Chapter 110 - Chapter 111: The Three Pillars of Light

Chapter 111: The Three Pillars of Light

As he had expected, using the Cursed Flute as the wand's body significantly enhanced the amplification of his magic. He now considered this wand to be a top-tier wand.

The top-tier wand amplified his magic by nearly twenty times.

"Reparo!"

With the top-tier wand's enhancement, the effect of the Repairing Charm was greatly improved. The ruins before him began to restore themselves as if time were flowing backward.

Since he didn't have to worry about running out of magic, George continuously waved the top-tier wand, casting one Repairing Charm after another.

From morning till night, he cast spells for a full ten hours, feeling slightly dizzy by the end. Finally, the entire city of Crocus was fully restored.

"Alright, my work here is done."

Putting away his wand, George, looking mentally exhausted, greeted Ultear and the other Magic Council mages before heading to the train station to return to Magnolia.

Even though his magic wouldn't run out, casting the same spell continuously for ten hours was still a grueling task.

However, after this intense spellcasting, he felt that his Repairing Charm had improved significantly.

"Strange, it's not the Arc of Time. Does this world really have repair magic?"

Watching George fly away, Ultear's face showed a puzzled expression.

After a day of observation, she was certain that the cat's magic wasn't the Arc of Time but an entirely different and unfamiliar type of magic.

"If it's just this, then it's nothing to worry about."

The cat's magic could only repair things, making it a purely supportive spell with no offensive capabilities.

Her Arc of Time, on the other hand, wasn't limited to just repairs. It had powerful offensive capabilities and could even stop time.

"I heard Natsu is challenging Erza tomorrow. Maybe I'll go and watch."

After buying a ticket and boarding the train back, George closed his eyes and entered a light sleep to recover his energy.

"George, how did it go?"

In the evening, as he got off the train at Magnolia Station, he was greeted by Master Makarov, who had personally come to pick him up.

"Master, don't worry. Everything has been restored to its original state."

"Hahaha, well done! Now let's see what excuses those Magic Council folks have to bother me.

Hmph, in a few days, I'll go over there myself and make them thank me properly.

If it weren't for our Fairy Tail mages stepping in, who knows how bad things could have gotten!"

Hearing George's confirmation, Makarov puffed out his chest and laughed heartily.

After laughing, he patted George's small shoulder:

"George, I'm giving you a big commendation for this. Since you're studying Light Magic, I'll teach you a powerful defensive Light Magic spell I created when I have the time!"

"Defensive Light Magic?"

George's eyes lit up. The Light Magic spells he had seen in the library were mostly weak.

If it weren't for the fact that Makarov specialized in Light Magic and that Light Magic had a sacred effect, countering dark magic, he wouldn't have continued studying it.

"Yes, it's called the Three Pillars. It's my strongest defensive spell, something even a Wizard Saint might not be able to break."

Makarov tilted his head back, looking proud.

Hearing this, George immediately responded seriously:

"Master, if there are any more tasks like this in the future, please don't hesitate to call on me. I love repairing things!"

It seemed that when Makarov had been teaching him Giant Magic and Light Magic, he had held back quite a bit, not teaching him many of his ultimate techniques.

Of course, it made sense. George hadn't been in the guild for long, so it was only natural that Makarov wouldn't reveal all his secrets right away. That would be foolish.

If he could learn more powerful spells through this method in the future, he felt that even a few days of repair work would be worth it.

The next day, on the main street of Magnolia.

Erza and Natsu stood facing each other, surrounded by Fairy Tail mages and the ordinary residents of Magnolia.

"Natsu, go for it!"

"Queen Erza, teach Natsu a lesson!"

Even before the fight began, the crowd was already cheering loudly.

Fairy Tail had been in Magnolia for many years and had always had a good relationship with the locals. The townspeople weren't afraid of the guild's mages; in fact, they loved them.

Hearing that Natsu, the Fire Dragon, was challenging Erza, the Queen of the Fairies, they all came to watch the spectacle.

"Place your bets! Natsu wins at 10 to 1, Erza wins at 1 to 10!"

Cana, who loved drinking, took the opportunity to start a betting pool, causing both guild mages and onlookers to place their bets.

Most bet on S-class Erza to win, but a few took a gamble and bet on Natsu.

When Natsu had lost to Erza years ago, he had been much younger. In recent years, Natsu's growth had been evident, so there was a slim chance he could win.

"Who will win?"

George stood among the mages, not placing any bets but still very interested in the outcome of the duel.

Logically, S-class Erza should be stronger, but Natsu's final attack against the three-eyed demon had left a deep impression on him.

That attack had blasted a massive hole in the city.

"Requip: Flame Empress Armor!"

Erza appeared before the crowd, wielding a massive fire god's sword, clad in red tight-fitting armor, with her hair tied into twin tails.

"Flame Empress Armor, a fire-resistant armor that reduces the power of fire magic by half. Natsu's in trouble now!"

Levy, who used Wood-Make Magic, adjusted her glasses and commented.

The Fairy Tail members nodded in agreement, and Happy even ran to Cana to change his bet from Natsu to Erza, earning a round of teasing from Lucy.

"Facing a mage like Erza is indeed challenging."

George couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

Dealing with a mage like Erza required either overwhelming strength or the ability to counter her various magical weapons and armor.

Like now, Natsu's fire magic was directly halved in effectiveness.

"Let the match begin!"

With Master Makarov's shout, Erza and Natsu clashed.

Since Erza's armor was fire-resistant, Natsu didn't use his flames directly. Instead, he channeled his Dragon Slayer fire magic into his body to enhance his physical strength for close combat.

The two exchanged blows at speeds so fast that George's eyes could barely keep up. For a while, it seemed like a close match.

"Natsu, you've really improved over the years. But it's about time to end this!"

After dodging Natsu's fierce attack, Erza's face showed a hint of satisfaction. Her speed suddenly increased, and before Natsu could react, she appeared behind him and knocked him out with a single chop.

Clearly, she hadn't been using her full strength earlier. Only now had she truly unleashed her power.
