Chapter 8 - Arc 8: The Dark Past of The Void

The Void was a rat from Planet Hilium, a world that was once rich and prosperous. However, rampant corruption among its officials had destroyed everything. The once-grand cities were now abandoned, filled with towering, decayed buildings overgrown with moss and wild plants. Poverty was widespread, and to survive, the inhabitants often had to fight, steal, or even kill one another. Cannibalism became a common practice amidst the chaos.

The Void was born into this suffering, growing up in a poor but initially happy family. However, the worsening conditions of the planet changed everything. His father became a violent drunkard, frequently abusing his family. One day, in a drunken rage, his father returned home empty-handed. When his mother asked about food, his fury exploded. He beat his wife to death before The Void's very eyes. The young rat tried to fight back, but his small and weak body was no match.

Bruised and terrified, The Void fled, consumed by fear and hatred. As he staggered away, he muttered, "If only I had power… I would take my revenge."

Suddenly, an explosion shook the city sky. The Void turned and saw a giant cat rampaging, slaughtering rats that tried to escape. The city became a sea of fire and screams of agony.

As he tried to run, another massive cat approached his village. Before he could flee, the beast caught him, ready to devour him alive. But at the last moment, a surge of black lightning shot down from the sky, striking the giant cat and saving The Void. A mysterious fox sorcerer, Azrak, stood before him, his eyes gleaming sharply.

"You desire power, don't you?" Azrak asked, his gaze piercing into The Void's soul.

Without hesitation, The Void answered, "Yes. I need it more than anything."

The Birth of Darkness

Azrak took The Void to a secluded forest, where a massive floating stone radiated with dark energy. "Take the power from this stone. It will change your life forever."

As The Void approached, two giant guardian cats rushed toward them. Without hesitation, The Void grasped the stone, and in an instant, dark energy enveloped his body. A black cloak materialized around him, and the stone transformed into a magical staff in his hands—his first artifact, The Void Stone.

"Now, show me your hatred," Azrak whispered.

The Void raised his staff, unleashing the "Dark Pulse Beam," sending a jet-black laser that pierced through the first giant cat's body, killing it instantly. Then, he lifted his hand to the sky, summoning "Doomstorm Lightning," a massive black thunderbolt that struck the second giant cat, incinerating it to ashes.

Azrak smiled in satisfaction. "And now, what will you do?"

The Void looked down. "I will kill my father."

With his newfound power, he returned home. Without hesitation, he lifted his father with magic and slammed him against the wall. Before finishing him off, he tortured him with "Black Decay," a poisonous spell that caused his father's body to rot and darken slowly. The man could only scream in agony before a final blast of "Doomstorm Lightning" ended his life.

His revenge was complete. But his thirst for power only grew stronger.

Azrak approached and said, "If you seek even greater strength, there are more stones like this scattered across different planets."

Suddenly, the ground began to crack. Hilium was collapsing. They rushed to the government headquarters, found a spaceship, and quickly escaped the crumbling planet.

Alliance with the Dog Kingdom

Aboard the ship, Azrak informed The Void about the second artifact, Soulflare, located on Planet Inferno Frame—but the planet was ruled by the mighty Dog Kingdom. The third artifact, the Heart of Light, resided in Calestia, the kingdom of the moon cats.

"We need allies," Azrak said. "We must bring the Dog Kingdom to our side."

They landed near Inferno Volcano, where the dog army was battling to claim Soulflare. The army was formidable, and even one of their generals had fallen in combat.

Azrak rescued a wounded soldier who had fallen into a ravine and brought him back to the ship. "The soldier I saved is their vice general," he told The Void. "We can turn him into an ally."

A plan was set. The Void created the "Eclipse Poison," while Azrak infiltrated the dog palace using "Phantom Veil," rendering himself invisible. He poisoned the king's food.

As the king lay dying, the soldier they saved rushed in to help, but it was too late. Now, the soldier was crowned as the new king—Astrodog.

Upon learning that Astrodog had married, they executed their second plan: to ruin his life entirely. While Astrodog was away on state duty, Azrak infiltrated his home, moving like a silent shadow, his eyes filled with dark intent.

He entered the royal kitchen and stared at the silver goblet containing the queen's drink. With a subtle motion, he poured the "Eclipse Poison" from a small vial—an undetectable poison that worked slowly, causing unbearable pain before death.

When Astrodog later met The Void, he had no idea that in a few hours, his wife would be writhing in pain, dying with no one able to save her. The Void merely smiled coldly while speaking to Astrodog, hiding the fact that he had already taken everything from him.

With the Dog Kingdom now under their control, The Void and Azrak advanced toward Calestia. As the battle raged, The Void and Astrodog pursued Luna, who was desperately trying to flee. However, just as the chase intensified, Azrak sensed an immense surge of dark energy nearby.

Azrak quickly informed The Void, "I sense an extraordinarily powerful dark artifact not far from here. Have Astrodog continue the pursuit—we will seek the artifact."

Hearing this, The Void nodded and ordered Astrodog to keep chasing Luna, while Azrak slipped away from the main path, following the source of dark energy. The increasingly thick black aura led him to a rocky crevice amid the kingdom's ruins, where he was certain the artifact was hidden.

