"Wasn't the Alpha supposed to accompany the Luna in selecting the gown? Why would he return to the meeting hall?" Darius asked, surprised to see Casian back so soon after leaving.
Casian had been looking forward to seeing Lyra try on the wedding gown he had personally selected for her. Yet here he was, leaving her alone and busying himself with work that hardly required his attention.
Casian didn't bother to answer, attempting to brush off Darius's remark. What was he supposed to say? That he had seen his mate bathing in the tub, and now his body burned with the memory of it?
His need for Lyra was becoming unbearable. If he didn't control himself, he might end up doing something he would regret later.
"Penny will help her with the gowns. She can choose whichever she likes from the rest," Casian said, clearing his throat. But his response didn't sit well with Darius.
"As you say, Alpha," Darius replied, barely hiding a smirk.
