Chapter 8 - Vix , Kit & Kat

"Nyumm nyumm..." Kai, who had been sleeping, suddenly felt something heavy on him.

He tried to open his eyes, and in his groggy state, he saw two little girls sitting on him, happily eating apples.

"Ohh hoo... what are you two doing here? Where's Rose? Did she leave you guys?"

Kai got up and carried the two girls in his arms.

He brought them over to their father and checked on him. To his surprise, the man's body, which had been covered in wounds, was completely healed overnight.

"How??"

Kai set the two girls down and inspected the bandages made from his shirt. The wounds were gone, leaving only faint scars.

He looked around, confused but relieved. "Well, whatever happened, it's a miracle," he muttered to himself.

The two girls, still munching on their apples, looked up at him with innocent eyes.

"Don't worry, your dad is safe now," Kai reassured the two little girls as he waited for Rose, who had gone missing.

He helped the kids finish their apples while keeping an eye out for his sister.

Not long after, Rose appeared.

"Where did you go, sister?" Kai asked.

Rose held her stomach. "I had to take care of something. Digging a hole took some time. Now I feel much better," she replied.

Kai immediately understood what she meant and couldn't resist teasing her.

"Hmm, someone just made natural fertilizer. It'll also benefit our soil... thanks for your contribution, Rose," he said with a smirk.

Rose gave him a side-eye and smacked his head.

"Just shut up, you motherf****r," she snapped.

The two kids, who didn't understand what was happening, mimicked Rose and also smacked Kai.

"Good job, kids! Hit him again!" Rose encouraged, laughing.

Kai, pretending to be hurt, clutched his head dramatically. "Betrayed by my own sister and these little ones!"

Rose then took the two kids by the hand. "Come on, let's go to the river and take a bath together," she said, leading them away.

Not long after, the man who had been injured the previous night woke up and sat up to check his wounds.

"Hey bro, good morning. Don't worry, you're healed now. Something miraculous happened, but I'm a bit skeptical—maybe this tree healed you," Kai said, pointing to the World Tree.

The man looked relieved and immediately started searching for his daughters with his eyes.

"Thank you for your help. Where are my daughters? Are they safe?"

Kai reassured him. "Don't worry, they're fine. They just went to the river to bathe. My sister is taking care of them."

Kai's curiosity got the better of him. "Where did you learn that language? Does this world use that language too?"

The man sighed and tried to explain.

"Nope, I also come from Earth. You were summoned here too, right? I, along with five of my friends, were summoned to this world about 10 to 15 years ago."

Kai felt relieved hearing this. At least they weren't the only ones summoned here.

"So where are they now? Why are you alone here?"

"Only me and my wife survived. This world is controlled by powerful animals—their bodies and strength are twice that of humans. We tried to build a civilization here, but we failed."

Kai felt a bit sad hearing about the man's journey in this world.

"So where's your wife? Why are you only here with your daughters?"

The man shook his head.

"She died later while giving birth to my two daughters due to severe bleeding. We didn't have any medical experts or doctors to stop it."

"I'm sorry about the loss of your wife," Kai said sincerely.

"It's okay. It's been a long time already. I couldn't bear to see her suffer in this world, carrying a child without rest. Now it's my turn to take care of our children."

Kai got an idea—they really needed more people like him.

"How about you stay here with us? We're short on people, and my sister needs friends. Maybe your daughters can have fun with her."

Kai tried to persuade the man to stay with them. The man thought for a while, his hands fidgeting, before finally extending his hand.

"Okay, I accept. Please take care of us. But my power is only to melt anything hard."

Kai, shaking his hand, suddenly got excited. In his mind, this was a game-changer—with this power, they could easily make steel and iron.

"That's okay. Your power will be really useful for us. This place..." Kai gestured to their surroundings, "will be the new Earth, a modern era. I promise I'll make it happen. What should I call you?"

The man laughed.

"That's the first time someone's been excited about being summoned to this world. My name is Vix, and my daughters, Kit and Kat."

Kai grinned. "Welcome, Vix. Together, we'll build something amazing here."

Vix felt a bit relieved knowing that his two daughters could now live peacefully without having to constantly move around in search of food.

Rose, Kit, and Kat returned from the river, looking fresh after their bath. The two girls, seeing their father awake, ran over to him and hugged him tightly.

"Sorry, Dad, for making you worry," they said, looking up at him with shiny, innocent eyes.

Vix laughed softly. "Haha, it's okay. We'll stay here now. Father won't go anywhere. This will be our home."

The two girls jiggled excitedly, showing how happy they were. Then, they ran back to Rose.

Kai, noticing that the kids seemed eager to play, gave Rose a hint to take them for a walk.

"Don't be late, and don't go too far," Kai reminded them.

The girls bowed to Kai and grabbed Rose's hands, pulling her along as they ran off to explore.

"So, what should we do now?" Vix asked. "I think my wounds are healed, and my energy is fully restored, like I've just rested for a long time."

Kai, who already had an idea in mind, shared his plan.

"We'll make bricks. It's simple and effective. We don't need fancy tools—just some wood to shape the bricks, and the materials are clay and sand."
