"..."
After Yamu was decapitated, a faint sigh echoed in the sky—tinged with a sense of regret.
She could hear the sound, but couldn't sense any energy.
Who could it be?
Moss dismissed the Ki Disc and quickly deduced who it must be.
The Supreme Kai!
Since Babidi's pawns had already shown up, the appearance of the Supreme Kai was only natural.
Of course, gods have ki too—but divine ki is different. Ordinary people can't sense it.
Moss could sense the Earth's Guardian's ki, but it carried a faint illusory quality.
It seemed divine ki also came in different levels. The Guardian's ki could still be felt, but those on a higher divine plane? Not so much.
…Back to the point—should she show herself and meet the Supreme Kai?
Moss quickly made her decision.
In the original timeline, the main cast assisted the Supreme Kai, yet Babidi still managed to break Majin Buu's seal. If she didn't help him now, Babidi might not gather enough energy to do so anytime soon.
So, the best plan was simple—run!
Moss immediately dashed into the nearby forest, staying invisible with the Snake Talisman's power, vanishing from sight at high speed.
"You have any idea who's in front of you?!"
Kibito descended from the sky, hovering over Yamu's corpse, arms crossed behind his back. Standing tall and proud, he pointed to the side.
"This is the greatest deity in the universe—Supreme Kai himself! And you, lowly earth angel—how dare you not show yourself!"
The Supreme Kai, Shin, said mildly, "Kibito, she's already gone."
Kibito froze, nearly thinking he'd misheard.
The Supreme Kai had descended, and that Earth's little divine envoy had the audacity to flee?
Unbelievable!
This was unthinkable within Kibito's worldview.
He focused and tried sensing her—sure enough, Moss's ki was already dozens of kilometers away, and still rapidly distancing. His face flushed with frustration.
"How disrespectful!"
Supreme Kai Shin wasn't angry, merely said, "She likely mistook us for Babidi's men. We must've frightened her. Let's forgive her, Kibito."
And judging by her ki and battle techniques, Shin figured Moss wasn't much stronger than Yamu or Spopovich—she wouldn't help their operation much anyway, so there was no need to chase her.
Kibito snorted coldly. "Just an Earth-level divine envoy—short-sighted! To mistake the Supreme Kai, who shoulders the safety of the cosmos, for a villain like Babidi."
Shin didn't argue. He wasn't upset, but a bit disappointed.
He had hoped to follow Moss and locate Babidi's hideout. Now that this plan failed, he had to think of a new one.
Looking at Yamu's body, an idea struck him. "Let's go to the afterlife. If we can find their souls, we can ask them where Babidi is."
Kibito's eyes lit up in admiration. "As expected of the Supreme Kai! You so easily thought of a remedy!"
"…Let's go," Shin said calmly.
As he spoke, he placed a hand on Kibito's shoulder.
As Supreme Kai, Shin possessed unrivaled creative power, while Kibito had the ability to teleport between the living world and the afterlife.
"Yes, sir!" Kibito responded.
Whoosh!
In a flash, both figures vanished from Earth.
…
Moss fled for several hundred kilometers until she reached a desolate mountain area. She waited an hour—no one came after her. Relieved, she exhaled:
"Looks like we avoided getting dragged into it."
Then she flew into the sky, heading straight for West City—a beam of white light streaking across the sky.
Soon, she returned to West City and told Bulma she wanted to study.
Bulma took her to the family study and handed her a stack of books. "These are the ones I grew up reading. If you don't understand anything, come ask me."
Moss flipped open the first page—and quickly began to feel drowsy.
So… Sleep Technique!
Well, she didn't actually know that move. And unlike Jackie Chan's niece Jade, she couldn't fall asleep in under a second. So she just found a place to lie down and slowly drifted off.
Then Angewomon took over her body and began reading. Moss and Angewomon had long divided roles—one for body, one for mind.
This reading scene was reflected in a crystal ball—watched by none other than Babidi himself!
"She's quite the studious angel," Babidi squinted, sneering. He didn't care about Yamu or Spopovich's deaths, but he definitely wanted that angel's energy.
"I'll leave it to you, Pui Pui."
"Yes, Lord Babidi,"
From the shadows stepped a figure—wearing a black bodysuit and white armor, his elongated head reminiscent of an alien. Only his purple-skinned face was exposed.
Pui Pui!
A cruel beast from a planet with ten times Earth's gravity.
Babidi's hideout was also his spaceship. Pui Pui stepped into the topmost room of the ship. It was nearly empty except for an elevator-like platform in the center.
As befitting the top dark magician of the universe, Babidi's ship didn't have much in the way of tech—only magical devices.
Like that platform.
Pui Pui stood on it, and Babidi used the magic circle to cast a teleportation spell. In a blink, the ship interior turned into Bulma's study.
"—!"
Angewomon, immersed in the sea of knowledge, jumped in fright, instantly dropping the book and leaping away. She turned, facing the alien-like figure, and demanded:
"Who are you?!"
"Me?"
Pui Pui, arrogant by nature, disdained sneak attacks. He just smiled confidently. "I'm the hunter. And you're the prey."
Angewomon noticed the M mark on his forehead and understood.
Moss had miscalculated. They were now caught in the storm.
"Miss, I suggest you don't resist." Pui Pui grinned—and in the next instant, vanished.
Not teleportation, just sheer speed.
So fast it appeared like instant movement.
Bam!
Angewomon took a knee to the gut, her body folding like a shrimp.
The pain jolted Moss awake.
She grabbed Pui Pui's knee and used it to push herself back. Seeing his face clearly, she instantly understood the situation.
Pui Pui—one of Babidi's henchmen.
In the original, easily taken down by base form Vegeta. A stepping-stone level villain.
But she wasn't Vegeta. Even using all her stored power, including dark energy, she might not match Buu Saga-era base Vegeta.
So this "stepping-stone" villain… was a serious threat!
Moss quickly activated the Snake Talisman's invisibility power.
She didn't know if it would work, but it was better than nothing.
Pui Pui shrugged, sighing. "That's why I told you not to resist. What a waste of my strength."
At that moment, he unleashed a powerful ki burst.
Boom!
Like a tornado erupting from the ground, it instantly shattered the entire study.
Bulma and her assistants heard the blast and rushed over—only to see ruins where the study used to be. A scene as terrifying as the Androids' arrival years ago. The assistants turned pale in horror.
Could it be… another demon like the Androids?
"There's evil energy in West City!"
All across the planet, Z-Fighters felt the shift. Dropping whatever they were doing, they launched into the sky—racing toward West City at full speed.
