Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Helheim

Narrator's POV

"Take that, you son of a bitch!!!" Adam shouted indignantly after countering a troll's ambush.

*Slash*

*Groo!!!*

After severing the arm the troll had used to attack with his angelic weapon, Adam pushed him back with a violent kick, brutally launching him away.

Several trees were damaged under the impact of the projected troll.

"Shit, I got carried away again..." muttered Adam, not hiding his annoyance, while looking around.

He could feel several gazes fixed on his silhouette, but no monster or demon dared approach him in this area.

'As usual, after dealing with the biggest one, the other creatures hesitate to bust my balls...' he thought while magically cleaning his clothes before continuing on his way, ignoring the rest of the troll that looked like an unrecognizable heap of flesh.

Adam had already lost track of time since arriving in this strange and inhospitable place, but he didn't really give a damn.

He's become a winner and an archangel!!

He doesn't need to sleep or eat, except in cases of serious injury, but that rarely or almost never happened according to the original Adam's memories.

So, he can walk and fly for days.

Adam only slept because of mental fatigue due to his memories as Jonas who was a mere mortal.

His destination or temporary lead was this unpleasant aura he detected.

That's why he's heading toward it.

He hoped to get information quickly.

'I haven't met any intelligent creature to communicate with...'

sigh

As a powerful archangel and leader of the exorcists, Adam possessed various extremely useful powers.

Among them, he had the gift of universal communication.

Thus, he wasn't really afraid of language barriers.

Unfortunately, the creatures living in this place were simply too stupid and berserk to attempt communication.

"Finally, an artificial structure."

A castle stood proudly before him.

Adam could feel a presence and intense pressure emanating from this fortress, but he felt no fear.

Using his archangel memory, he estimated that the unpleasant aura coming from it was inferior to his own.

'The owner should normally hesitate to fight me, since I can feel the gap in strength between us...' he concluded mentally before approaching.

Adam approached the entrance but was stopped by creatures clearly more intelligent than the beasts he had encountered so far.

"Grrr... s... stop!"

"Hmm... you're approaching Lord Incubus's domain."

Two guards suddenly halted his progress.

Adam couldn't help but frown at this situation, but he tried to control his annoyance.

Since I assimilated Adam, I get irritated extremely easily, and I have a fouler tongue...

Adam (Jonas) wasn't blind.

He had already observed a huge change in his manners, but he couldn't do much about it.

It literally felt like memories anchored for centuries.

Thus, a mortal who had only lived two decades couldn't completely prevent the influence of such vast memories.

"Listen here, you green skin."

He flew up to get level with the orc in front of him, since the latter was at least 6'9", and Adam was tired of having to lift his chin.

"I'm literally an archangel..."

Adam didn't have time to finish his speech before being attacked by a wooden club, but it was easily blocked by his guitar.

"Oh hell, you really tried to pull a fast one on me?!"

The threatening aura emitted by Adam made the orc who initiated the attack back away.

"I'm gonna beat you so hard with this guitar that you'll regret being born, my guy!"

BOOM

As promised, Adam smashed his guitar into the orc's lower jaw, who clumsily tried to explain himself.

The orc's entire upper body was vaporized before there was a mini rain of blood.

"Shit, I got my clothes dirty again..." he grumbled, putting his guitar on his shoulder before looking at the other orc.

*Sound effect*

Unlike his colleague, this one quickly opened the castle door while bowing deeply.

"I see there's one who isn't completely hopeless~"

He couldn't help but smile before using his sacred power to clean himself and enter through the castle's main door.

"What are you waiting for, idiot? An invitation?"

The orc rushed inside.

...

Adam's POV

How powerful is Adam from Hazbin Hotel?

To get an idea of his power, you have to compare him to Alastor and Lucifer.

Alastor could casually destroy huge structures like airships, or create barriers capable of covering an entire castle to resist an army of angels possessing weapons that could kill immortal beings.

But Adam could break his shield with a simple casual punch and defeat him without being serious.

As for his fight against Lucifer, he managed to represent a real threat without even using any real combat technique.

Lucifer himself said it: he hasn't done shit since the Eden era.

Adam demonstrated frightening brute force in Hazbin Hotel's lore.

He's currently only surpassed by Lucifer, but things could have gone badly for him if Charlie hadn't intervened.

He also showed extremely versatile powers throughout the show, beyond his brute force and energy manipulation, which can raze a castle with a cliff to boot.

For example:

• The definitive death of a soul thanks to angelic weapons

• The ability to affect intangible beings with these weapons

• Creating portals between dimensions

• Materializing angelic weapons

• Telekinesis

• A certain level of clairvoyance

• Object transmutation

• Object teleportation

• Good resistance to electricity

• Impressive overall resistance, since he casually gets up after being stabbed by an angelic weapon

Why am I telling all this?

Because I literally can't lose against the crap that's in front of me now.

"Who are you? And why are you in my domain?"

A strangely dressed young man stood before me, surrounded by numerous creatures with a gloomy aura.

"I think you missed something."

I stepped toward him, ignoring the other creatures around.

"I'm the one asking questions here."

"How dare you— CRACK"

I didn't wait for him to finish his speech and kicked him without hesitation to avoid potential problems.

On the way to this castle's throne room, the orc who guarded the door informed me of my current location and other details.

I'm in Helheim.

One of the three major dimensions known to the natives here.

There's Midgard, the youngest dimension, Walhalla, where divine beings and some sufficiently civilized demons usually live, and finally Helheim... Hell.

Unfortunately, this orc had too little information about the global situation of other worlds outside Helheim.

He only knew some general facts about Midgard and Walhalla, like the existence of humans or that of the god-king Zeus.

However, he knew much more about Helheim.

It's thanks to him that I learned there was a "king" who rules this dimension: Hades, the sovereign of Helheim.

I was surprised by this information, as I thought I was in Norse mythology, but this seems to be some sort of crossover.

So it's possible there's no goddess Hel here or she's just not queen of Helheim.

Thus, I know a bit about Helheim's situation, but nothing interesting about Midgard and Walhalla.

"Kill him!!!" screamed the incubus, his arm literally reduced to mush.

"The universe of Valkyria Apocalypse is really... interesting~"

Back then, I hadn't understood why Helheim's monsters instinctively backed away from me.

I should have known that the murderous aura of someone who's been slaughtering sinners and demons since the beginning of creation would be overwhelming for these humble creatures...
