Chapter 100: The Queen of the Fairies Arrives

"Reparo!"

In the guild hall, George waved his wand, and all the damage caused by the recent brawl among the guild's mages was instantly repaired.

"George, your magic keeps getting better."

Mirajane, who was wiping glasses behind the bar, complimented him with a smile.

She remembered that when George first arrived, it took him over a dozen spells to repair the hall. Now, he could do it with a single wave of his wand while sitting at the bar.

"Mostly thanks to the Master's guidance. By the way, where is the Master today?"

George took a sip from his beer mug, which was almost as tall as he was.

His Repairing Charm had indeed improved significantly, but not to this extent. The reason for such an impressive effect was mainly due to the super wand he had crafted using Natsu's hair as the core.

Mirajane replied with a smile:

"The Master? He went to attend a routine meeting."

"A routine meeting? That means he won't be back for a few days. I was planning to ask him about some light magic today."

George looked a bit disappointed.

He knew about the routine meetings—they were regular gatherings of guild masters from across the kingdom to discuss policies set by the Magic Council.

The Kingdom of Fiore, with a population of 17 million, was a permanent neutral state in this world. Its highest leadership was divided into two parts.

The first was the Fiore Royal Family, responsible for maintaining order among the general population. The second was the Magic Council, responsible for maintaining order in the magical community.

The Magic Council's leadership consisted of one chairman and nine council members. Their main duties included monitoring the actions of mage guilds, punishing rogue guilds, and pursuing dark guilds.

They regularly held meetings at the Council headquarters to discuss important developments in the magical world and decide on action plans.

These plans were then communicated to the guild masters, who would gather to discuss how to implement them.

Such gatherings usually lasted at least three to five days.

"Big trouble! Erza... Erza is back!"

Just as George finished his beer and was about to head to the basement library to read, the guild doors burst open. Loki, a holder-type mage, announced with a grave expression.

In an instant, the guild fell silent. Except for the smiling Mirajane and the confused Lucy, every mage's face turned stiff, including the usually fearless Natsu and his rival Gray.

"Erza Scarlet, the Queen of the Fairies, one of the guild's S-Class mages!"

George, intrigued, stopped in his tracks.

Aside from Master Makarov, he hadn't met any S-Class mages since joining the guild. Today, he would finally get to see what they were like.

"Everyone seems terrified of her. Is she really that hard to get along with?"

George returned to the bar.

Mirajane shook her head gently:

"Not at all. Erza is very kind. She's just very serious and cares deeply about everyone."

"But I heard from Natsu that Erza can kick two mountains with one foot!"

Lucy, who had been listening to their conversation, chimed in.

"That's an exaggeration. Natsu once challenged Erza and ended up half-dead, so he might be overstating things."

Mirajane covered her mouth and giggled.

"Even Natsu was beaten half to death?"

Lucy's eyes widened in shock. Having worked with Natsu on missions, she knew just how powerful he was.

Makarov, a middle-aged mage skilled in purple flame magic, chimed in with some gossip:

"Once, Gray was wandering around the guild naked, and Erza saw him. She beat him half to death too!"

"And when Loki first joined the guild, he tried to flirt with Erza. She beat him half to death as well!"

Cana, putting down her barrel of alcohol, added with a smirk.

George, looking toward the guild doors, grew even more curious about the Queen of the Fairies.

"I heard Erza uses Requip Magic?"

Natsu, Gray, and Loki were currently recognized as the strongest mages below S-Class in Fairy Tail, but they seemed no match for Erza.

From what George understood, Requip Magic wasn't considered particularly powerful. He had encountered mages who used similar magic before joining Fairy Tail.

"It's Requip Magic, but not the ordinary kind. It's Requip: The Knight, which allows her to summon not just magical weapons but also magical armor.

Even without her armor, Erza's strength far surpasses that of ordinary Requip mages. She passed the S-Class mage exam at just fifteen!"

Mirajane explained with a smile:

"There's no such thing as weak magic, only weak mages. Find the magic that suits you best, and with hard work, you can become a powerful mage."

Lucy and the others, hearing Mirajane's words, looked inspired. But George remained unconvinced.

The sentiment was nice—strong mages could defeat weaker ones even with simple magic.

But between equally strong mages, the one with the more powerful magic would always have the upper hand.

For example, take two mages with the same magical power: one using Fire Dragon Slayer Magic and the other using ordinary fire magic. There would be no contest.

Ordinary fire magic would be completely outclassed by Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. In fact, Natsu could simply swallow ordinary fire magic to boost his own power.

Mirajane's words were meant to encourage everyone, especially mages like George, whom she believed lacked offensive capabilities.

But George was a rational and pragmatic person. His ambitions were vast, and given the time, he wouldn't limit himself to one or two types of magic. He aimed to learn all forms of magic, including lost magic, super magic, and celestial magic.

His philosophy was simple: as a mage, the more magic you mastered, the closer you came to understanding its true essence.

Take Master Makarov, for example. Besides mastering Giant Magic and Light Magic, he was also proficient in various other magics like fire and ice.

Moreover, since George wasn't confined to a single world and had access to multiple worlds—potentially more in the future—he was even more suited to pursuing a versatile path in magic.

"Thud! Thud! Thud!"

Heavy footsteps echoed outside the guild, as if a giant were approaching. The mages in the hall collectively gulped.

Soon, a beautiful mage with silver armor on her upper body, a blue skirt, black boots, and long red hair appeared at the guild entrance.

However, this mage wasn't empty-handed. She was single-handedly carrying an enormous horn.

George estimated the horn weighed at least two tons—equivalent to lifting a Hummer in the modern world.
