Chapter 189: The Enchanting Succubus Lorelei
"I would like to have some knowledge about the technology of the God Realm, if that's possible?"
When Odin looked at Tony, Tony also spoke up about his request.
As they walked along, Tony had indeed seen quite a few technologies from the God Realm that were beyond his knowledge.
He felt that if he could obtain some technological knowledge from the God Realm, the power of his Iron Man suit would certainly increase significantly.
To be honest, when he first saw Thor, he didn't take the so-called God Realm seriously.
However, after coming to the God Realm, experiencing the battles and touring the Immortal Palace, his views had completely changed.
The only one lacking intelligence was Thor, and the technology of the God Realm was far ahead of Earth's.
Not to mention, the Rainbow Bridge responsible for teleportation was incredibly terrifying.
No matter where in the universe, one could use the Rainbow Bridge to teleport and meet someone, its mobility was unmatched.
And as long as it's not turned off, its energy could even destroy a planet within minutes, something Earth's technology could never achieve.
"The technology level of the God Realm surpasses Midgard by thousands of years, but our technology is magic-based, and it differs greatly from your Earth technology," Odin explained briefly, saying, "If you want, I will have someone organize some technologies suitable for Earth's development for you."
Skipping over Tony, he looked at Steve, who was holding Mjolnir, with an appreciative look on his face:
"As a mortal, being able to lift Mjolnir, your character surprises me. What would you like?"
"I don't really want anything."
Steve shook his head.
Everything he had was already lost to the passage of time. The only reason he was still alive was because of his strong will.
If he had to mention a wish, it would be to return to before being frozen and attend that missed date.
"In that case, leave your shield with me, and I will have the Dwarf King add some Uru metal to it, along with magic, so that you can summon it back to your hand at any time."
Odin made a decision for Steve, then turned to look at Wolverine Logan.
Logan smiled and said:
"I heard from Thor that the God Realm's wine is better than Earth's, especially the barrels his father hid in the lowest part of the wine cellar. They are said to be the best wine in the universe. Do you think we could have one?"
Having lived for almost two hundred years, his wish was for all the relatives and friends who had passed away to be resurrected, but that was impossible.
Odin looked at Thor, who raised his head and pretended not to see, secretly giving Logan a thumbs-up.
Both he and Logan liked to drink, and they were both true men. When they were staying at Jane Foster's rented house, he had mentioned the wine barrels his father had hidden, and he didn't expect Logan to remember that. Well done.
When they went to George's school, he could also sneak a taste of the wine his father had hidden for so many years to see how good it really was.
"Alright, those few barrels of wine have been my collection for over two thousand years, but I will give you one."
Finally, he looked at George, the Midgardian wizard, whom he had sensed as unusual the moment he entered the God Realm.
As the Lord of the God Realm and the Father of the Gods, he had long foreseen the end of the God Realm, the Twilight of the Gods, an unchangeable fate of the God Realm, something even he could not alter.
However, upon seeing George, that unchangeable fate seemed to have fluctuated and no longer appeared so unbreakable.
Although he didn't know why this was happening, he was certain it had something to do with George.
"Midgardian wizard, is there anything you would like?"
"Esteemed Odin, if possible, I would like a branch from the World Tree. If that's not possible, some Uru metal will suffice."
George straightforwardly stated his request while looking at Odin, sitting on the throne.
Odin hesitated for quite a while, then nodded:
"Alright, I will personally retrieve a branch from the World Tree for you."
Upon hearing that Odin agreed, George's face immediately showed surprise.
You see, he had never truly hoped for a branch from the World Tree.
In the entire God Realm, only Mjolnir's handle and the Eternal Spear's shaft were made from World Tree materials, which showed that the World Tree's branches were one of the rarest materials in the God Realm.
So, he had thrown out the idea of asking for a branch of the World Tree in hopes that Odin would reject it, and then he could ask for more Uru metal, something Odin would have trouble refusing.
Uru metal was rare in the God Realm, but there was still a fair amount of it, so asking for more wouldn't make Odin hesitate.
But he never expected Odin to actually agree to give him a branch from the World Tree.
The World Tree was the link between the Nine Realms, the source of the magic of the God Realm. God Realm mages had to use the World Tree's power to cast magic, just like the mystical mages of Kamar-Taj had to borrow the power of the Vishanti.
In the Marvel universe, all magic is borrowed, and using it always requires a price. The few exceptions, like Ancient One who borrowed and never returned, are rare.
If George could have a branch from the World Tree as the shaft for his wand, and the heart of the Frost Giant King as the core, he believed the wand he could make would be no worse than the one from the Fairy Tail world.
With a twentyfold increase in magical power, if he used the ancient thunderstorm magic, he could cover an entire city.
Upon hearing Odin's confirmation, not only George, but even Frigg, the Queen of the Gods, was surprised, though her surprise was mixed with concern.
Frigg knew that with Odin's current physical condition, retrieving the branch from the World Tree wouldn't come without consequences, and it would likely hasten the end of Odin's life.
She was about to speak to advise against it, but Odin shook his head to stop her.
Knowing that Odin must have his reasons for doing this, she kept silent.
Once everything was settled, George and the others were sent back to their previous rooms to wait. Daisy and the others soon received what they had requested, while George had to wait two hours for the World Tree branch to arrive.
Finally, Steve's shield was told to be ready and would be sent via the Rainbow Bridge once it was forged.
After everything was concluded, the group returned to the main control room of the Rainbow Bridge, where they were transported back to Old Bridge Town's house by Heimdall, who had been healed using the healing stone of the God Realm.
Meanwhile, in the God Realm's dungeon, Loki was lying on his bed, bored, tossing his dagger in the air. Suddenly, a seductive voice came from the neighboring cell:
"Well, if it isn't the Prince of the God Realm, Loki. What brings you to be imprisoned here?"
Loki got up and looked towards the source of the voice. A woman with red hair, full lips, and a mischievous personality was leaning against the energy shield, smiling at him.
"So it's you, the Enchantress Lorelei."
She was a succubus who could make men obey her with her voice. Six hundred years ago, she had used her powers to build a large army and caused chaos across the Nine Realms, until she was defeated by the God Realm's army and imprisoned in the dungeon.
Lorelei licked her lips:
"Loki, little brother, how about we cooperate and break out of here?"
"The succubus... I suddenly think you have a promising future!"
Loki's eyes instantly lit up, and in a flash, he sat up from his bed.