Claiming the Dark Artifact

They arrived at Planet Umbra Nexus, where the sky was a deep violet, illuminated by swirling, mystical auroras. The planet's atmosphere echoed with ghostly whispers carried by the wind, as if the place concealed secrets darker than they had imagined.

As they entered a towering cave resembling the jaws of a massive beast, they were ambushed from the shadows. Hidden Orc Archers positioned behind stalactites unleashed a barrage of black arrows toward them. The Void reacted swiftly, dodging nimbly and leaping into the air, raising his staff. With a commanding voice, he unleashed "Dark Pulse Beam," a lethal black blast that annihilated several orc archers instantly.

But before he could breathe easily, the ground beneath them trembled violently. From the cave's darkness, heavily armored Orc Warriors emerged, wielding enormous weapons, swinging axes and swords at The Void. They were not only larger but also far faster than they appeared. One of them lunged at incredible speed, swinging its massive axe toward The Void's chest.

With lightning-fast reflexes, The Void raised his dark shield, "Dark Aegis Shield," blocking the brutal attack. Sparks of black energy scattered in all directions as the colossal axe struck the shield with tremendous force, pushing The Void back until he almost tumbled into the abyss of the cave.

Seeing the growing number of enemies, The Void furrowed his brows and raised his hand high. "Doom Fog!" he shouted. Instantly, a thick black mist enveloped the entire cave, obscuring the vision of the orcs and filling their lungs with lethal poison. Screams of agony echoed as their bodies weakened and collapsed one by one.

However, before The Void could celebrate his victory, the ground trembled more violently than before, as if something even larger was awakening from the darkness. Heavy footsteps echoed, accompanied by a terrifying roar that shook the cave's structure. From the depths of the shadows, a massive figure emerged—The Giant Orc King.

His eyes burned red like molten embers, his massive muscular body clad in layered black armor, shielding him like an impenetrable fortress. In one enormous hand, he wielded a colossal axe larger than The Void himself, dark energy surging along its blade.

With a growl filled with hatred, the Orc King swung his axe downward, splitting the cave floor with tremendous force. A shockwave exploded in all directions, cracking the cave walls and shattering large stone pillars into fragments. The Void leaped aside, but the impact of the strike sent him flying through the air, slamming against jagged rocks protruding from the cave walls.

Before he could recover, the Giant Orc King moved with unnatural speed for his massive size, swinging his axe once more. The Void barely had time to raise his staff and summon his black shield, "Dark Aegis Shield," but the colossal weapon shattered it in a single devastating blow, sending him crashing into the cave wall as debris rained around him.

Pain surged through The Void's entire body, but he could not afford to falter now. Panting, he lifted his hand, summoning an immense surge of dark energy. "Oblivion Ray!" he roared, releasing a vortex of swirling black energy like a tornado toward the Orc King.

Yet before the attack could reach its target, the Orc King raised his axe and cleaved the energy in two, dissipating it instantly. The Void's eyes widened—this creature was not only powerful but also possessed formidable magical resistance.

The Orc King gave no respite. He stomped the ground, generating a crimson energy wave that blasted The Void back against the cavern wall. This time, The Void was truly cornered.

As blood dripped from the corner of his lips, something deep within him began to whisper. A vision of a faceless, colossal entity resurfaced in his mind.

"Do you seek more power?" the voice echoed within him.

In his desperation, The Void finally embraced the darkness within him without hesitation. A surge of black energy erupted from his body, absorbing every particle of energy around him. His eyes turned pitch black, his form enveloped in a swirling vortex of shadow.

With his newfound power, he raised his staff and unleashed "Black Thunder Wrath"—a surge of black lightning exploding from the cave's ceiling, striking the Orc King with immense force.

For the first time, the Orc King staggered, black smoke searing from his body. But The Void did not relent. In a swift motion, he directed "Oblivion Ray" straight into the Orc King's chest, the dark energy piercing through his massive frame like a deadly spear.

The Orc King let out a final, guttural roar before his body collapsed with a resounding crash, leaving behind a mass of dark energy that was absorbed into The Void's being.

The Void had become stronger than ever before.

After witnessing The Void's victory over the Orc King, Azrak returned to his spaceship. Upon arrival, he noticed a message from Astrodog. In the message, Astrodog informed him that he had successfully obtained the Heart of Light artifact. Without wasting time, Azrak immediately set course for Inferno Flame to retrieve the artifact.

Upon arrival, Azrak was met with a shocking sight—Astrodog was in the process of extracting Luna's soul into a colossal canine statue. But before he could intervene, Astrocat suddenly appeared and launched an attack! Astrocat fought fiercely to stop Astrodog, forcing Azrak to engage in battle to prevent the interference.

As the fierce battle unfolded, The Void reached the Voidheart Relic artifact and felt an overwhelming surge of power flow through him. This newfound strength allowed him to create immensely powerful orbs—energy spheres capable of obliterating an entire planet in an instant.

However, on the other side of the battlefield, Azrak suffered defeat at the hands of Astrocat. In his weakened state, he sent a distress signal to The Void, warning him of the escalating danger. When The Void arrived at the battleground, he witnessed the intense duel between Astrocat and Astrodog—a battle that would determine the fate of the artifact and the balance of power across the universe.

The Void merely smirked.

The next great battle was only just beginning.
