Once more Seth was plunged into the abyssal space of endless darkness, he couldn't see, he couldn't hear but this time he could feel.
Though it was subtle he could feel intricate strings of essence entangling themselves within him, he knew what was happening, the strings of soul essence were forming together weaving him a core.
By the time he would arrive back home, he would become a bona fide C-class irregular.
The ranks of irregulars were determined by the number of abilities they possessed, with D-class being the lowest, and S-class being the peak, meaning the maximum amount of ability a human soul could contain was known to be five, according to Seth's knowledge there hasn't been any one who had surpassed that number.
But just because an irregular had more abilities therefore being of a high class didn't always mean they were stronger than a lower class irregular, some people were just built differently, just like Seth's second ability 'The Cameraman's Replication' would allow him to fight those of a higher class, as it could mimic and display various abilities.
Seth always believed that the S-class was the peak of power, he had seen videos and clips of S-class irregulars displaying their powers and abilities, and none of them could compare to the mysterious man he just encountered, though his mother displayed something similar by transporting the lunarians away from earth with a wave of her hand it came with a cost, her life.
He speculated that such a being couldn't possibly be human, the man had to be a divine being, with the feats he pulled off. He was definitely a being that deserved to be called transcendent.
And even with all his power and might Seth noticed something towards the end the man seemed scared, or more frankly nervous.
Was it possible for there to be beings in that era that could elicit such emotions from a man of such strength? Did humanities really birth such powerhouses?
A being that could reverse time on a whim, and could wrap space with a thought...
A fire lit within Seth 'Cultivation? Is it? I can't wait to try it out. Just as Seth's thought reached this juncture, he felt a silent tug on his soul and this time he didn't resist.
His soul was returned to his original body, and his body appeared back on the couch of his sitting room, the exact place he left.
And something wonderful was happening to him, if he was conscious he would have experienced the wonderful feeling of being baptized by a vast influx of essence, that seeped into his body finding a home in his newly established soul core that rested within the upper region of his solar plexus….
This time while Seth was fast asleep this time he wasn't plagued by any haunting dreams of sorts, and he was finally getting his well-deserved rest.
…Few Hours Later.....
Bang! Bang! Bang!
A rapid succession of knocks rang on the door, disrupting Seth's beauty sleep.
Yawn!
He yawned and stretched, he sat up on the couch and with an unfocused gaze he gazed at the familiar messy sitting room before him, before realization hit him and his eyes lit up with joy, He was back home!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Once more the forceful knocks rang out, Seth frowned who could be so rude, couldn't they ring the doorbell? He walked to the door he paused before opening it.
"System" he called out.
And an interface popped into his view.
[Host has called] The system replied.
Only after seeing this reply did he relax, thankfully the whole ordeal wasn't a dream.
And there was something else, as the system replied a series of icons appeared at the corner of his vision he was just about to focus on these icons when…..
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The forceful knocks rang out again, by now he already had a good guess of who was knocking so violently there was only one person that he knew that didn't take the liberty of using the doorbell, then he reached for the door and opened it.
And he was met with a furious gust of heat, a familiar trait that followed an uncle of his around.
"Uncle Kendric Wel-"
"Don't you Uncle me young man!" a man's voice interrupted Seth's greetings.
A figure of a middle man came into view, he had a disgruntled expression showing he was displeased, he had a very tall physique his height bordering 7.5 feet, with a figure that was neither bulky nor slim, it was just moderate, he had a bright red hair that was shaped in a wolf cut, and.
He wore military attire with nine stars branded on his chest and a name tag that read, 'Admiral Kendrick.
Seeing Seth's clueless face staring back at him, he scolded "Don't act innocent boy, just because your grieving doesn't give you the right to ignore the martial law".
"Martial law?" Seth echoed tilting his head in confusion.
"don't play dumb with me, the martial law was announced eight days ago, you were supposed to be moved to the enforcers base like the rest of your mates for training"
Only after hearing this did Seth understand what was happening, his eyes widened in shock.
It seemed his ordeal which had only been a day to him, had been distorted through some strange time dilation making it last over eight or more days in the present world.
Seeing his shocked expression, Admiral Kendrick, stern expression softened a little as he thought 'Don't tell this lad had been so devastated in grief that he lost track of time'.
Shaking his head with a sigh he instructed Seth "Go pack your valuables, we are leaving for the camp now".
Seth leaving the door open ran into the house to quickly pack up before he was berated any further.
Rushing into his room he packed some clothes, and accessories, moving to his mother's room he took a frame depicting both their images and her chest tag for remembrance then he ran back to go meet Kendrick outside the house.
They both got into a black futuristic-looking hovercar.
Admiral Kendrick was the one who drove, the few minutes when the journey began there was an awkward silence present within the car, neither of them knew what to say.
A lot had happened since they last met Seth had lost his mother and Kendrick had lost his friend and comrade.
'poor boy I wonder how he felt as he watched it happen' Kendrick thought sighing inwardly such a tragic battle wasn't something a child was meant to watch, His hands tightened their grips on the steering as he blamed himself 'if only I was stronger they would have picked me instead of her'.
Glancing sideways at the boy, and seeing his lifeless look, he assumed the boy was still traumatized by what happened eight days ago, so he decided to start a conversation to take Seth's mind off it.
"I see you've formed your soul core, what ability did you get?" He asked.
