Chapter 72 - Moss’s Unbelievable Technique

"I'll give it a try."

Kami ultimately agreed to Moss's request, deciding to attempt the development of a Ki-Storing Kikoho, based on the principles of the Evil Containment Wave.

It wasn't just to repay Moss. If successful, this would forge a whole new path to strength—benefiting not just one fighter, but the Earth's defenses as a whole.

"This is probably the greatest contribution a non-combatant like me can offer Earth."

With that resolve, Kami took Tien and re-entered the Room of the Past, hoping to find martial arts sages in history to help them develop this technique—not to break the Kikoho into smaller parts like before, but to fuse it with the Evil Containment Wave. A task that demanded innovation and even greater time investment.

While they were busy, Moss turned to the remaining fighters in the Lookout, asking to learn various battle methods.

If the Z Fighters were akin to "Ki Mages," then Moss was a similar kind—specializing in unleashing destructive techniques disproportionate to her physical strength.

She began with the fundamentals of ki.

Though she could already release ki, she still needed a strong foundation.

In this area, Mr. Popo was undoubtedly the best teacher. He gave her one core principle:

"Be still like the sky, strike like lightning."

In other words: still as a mountain, swift as thunder.

Master the first part, and you'd be able to sense ki from miles away—even through barriers, provided the other party wasn't hiding their energy.

Master the second part, and you could manipulate your ki output, unleashing blasts far beyond your normal strength—explosive ki.

There was no "Secrets of Ki Control" textbook this time, but Moss still mastered the skills of ki sensing, ki suppression, and ki explosion within a single day.

Everyone praised her natural talent.

That night, after a shower, Moss lay in the bedroom Kami had arranged for her.

While performing her usual nightly massage, she checked her status panel:

Name: MossRace: Digimon · Ultimate Level · Free Type · Angel Class · AngewomonSkills: Holy Arrow, Heavenly Violet Light, Holy Bubble, Digital Soul, Receive Magic, Talisman Power, KikohoEvolution Paths: Magnadramon 83%, LadyDevimon 60%, Lilithmon 50%, Ophanimon 15%, Mastemon (uncertain)Crossover Countdown: 27 days

Looking at the 60% chance of evolving into LadyDevimon, Moss muttered, "Even after mastering such powerful negative energy, it's still just sixty percent?"

That negative energy, while weaker than Super Saiyan Gohan—even his base full power—was still far stronger than a standard LadyDevimon or Lilithmon.

So why wasn't the evolution chance maxed out?

"Maybe, like with SlashAngemon, the last piece isn't about darkness—it's something else?"

That seemed likely. But what exactly was missing?

"Perhaps it's me," Angewomon said softly, a tinge of guilt in her voice.

Moss paused her hand. "Why do you say that?"

Angewomon replied, "I revere light and justice, and I walk the holy path toward becoming a Seraphim."

Which made perfect sense, Moss thought—she was, after all, an Angewomon.

Angewomon continued, "Before we became soul-bound, I completely rejected dark power. That's changed. I've slowly come to accept it… but I still feel intense resistance toward evolving into LadyDevimon."

They were natural enemies—hard-coded into their Digicores.

Like the legends of Mastemon say, it would take an extinction-level event for those two to truly reconcile.

Angewomon blamed herself for hindering Moss's access to Mastemon's power.

"I'm sorry, Moss. I just need a little time."

But Moss just smiled and said, "It's okay, don't stress about it."

Angewomon added, "But Mastemon's power is crucial to our research on Crossover. I'll make it happen, I promise… I just need some time to adjust."

After a moment's thought, Moss smiled and said lightly, "Mastemon isn't the only Digimon linked to time-space powers. There are other paths. Like…"

She was going to say Millenniummon.

That was her first thought for time-manipulating Digimon—introduced in Digimon Adventure 02.

But she paused, realizing that Millenniummon also contained both angelic and demonic elements.

It was a fusion of Machinedramon and Kimeramon, the latter being a patchwork of Digimon body parts—including angel wings and a demon hand.

"Like what?" Angewomon asked.

She truly didn't want her emotional conflict to hinder their research.

Moss's mind raced—then she recalled a few more time-aligned Digimon: "Clockmon, Wisemon… Yes! Wisemon! He needs vast knowledge to function—something you're really good at!"

"Really?" Angewomon lit up.

"Absolutely," Moss affirmed.

To help Moss access Crossover powers using her own strengths—not by compromising her principles—made Angewomon feel at peace.

Moss added, "Bulma's built a time machine. She must have tons of research material. Once we're done training at the Lookout, let's go study with her."

"Okay!" Angewomon said eagerly.

The next morning, the sun rose on a new day.

On the Lookout platform, Moss and Piccolo faced off in combat stances.

Gohan, Krillin, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, and Mr. Popo stood nearby, watching.

Whoosh!Moss and Piccolo vanished from sight, their white and green forms clashing mid-air in a flurry of punches and kicks.

When Moss first arrived in the Dragon Ball world, she felt immense awe for the Z Fighters. But once she understood their fighting style, she realized her physical strength wasn't that different.

And that led to today's sparring match.

"Moss is improving so fast—it's like she's a Saiyan," Krillin said, amazed.

Yamcha nodded silently, feeling a little outclassed.

Everyone knew Piccolo's true power. Even if he suppressed himself to match Moss's level, he could still outmaneuver her with ease.

And he did, at the start.

But as the fight went on, Moss's speed, reaction time, and combo execution rapidly improved—her fighting skill was skyrocketing.

It was like watching a Saiyan grow stronger mid-battle.

But Piccolo noticed something even more shocking.

"You're using ki-sensing in combat already?"

Sensing ki and applying it in battle were two different levels. The latter required the instincts of a seasoned warrior.

At the beginning, Moss still relied on visual cues to track Piccolo. But later, it was like she anticipated his every move before he even made it.

That was the hallmark of someone fighting by sensing ki.

She had just learned it yesterday—and now she'd already mastered it in combat.

Angewomon-level talent.

Even Piccolo, a born fighter, was stunned.

Moss explained, "I once had something similar to the 'mind's eye.' The technique felt familiar, so I remembered what that was like and applied it."

"…What?" Piccolo blinked.

Had the ability once? And then forgot?

Who does that?

This angel was weird.

What Moss meant was—when she received the soul of Venusmon, she had the mind's eye ability. She wasn't using Receive Magic now, but she remembered how it felt.

Hence, "I once had it."

Naturally, Piccolo had no idea what she meant.

Just then—both Moss and Piccolo paused, reacting to something.

The others—Gohan, Krillin, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, and Mr. Popo—noticed it too. They had all felt the same thing.

They turned toward the palace doors—

Out stepped Kami and Tien.

"Did it work?"

"It did."
