"You were the worst mistake that ever happened to my son," she hissed, her voice dripping with venom. "His true love is Kelly. I watched them play together as children. That is the right woman for him. But you? You're cheap and pathetic. A gold digger who is the worst mistake to my son."
I clenched my jaw, my body shaking with fury. "You know nothing about your son," I shot back. "Lexus is happier with me. You and Kelly can go marry each other."
