Under a crystal-clear sky, atop the Cell Games arena—
A golden, diamond-shaped energy beam shot straight toward the host of this "game"—Cell.
No one except Future Gohan could have predicted that Moss would unleash such overwhelming power. It was as unbelievable as an ant breathing atomic fire.
"?!"
This was Cell's second time facing the Tri-Beam.
But unlike last time, this time he faced it head-on and had the chance to counter it.
BOOM!!!The earth quaked violently.
Even on the other side of the planet, people felt the tremors.
And the epicenter of that cataclysm? The Cell Games arena.
The stage Cell had meticulously prepared had been obliterated, yet Cell himself wasn't destroyed—he had held on.
"Haah!"Cell raised both hands, releasing golden energy to block the Tri-Beam.
Tien Shinhan was stunned. "Cell can use the Tri-Beam too?!"
Piccolo's brow tightened. "That monster doesn't just have all of our DNA—he has all of our moves!"
Cell smirked.
After all, he was the perfect lifeform, created by a computer over twenty years using the genetic material and combat techniques of the strongest fighters.
He was invincible.
A Tri-Beam? Please—anyone could use that.
The two golden, diamond-shaped energy blasts collided, releasing a deafening roar that shook the sky. Where they met, a chaotic energy field formed—anyone caught within it would be instantly torn apart.
And this field was shifting toward Moss—indicating that Cell's output was higher. He was gaining the upper hand.
"That girl's gonna lose!" Kid Gohan and Future Trunks shouted anxiously.
Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, Tien—all seasoned warriors—sensed it too. From their experience, Moss couldn't win this clash.
Unless… she still had more power to unleash.
Was that possible?
Absolutely.
Future Gohan smiled calmly. "Cell walked right into it."
When Moss first fired the Tri-Beam, Cell could have dodged.
But now that they were locked in a beam struggle, there was no backing out.
It was like a martial arts duel—once they were trading internal energy, someone was bound to suffer serious injury.
And Moss hadn't even used full power. She had ten billion units of energy stored in her Great Demon Seal, and this blast had only used one hundred million.
The point was to bait Cell into thinking he could handle it.
Once they locked beams—it was game over.
"9.9 Billion Energy – Tri-Beam!"
At that instant, Moss poured the rest of her energy into the blast. Her Tri-Beam's power surged nearly a hundredfold, obliterating Cell's energy wave instantly.
"WHAT?!"
Cell's expression twisted in horror.
The next moment, heaven and earth shattered.
"Impossible… IMPOSSIBLE AHHHH—!"
Cell gave everything he had to resist, but the overwhelming power of 9.9 billion units consumed him entirely—grinding his body to powder… then dust.
The golden beam streaked across the horizon, pierced the sky, and shot into outer space.
"Cell… is he dead?"
Everyone stood frozen, speechless.
Vegeta was sweating as he stared at Moss in disbelief. "Her energy felt so weak… how did she do this?"
This wasn't just his confusion—it was shared by everyone, except Future Gohan.
"She's not just suppressing her ki…" Goku murmured.
He could still vaguely sense the deep reservoir of power inside Future Gohan, but Moss was different—Goku couldn't sense anything.
It wasn't simple ki suppression.
"You're right," said Future Gohan—then his eyes narrowed sharply.
"—!"
Everyone stiffened. They looked up.
"No way…"
"He… survived?!"
Floating above was Cell—wheezing, but alive.
How?
Just before the 9.9 billion Tri-Beam struck, Cell had used a technique—"Split and Flee"—to launch his head away.
His body was vaporized, but his head survived. Thanks to Frieza's super resilience, and Piccolo's regeneration, he grew a new body.
Though he was alive, the process had consumed a huge amount of energy.
He had absorbed Androids 17 and 18, who provided infinite energy—but Cell himself didn't have it.
This wasn't a noble, dramatic comeback—it was a desperate escape.
"If Goku fights me now, I probably wouldn't win."
He shot a glance at Goku and frowned.
Then he locked eyes on Moss.
Though her power seemed weak, her energy pool was massive. If he could absorb it, he'd be back at full strength!
Moss also noticed Cell's survival.
She admired his tenacity—but she had no more energy. It was time to let Future Gohan finish it. Her job was done.
SWOOSH!
But Cell didn't wait—he zipped over to Moss, his tail unfurling from behind.
Its tip was needle-sharp—the same tail he used to drain life energy from humans in his imperfect form.
To absorb Androids, it had morphed into a suction cup.
As Perfect Cell, he'd let it shrink away… but now it had a use again.
"—!"
Seeing the stinger coming, Moss raised her left wing to block.
STAB!
The needle pierced her wing, still driving toward her body.
"Resistance is futile! You're weak! Without tricks, you're nothing!" Cell laughed maniacally, forcing his tail forward.
"Hahaha! In the end, I win!"
"No. You lost." Moss grabbed the tail tip with Ox Talisman strength and said flatly.
Sheep Talisman!
Magic burst forth—Cell's soul was pulled from his body.
She hadn't planned to use this move—she wanted to finish him with Tri-Beam—but since he came so close…
Might as well go with Plan B.
