"I've already planted a large number of space-time shock bombs in both the Digital World and the Human World. Only I know where they are. If I don't return on time to deactivate them, they'll explode."
It was a lie.
Kurata had made it up just to shake off Spencer Damon.
But he was sure Spencer would believe it—because of his righteousness.
Spencer Damon wouldn't risk the safety of both worlds.
Kurata wore a confident smile. "Time's almost up."
Spencer felt the pressure mount inside him.
While fighting off Biomeric Thunderbirmon's attacks, BanchouLeomon shouted, "Spencer! That Kurata is just a weakling—grab him and punch the bomb locations out of him!"
You bastard!Who are you calling weak?!
A cold gleam flashed in Kurata's eyes. He cursed the savage Digimon internally—fool, just you wait till I smash you to bits!
But Spencer's eyes lit up. He suddenly slammed a fist into the ground.
The punch, charged with DigiSoul, struck the Digital World's earth with immense force.
Boom!Dust and debris flew everywhere.
Kurata's heart skipped a beat as he quickly backed away. Gizmon XT moved in to shield him while he played it cool: "Cornered animals fight back, huh? Fine, let me give you a little gift."
As he spoke, he pressed a hidden switch inside his pocket.
At the same moment, a loud explosion sounded in the distance.
A portal connecting the Digital World to the Human World opened!
"!" Spencer, who had just been ready to flatten Kurata, was suddenly faced with a dilemma.
Kurata grinned. "That's just the first one. There are many more space-time shock bombs. They'll all go off soon. Spencer Damon, what are you going to do now?"
"You're despicable, Kurata!" Spencer growled through gritted teeth.
"Don't slander a good man," Kurata replied with a cheerful smile, completely unfazed.
Those who achieve greatness can't sweat the small stuff. Once I conquer the world, I'll eliminate everyone who knows about my dirty secrets. Why bother getting mad now?
With the threat of the space-time bombs looming, neither Spencer nor BanchouLeomon dared to make a reckless move.
The scene was frozen in tense silence.
Spencer wanted to stop the explosions, but Kurata obviously wouldn't let him walk away that easily.
Would he attack the moment Spencer tried to leave?
"Hm?"
Just then, both BanchouLeomon and Biomeric Thunderbirmon turned toward the same direction, as if sensing something.
"It's Crimson Gallantmon," said Biomeric Thunderbirmon.
Powerful Digimon could sense one another across tens, even hundreds, of kilometers—unless the other party was actively hiding their presence.
The fact that Biomeric Thunderbirmon could sense the presence of Crimson Gallantmon meant they had crossed paths before.
And indeed, they had.
Not only had they fought, but Biomeric Thunderbirmon had been completely defeated, barely escaping thanks to the sacrifice of dozens of Gizmon XT.
Now, sensing Crimson Gallantmon again, Biomeric Thunderbirmon felt both rage and fear.
The rage came from being powerless—despite enduring the agony of becoming a Mega-level fusion, he still wasn't the strongest.
The fear was because Crimson Gallantmon was just too powerful. With only a few Gizmon XT left, they likely couldn't escape this time.
Kurata's heart skipped a beat at the mention of Crimson Gallantmon.
Before encountering him, Kurata hadn't imagined such a powerful Digimon could exist in the Digital World...
Too powerful. So powerful that Kurata had been forced to act with caution, no longer daring to act as recklessly as before.
Even with that thought, he kept a smug look on his face and sneered, "Spencer Damon, looks like you just got lucky."
With that, he retreated behind several Gizmon XT under Spencer's watchful eyes.
The Gizmon XT couldn't beat Spencer, and they couldn't land a hit on the agile BanchouLeomon either. But they could delay the pair for a bit—good enough to act as bodyguards.
"BanchouLeomon, let's stop the space-time shock bombs first." Spencer wanted to catch Kurata, but stopping the bombs was more urgent.
After all, Kurata could be caught another day—but the chance to stop the bombs was now or never.
So, he had no choice but to let Kurata go and quickly headed off with BanchouLeomon.
When they reached the site of the explosion, they only found some tire tracks on the ground—nothing else.
"Spencer, what's going on?" asked BanchouLeomon.
Spencer frowned. "There used to be a car here. Maybe even a tent—Kurata's temporary base. But now it's all gone... I think it was sucked into the portal created by the space-time shock bomb."
He rubbed his temples and groaned. "We've been duped by Kurata!"
BanchouLeomon was just about to ask more when a massive figure descended from the sky.
Clad in white armor, with a large shield in his left hand and a knight's lance in his right, a red cape flowing behind—one of the Royal Knights, Crimson Gallantmon.
"Spencer Damon, why are you still here?"
After Spencer gave a brief explanation, Crimson Gallantmon asked, "Where's Kurata?"
Spencer thought for a moment. "I think he's already left the Digital World."
…
Meanwhile, Kurata was being carried by a Gizmon XT, leading the remaining Gizmon XT and the reverted Sei deep into a forest, running fast.
After about three kilometers, they hid in a cave within a canyon to rest.
Sei lay on the ground, thinking about how he had been forced to flee by Crimson Gallantmon, and anger surged within him. "Running like this—what a joke! Kurata, give me more power—power that can defeat Crimson Gallantmon!"
…Annoying little punk.
Kurata's eyes flashed with disdain, but he still spoke in a gentle tone. "Thunderbirmon is already a Mega-level. If you want to get stronger, you'll need to absorb more life energy—and that's exactly what we're doing now."
Sei pushed himself up and asked, "We've collected a lot of life energy already—why haven't you given it to me?"
Kurata replied, "In that case, let's go back to the Human World."
"Why?" Sei asked, confused.
Adjusting his glasses, Kurata looked at Sei like he was looking at a worthless object. "Injecting the energy into you requires a safe place and proper equipment. I already sent those to the Human World."
He had left two Gizmon XT behind at the temporary base. When the bomb exploded, they would protect the equipment and return through the portal to the Human World.
Once back, they could retrieve the gear.
Sei, obsessed with gaining power, didn't notice the change in Kurata's expression and eagerly said, "Then let's go back already!"
Kurata pulled a space-time shock bomb from his pocket, tossed it, activated it, and once the portal opened, led the Gizmon XT and Sei through it—back to the Human World.
After over half a month, Kurata finally returned to the Human World—only to be stunned by what he saw.
The once-classified images of Digimon were now appearing openly in advertisements all over the streets!
What the…?
Kurata was completely dumbfounded, almost thinking he'd entered the wrong world.
Don't worry, folks—Kurata won't last more than three chapters.
