As a Harrison, Remy was the legal heiress to the Harrison Group. But with Helena manipulating her father and cutting her off from the family, Remy doubted she'd even be able to get a job as a clerk or receptionist at the company.
Remy's father, Grant, had never been the most attentive parent, even when her mother was alive. But after her mother's death, he seemed to care even less. Remy wondered if it was because of her mother's passing or if he simply hated her.
Remy had decided to take on her mother's surname, Vaughn, to keep her mother's legacy alive.
Her mother had built Vaughn Glory from scratch, using her own surname to create a lasting legacy for their family. Remy's mother had wanted her family's name to be known and respected, and Remy desired to carry on that dream.
With Helena and Sophia's influence, Remy felt like she was being erased from her family. She wondered if she'd ever be able to reclaim her rightful place in the Harrison family and at Vaughn Glory.

Remy knew her father was serious about Julian and Sophia getting married, but the reality of the situation didn't fully sink in until she saw the wedding preparations of the man she loved, and the woman who had made her life miserable for years unfold before her eyes. It was like a nightmare come true.
She had sat idly by, feeling helpless and pained, designer wedding gowns were brought in for Sophia to try on.
Sophia rejected many, searching for the perfect one. Meanwhile, wedding planners and caterers bustled around the house, holding meetings and making hurried decisions.
Calls were made to the cake designer, decorator, and caterer. Invitations were printed, and the wedding announcement was even featured in the news. Remy felt like she was watching a train wreck in slow motion, unable to do anything.
Her heart ached much and she decided to confront Julian when she saw him standing alone, busy on his phone. She demanded answers from him.
"Why did you do this, Julian?" Remy asked, her voice shaking. "Why did you cheat on me with Sophia, of all women?"
Julian looked at her with disdain, his eyes staring down at her. "You really thought I'd marry you, Remy?" he sneered. "I can have any woman I want. What made you think a cripple like you is special?"
"Sophia is beautiful, delicate, and she gives me what you've always refused," Julian continued. "You never let me get close to you, but Sophia... she's different. What made you think I'd still want to marry you?"
"Look, Remy, I might have loved you before, but now I don't," Julian said, his voice cold. "I don't even want to see you. You're just a waste of my time."
With that, Julian turned around and walked away, leaving Remy feeling shattered. His casual departure like they hadn't once been together crushed her heart.
Remy sat there, her head bowed, as tears streamed down her face. She felt like she'd been punched in the gut.
Why had Julian done it this way? If he didn't want her anymore, he could have just told her. She would have tried to understand.
But instead, he had to hurt her so deeply, making her feel like she was worthless. Remy felt like she was broken into a million pieces, and she didn't know how to put herself back together again.
Days later, Sophia and Julian held their engagement. The engagement date that was supposed to be Remy's was now Sophia's, and it was all over the media.
They were beaming with happiness, and to make matters worse, they had announced that they were expecting a child.
Remy was devastated. She felt like her world had been turned upside down. The news of their engagement and pregnancy was everywhere, with people congratulating and envying them.
Remy couldn't bear it anymore. She felt overwhelmed and heartbroken. That night, she decided she couldn't stay in her family's home anymore and left for the Ang Hotel, a hotel her mother's family used to manage.
It wasn't a complete five-star hotel, but it was still a good place to stay and the only place Remy could run away to.
In a daze, Remy went to the wrong room, 353 instead of 535. She didn't notice the mistake and went inside, feeling exhausted.
She decided to take a bath and filled the tub with water. She sank into the water, submerging her head, and stayed there for over 20 minutes, unable to muster the strength to get out.
Deth Kaidën, a wealthy and mysterious figure, had just returned to Country A. He decided to stay at a regular hotel, the Ang Hotel, instead of going back to his family's estate.
Although the manager knew him and had given him the best suite in the hotel, Deth wanted to keep a low profile.
As he was getting dressed, a girl in a wheelchair rolled into his room. Deth was taken aback, wondering who she was and how she knew he was there. But the sad look on her face told him that she wasn't a paparazzi or a reporter.
The girl began to undress and fill up the bathtub. Deth watched in confusion as she sank into the water and stayed there for twenty minutes thinking she was some kind of trap.
He didn't hear any sounds, and he started to get worried. He decided to step in, finding her slumped under the water, unconscious.
Deth quickly lifted her out of the bathtub, wrapped her in a towel, and laid her on the bed. He performed CPR on her, and after a few moments, she sneezed out water and coughed. She slumped back again and fell asleep.
Deth left her alone, and thirty minutes later, Remy woke up, gasping for air.
The rest was history. It might have been attraction at first sight, but as Deth asked Remy questions, trying to understand why she was so sad and why she had tried to drown herself, something shifted between them. Remy didn't answer his questions, but somehow, they found themselves drawn to each other.
Remy decided to let go of her inhibitions and be selfish for once. She would seek her own happiness, even if it was just for one night.
After all, Sophia and Julian were probably cuddled up together somewhere, enjoying each other's company. Why shouldn't she do the same?
As she surrendered to Deth's embrace, Remy felt a mix of emotions. She was nervous, knowing it was her first time, but he was careful with her, it was no doubt an unforgettable experience and she didn't want to think too much about it.
She told herself that tomorrow, she would leave, and everything would be forgotten. There were no strings attached, no expectations. It was just one night of freedom, one night to forget her heartache.
The next morning, Remy woke up first and quietly got ready to leave. She managed a bath, dressed, and before exiting the hotel room, she glanced back at Deth, thinking she saw him stir. She whispered, more to herself than to him, "I'm sorry for last night. It was a mistake."
She added, "You might want to save a damsel in distress in two weeks at the Grand Ballroom." Remy mentioned the venue of Sophia and Julian's wedding, knowing she might be forced to attend by her parents.
The thought of watching Sophia and Julian get married, looking perfect in everyone's eyes, while she was portrayed as the villain, was too much to bear.
Julian had already twisted the story, claiming Remy was the one who cheated on him, which was why he left her. Remy hoped that maybe, just maybe, Deth would show up at the wedding and rescue her from the pain.
With that thought, she left the hotel, helped by the attendance, and took a taxi back home.
