I can't believe my ears, "I am sorry?"
"Make me your familiar." She repeats, stepping forward to stand before me.
"Why do you say this?" I raise an eyebrow, completely in disbelief.
"I am dead. And I have never been to the dark realm before." She says, her voice lacks the spark a normal human being has, so calm and devoid of any emotions. "And I don't want to go there. But I cannot live here without being discovered for long. So I need you to adopt me."
I stare at her, she stares back even though I can't see her eyes because of her blindfold. Though I doubt there is anything to see anyway.
"Not happening." I look down at my parchment. There is an ugly large bead of black on the paper where I paused my pen. I scowl.
"Why not?" She asks, without any trace of emotion.
