Chapter 151: The Man Who Would Be Master (Part 2)

The train back to Magnolia was heavy with silence.

Fairy Tail's mages clustered around their unconscious guild master like lost sheep, their eyes clouded with uncertainty, morale sinking like a stone.

George shook his head. These mages were formidable in battle, but outside combat? Not the sharpest tools in the shed.

He amplified his voice with a Sonorus Charm:

"Jose won't let this go. Right now, he's rallying every Phantom Lord branch."

A collective flinch.

"They'll attack by tomorrow morning."

The color drained from their faces. Without Makarov, how could they stop Jose—let alone his entire guild? Despair thickened the air.

George pressed on:

"Here's the plan:

1. Heal Master Makarov—restore his magic ASAP.

2. Fortify the guildhall—activate every defensive spell and magic item we've got.

3. Report Phantom Lord's attack to the Magic Council—their investigation buys us time.

4. Recall ALL Fairy Tail members—especially S-Class: Laxus, Mystogan. Gildarts too, if possible."**

He paused, then grinned.

"And relax. We just escaped Jose himself—and took out an Element Four. If they attack, we'll send them home in pieces!"

"Damn right!" Natsu roared from his floating perch, flames erupting from his fists.

The guild's spirits lifted like a rising tide.

Erza raised a hand. "Master's friend Porlyusica—the healer in East Forest. She saved my eye. She can help him."

"Perfect. First stop: Porlyusica," George nodded.

Mirajane added, "I'll contact Councilman Yajima—he was Fairy Tail once. And I'll reach Laxus via scrying orb."

"Problem solved!" George spread his paws. "Now we prep—and turn Phantom Lord into punching bags!"

The guild erupted in cheers, despair vaporized.

Mirajane watched George, her eyes soft. "He makes everything feel... safe."

Erza, Natsu, Gray, Happy, Lucy—all nodded.

In one night, George had earned their trust through strength and strategy.

This could work, George mused, suppressing a smirk. Once I master transformation magic, the guildmaster seat might just be mine.

Seeing "Fairy Law" had sealed his ambition. Only as master could he learn that spell.

But first—he needed human form. Currently, his shapeshifting studies with Mirajane were... not going well.

Transformation magic had three tiers:

- Basic: Alters appearance (halves power)

- Intermediate: Changes clothes too (still 50% weaker)

- Advanced: Full power, no limits

He couldn't even manage Basic yet.

Back in Magnolia:

- Alzack & Bisca ferried Makarov to Porlyusica.

- Mirajane sent letters and scried Laxus.

- Wakaba & Macao hauled out ancient guild relics.

- Levy's team wove defensive spell arrays over the hall.

- George tested a theory with Natsu.

As night fell, Mirajane approached George, eyes red.

"Laxus refused. He said... he'll only come if Master names him successor."

A murmur of disgust rippled through the guild.

George's tail flicked. So he wants to steal my future seat?

"A true leader earns trust—not demands it," he said pointedly.

Nods all around.

"Abandoning us now? He'll NEVER be master!" someone shouted.

Fairy Tail wasn't inherited—it was earned. The Second Master had been a founding member. The Third, a visionary who united them all.

Laxus' bloodline meant nothing. Not like this.
