Chapter 72 - Chapter 72: The Muggle-Repelling Charm

Chapter 72: The Muggle-Repelling Charm

A wand could enhance casting speed and magical power. No matter which world he was in, it was an indispensable tool for him.

With a wand in hand, his strength would at least double.

Compared to the Marvel world, this magic-rich world was clearly a better place to find materials for crafting a wand.

While his cat clone was diligently studying the magic of this new world, his main body wasn't idle either.

On this day, George, accompanied by Professor X, Wolverine, Gabriela, Isa, Caliban, and the children, appeared at the entrance of the school.

"Are you sure this will really work?"

Wolverine, dressed in his leather jacket and puffing on a cigar, looked skeptical. In all his years, he had never heard of a mutant with such an ability.

In contrast, Professor X remained calm:

"You should trust George. Our abilities are diverse, and it's impossible to predict them all."

Based on his understanding of George's personality, George usually wouldn't bring something up unless he was certain. Since George had brought them out of the basement, it meant he was fully confident.

"Wings!"

George activated his "Wing" magic, and a pair of pure white wings sprouted from his back, lifting him into the air. He then waved his hands and began chanting:

"Muggle-Repelling Charm!"

One after another, Muggle-Repelling Charms were cast, forming a large barrier that enveloped the entire mutant school.

The Muggle-Repelling Charm was a spell designed to affect ordinary humans without magical abilities. Once the school was covered by the charm, any ordinary human approaching the area would automatically overlook the existence of the mutant school.

It was as if, in their perception, the school had disappeared, and they would instinctively avoid the area.

Unless George, as the caster, revealed the school, ordinary humans wouldn't be able to see it.

"Alright, let's see the effect."

After landing, George led everyone outside the school.

Wolverine, watching George retract his wings, couldn't help but remark:

"I wonder how many abilities they implanted in you. Even angel wings now."

There had once been a mutant named "Angel" who was born with wings and could fly. He was later recruited by Apocalypse, who further enhanced his abilities.

However, "Angel" couldn't retract his wings like George could.

"Oh, damn, it's really gone."

As they stepped outside the school gates, Wolverine turned back and suddenly realized the school was no longer there. What was even stranger was that he didn't feel anything was amiss.

Normally, if a building disappeared or became invisible, it would be obvious that something was wrong. After all, a large building vanishing and leaving an empty space would raise suspicions.

But this wasn't the case now. Everything felt normal. If he hadn't just walked out of the school, he would have thought the area was perfectly ordinary, with no school in sight.

"Look, that's our school!"

At that moment, George pointed toward the school's location, and the vanished school reappeared before everyone's eyes.

"Oh, God!"

The children gasped in amazement as the school came back into view.

"From now on, when you return, just hold this glass bead, and you'll be able to see the school."

George handed a marble to Wolverine.

The marble contained a trace of his magical energy. As long as Wolverine held it, the magic within would allow him to see the school.

However, this wasn't entirely foolproof yet. Once he learned large-scale defensive spells, he could add an additional layer of protection over the school, making it truly secure.

Otherwise, while the Muggle-Repelling Charm could deceive ordinary humans, if someone were to launch a missile at the area, the school could still be damaged.

"This is great! Now the kids won't have to stay in the basement all the time."

Gabriela's face lit up with joy, and the children cheered and jumped around after their initial shock.

The basement was cramped, and staying there all day was no different from being in prison.

But now, they could at least bask in the sunlight, breathe fresh air, and roam, run, and play within the vast school grounds.

"Just a reminder, everyone can only move around within the school. Don't go outside."

George cautioned the children.

Aside from Wolverine, Professor X, Gabriela, Isa, and Caliban, he didn't plan to give the children marbles that would allow them to freely enter and exit the school.

He was worried that if a mischievous child ran off and the marble fell into enemy hands, it could spell trouble.

"Don't worry, they're already thrilled to be able to move around the school. I'll keep an eye on them."

Gabriela smiled, and the children nodded in agreement.

After returning to the school, George turned to Wolverine and asked:

"How's Tony Stark been lately?"

Wolverine had been keeping tabs on Tony Stark. It was only today, when George needed to set up the Muggle-Repelling Charm around the school, that Isa had flown the jet to bring him back.

Wolverine took a puff of his cigar and replied:

"Since the press conference, he's mostly stayed in his villa, except for a trip to the Air Force base. He hasn't gone out much.

It seems being kidnapped has made the playboy settle down a bit."

"Not just settling down—he's probably working on the suit he started developing in that desert cave. That's fine; we'll leave him be for now."

George nodded, not saying much more.

Tony Stark had spent several months developing his Iron Man suit. It had been over two months since George rescued him, so it would likely take a bit longer for the suit to be completed.

"Once Tony Stark finishes the Iron Man suit, we'll go back and deal with Sandor Reis once and for all."

George hadn't forgotten about Sandor Reis, the major threat. Waiting for the enemy to strike first wasn't his style.

Sandor Reis had created these mutant children, the hybrid of Magneto and Professor X, and even a younger version of Wolverine, X-24. It was entirely possible he could create other mutants.

If Sandor Reis sent a group of cloned mutants after them, it could be dangerous.

The Muggle-Repelling Charm could shield them from ordinary humans, but mutants had a wide range of abilities. Who knew if one of them might have a power that could counter the charm?

Therefore, George planned to team up with Tony Stark once the Iron Man suit was ready and launch a preemptive strike on Sandor Reis's base.

Don't underestimate Tony Stark's suit. In terms of firepower and destructive power, it far surpassed George's current psychic abilities and magic, even if it was susceptible to certain weaknesses.

But that was fine—George would be there to back him up, along with Wolverine at his peak.

Most importantly, George knew the Tracking Charm, so finding Sandor Reis wouldn't be a problem.