If he had attacked from afar, she'd have had to shout, "Gohan, save me!"
But Cell came close—so now, it was over.
"What… is this?" Cell's spirit froze in confusion.
This was beyond his comprehension.
The Z Fighters were just as confused.
Future Trunks gasped, "Why's there another Cell?"
Piccolo, with Kami's knowledge, understood immediately. "That's Cell's soul!"
Normally, people can't see spirits, but all of them were energy-sensitive warriors—they could see it clearly.
Moss didn't give Cell's soul any time to react. She hurled Cell's body into the sky.
Then, her left hand gathered dark, shadowy energy, and her right hand gathered brilliant holy light.
"Light and Dark Fusion – Chaos Tri-Beam!"
She had no more backup energy—but this blend of opposing forces, combined with Tri-Beam technique, would do the job.
"NOOO!"
Cell screamed in terror.
But it was too late.
A purple beam shot skyward, like a dragon, devouring his empty shell of a body.
With no soul to guide it, Cell's physical form—even with vast power—was just a lump of meat.
And in the face of that chaos blast, it turned to ash.
Moss turned to Cell's floating soul, gave a thumbs-down, and smirked. "Go to hell."
"Damn you—!"
Cell's soul exploded in fury… and disappeared.
Technically, he entered the afterlife.
"To hell!"
King Yemma took one glance at Cell's sins and passed judgment without hesitation. Cell tried to resist, but souls can't fight back in the afterlife.
So Cell—full of shame and fury—was dragged down to Hell.
The Cell Games ended before they even began.
Cell only achieved his perfect form due to Saiyan pride, and he died for the same reason.
If he hadn't underestimated Moss and engaged in a beam struggle, he wouldn't have died by her hand—he would've died at Future Gohan's.
"It's over!"
Trunks, Gohan, Piccolo, Tien—they all breathed sighs of relief.
Vegeta felt… complicated.
He knew he couldn't beat Cell, but watching Cell die not from raw power, but through magic and "cheap tricks," left a bitter taste.
He wanted Cell dead—just not that way.
Goku, meanwhile, felt regret.
Seeing Cell in person, he knew he wasn't strong enough. But his son Gohan was.
He patted Gohan's shoulder, chuckling. "Too bad you didn't get your moment. I was counting on you to beat Cell."
"Me?" Gohan blinked, surprised.
He didn't realize he had that kind of power.
Everyone else was stunned. Especially Piccolo—Gohan's that strong?
"!" Vegeta twitched.
Back at Kami's Lookout, he had sensed Kakarot surpassing him again.
But this? Was Gohan stronger than him now too?
He acknowledged the kid's potential—but come on, he's just a child!
"Someday," Future Gohan said, "you'll have your turn."
"…Don't tell me," Piccolo muttered, "You came back like Trunks—to warn us about another enemy?"
"Correct," Future Gohan nodded.
He explained the rise of Supreme Kai, Babidi, and Majin Buu—and urged everyone to stay alert.
Piccolo, hearing "Supreme Kai," broke into a cold sweat. Having fused with Kami, he knew the implications. "They'll appear in Age 788?"
If so, they had about a decade to prepare.
But Moss said, "Not necessarily."
Trunks added, "Right—same events, different timelines. Just like the androids."
In the future, the android siblings were ruthless killers who left only thousands alive. Here, they just stole a car.
Perspective.
Piccolo said gravely, "So they could show up anytime."
Actually, they'd appear in about seven years—but the future was never certain.
Moss chose not to share that detail.
Everyone left the Cell Games site and returned to West City.
Goku borrowed the Dragon Radar from Bulma to gather the Dragon Balls and undo the damage Cell caused.
Moss clarified her goal: study.
She used the Sheep Talisman to let Angewomon control her body and dive into full-time learning—soaking up knowledge like a sponge.
A few days later, the Z Fighters held a small get-together—a flower viewing festival. Moss, thinking rest was as important as work, brought the studious Angewomon along.
During the event, a spaceship landed.
Out came a Saiyan named Paragus, inviting Vegeta to rule a new Planet Vegeta.
Moss knew it was the Broly incident, but she stayed out of it—her energy reserves were empty anyway.
Time flew.
Ten days later.
That day, Moss didn't study. She stood alone in an open field, holding the Past Life Fragment in her right hand.
"Moss."
Future Gohan arrived from Mount Paozu, having tracked her ki to West City. "Is it time?"
Moss nodded and pointed behind him. "Yeah. Look."
"Huh?" Gohan turned around, confused.
Nothing strange.
Then—he froze.
He could no longer sense Moss's ki. She had already left this world.
Turning back, all that remained where she stood was the crystal fragment.
"She's not taking it?" Gohan murmured, kneeling to pick it up. He slipped it into his pouch and looked skyward.
"Goodbye, Moss."
"I knew I couldn't take it."
Moss looked at her now-empty right hand and sighed.
But she wasn't upset—she had already made peace with it.
Turning away, she raised her long legs and walked forward.
Ahead of her were Astamon, Goblimon, and the rest of her Digimon crew.
With a wave, she smiled and called out—
"I'm back!"
