Chapter 55 - Daolon Wong, You Came at the Perfect Time

The Dark Enforcer, ever alert, sensed Moss at the same time she spotted him. Without hesitation, he summoned a boomerang and hurled it in her direction.

The boomerang, fitted with three razor-sharp blades, spun through the air like a circular saw, deadly and unstoppable!

Clang!

Suddenly, the spinning ceased. The boomerang stopped mid-air—frozen in place.

It was caught. A single gloved hand had gripped one of the blades. That hand belonged to Moss—her left hand, clad in a white glove.

Compared to her ungloved right hand, Moss's gloved left hand had slightly better defensive power.

"!"

The Dark Enforcer was stunned. She caught it—with her bare hand?

That was ten times more impressive than catching a blade barehanded!

His surprise lasted only a moment. He wasn't one for deep emotion. Even sensing her strength, he simply raised his hand and clenched his fist, mentally recalling his weapon.

Buzz, buzz, buzz!

Moss felt the boomerang tremble in her grip. The Dark Enforcer was attempting to retrieve it through telekinetic control—a common ability among them.

But she wasn't going to let him succeed.

With a flick of her right hand, she unwrapped the pink ribbon from her arm.

The ribbon, inspired by the flowing sashes of mythical immortals, was inscribed with lines of mysterious Digicode. It emanated a sacred and arcane aura and was exceptionally durable.

Like a serpent, the ribbon wrapped tightly around the boomerang—layer upon layer—sealing it into a neat little bundle. Heavenly Violet Light shimmered across the wrapping, severing the weapon's bond to its master.

"?!"

The Dark Enforcer was shocked again.

Though outmatched, he still charged at Moss, perhaps hoping to reclaim his weapon.

Moss took a half-step back, pivoted smoothly, and delivered a spinning kick. Her long, graceful right leg lashed out like a white whip, and her hardened heel smashed into his face.

Boom!

The blow would've crippled a normal person. The Dark Enforcer exploded into black smoke and vanished.

"He's gone?" came a small voice nearby.

Moss turned to see—Jade.

She reflexively asked, "Jade, what are you doing here…"

"Stairs," Jade replied casually.

Right. With the Rabbit Talisman, even stairs became a flash step.

Moss sighed internally. Jade's initiative could be too strong for her own good.

"Who was that weird guy?" Jade asked.

"A Dark Enforcer. He fled," Moss replied.

Dark Enforcers dissipated into smoke when struck down—a failsafe Daolon Wong had implemented to retrieve them safely.

It was oddly considerate.

No need to worry about losing them forever. No risk of accidentally killing them during punishment...

"A Dark Enforcer? One of Shendu's minions?" Jade asked.

"No, he belongs to another faction."

Moss had been looking for Daolon Wong. Since the Dark Enforcer wouldn't lead her to him, she wrapped up his weapon on purpose. The boomerang could be tracked.

She just needed a tracking spell.

Though Moss couldn't cast one herself, Uncle did.

She turned to Jade with a smile. "Let's go, Jade. We're hunting a Dark Enforcer."

"Yay!" Jade cheered—always up for adventure.

She loved places like Moose World, but she loved weird magical stuff even more.

Elsewhere, in a desolate mountain region, stood an old mansion.

Inside the normally pitch-dark and deserted home, a purple glow flickered—a cauldron filled with luminescent violet liquid, like the witch's brew of fairytales.

This cauldron had a master—not a witch, but the world's most powerful dark chi wizard.

White-haired, heterochromatic, dressed in black with a lean frame.

He was an old man known as Daolon Wong.

His body brimmed with dark chi, creating a pocket dimension of pure darkness within him.

He could use this dark chi to cast spells or generate Dark Enforcers. They could return to him, either by will or by damage recall.

"Hm?"

Daolon sensed the return of one.

"Finn."

He waved his staff and summoned the recently retrieved Dark Enforcer.

Finn appeared—but empty-handed.

Daolon scowled. "I sent you to retrieve a Talisman, and this is how you return? Were you defeated? Show me who did it!"

The Enforcer couldn't speak. Daolon knew that—he wasn't asking him.

He turned instead to the cauldron.

The glowing liquid began to display images: what Finn had last seen.

A figure—an angel. A beautiful, female angel.

Daolon furrowed his brow. "Why does this angel radiate dark chi?"

A holy being should belong to the side of righteous chi. And an angel of this magnitude should have created an empty demonic void on the dark side—if it were that one-sided.

He paused. "Wait… could she be the source of the dark void from twenty years ago?"

The more he thought about it, the more it made sense.

This angel had claimed a place that wasn't hers.

That spot belonged to me. Mine!

Enraged, Daolon's thoughts were interrupted as another Enforcer returned.

"Chui."

Suppressing his fury, he summoned the new arrival.

Chui appeared holding an octagonal stone carved with a tiger pattern in Taiji form.

"The Tiger Talisman!"

Daolon's anger evaporated in delight. He took the Talisman and gazed at it in wonder.

"Ah, the power of balance… this will bring me inner peace."

To a practitioner, a calm mind was essential—preventing mistakes or deadly backlash.

But Daolon wasn't content to keep the Talisman as-is. He wanted its power inside his body.

He set it aside and stepped up to the cauldron, placing both hands over the glowing surface and chanting.

His palms began to glow with dark violet energy.

When he withdrew them, mouths filled with sharp teeth had formed in his palms.

Perfect.

He turned toward the Talisman again.

Standing before it, he raised his hands and resumed chanting.

The Talisman began to glow blue, emitting a tiger-shaped aura—its magical essence.

As the energy floated upward toward Daolon—

Wham!

A white figure crashed into him, knocking him away.

"It belongs to me!"

The Talisman's magic flew into her.

Golden hair down to her waist. Snow-white skin. A silver mask hiding much of her face. A white asymmetrical bodysuit revealed her stunning curves.

Two belts at her waist. Two more on her right thigh. A sacred ring on her left ankle. High heels. Eight angelic wings behind her.

Holy and seductive. Restrained and unbound. Innocence and desire entwined.

A punished saint. A fallen angel—

Moss·Angewomon.
