Chapter 15 - Chapter 14

**FUKA'S MISUNDERSTANDING**

**Seriously, my luck is absolute zero today—nothing's going my way.**

I can still clearly remember my conversation with Inoue-san. My guy sense been nagging me about those tapes. *Maybe I should've taken a look—wouldn't have hurt.* Even when I offered the real thing, still rejected it.

*What the hell am I even thinking?* I should visit the bar early—maybe that'll clear my head.

**Later that evening...**

I arrived on time after changing at home, pausing at the front door.

***Sighs***

This *should* clear my mind. I'm more anxious than usual—it's my first time being directly involved in something outside my usual world.

**Sound of door opening**

*"Thanks for coming! Can we take your order?"* Yui and Fuka spoke in unison.

*"Didn't you have the day off?"* Yui asked, tilting her head.

*"Bored, I guess. Hey, Fuka-san."*

*"Hello,"* she replied sharply, as always.

Even after nearly a month together, normal conversation with Fuka still feels like crossing a bridge. On the other hand, Yui and I are… *cuddly*. She recently gave me permission to get closer—at first, I worried it was overstepping, but she's the one who keeps pushing. *"Older sister's here for you,"* she'd say.

**Hmph.** I'm exhausted, but it's been months since I've felt this alive.

The night wrapped up as usual, and we closed the bar on time. Yui left first—her place is in the opposite direction. Fuka-san, too, I assumed.

Walking down the street, I spotted news about Inoue-san leaving her agency. Then, I noticed someone approaching—**Fuka-san.**

*"Isn't your place the other way?"* I asked.

*"No, it's this way,"* she said flatly.

*"Huh? I swear I saw you take a taxi with Yui the other day..."*

*"God, you're persistent,"* she muttered. *"Fine. I slept at her place that night."*

We walked in silence for minutes. Neither of us was the type to start small talk.

*"Guess I'll cross here tomorrow,"* I said finally.

*"Wait."* She stopped me. *"I need to talk to you. Got a minute?"*

*"Yeah?"* I blinked, surprised.

*"Why are you so close to Yui-chan?"*

*What kind of question is that?* I thought. *"Uh… pardon?"*

*"I've been watching you,"* she said coldly. *"Holding hands, clinging to her—I even saw her kiss your cheek. Care to explain?"*

*"Look, it's not just me. She's the one who blurred the lines!"*

*"Regardless,"* Fuka snapped, *"tone it down."*

*Why is she so worked up?* I wondered. *"Can I ask you something?"*

*"No. I refuse."* She crossed her arms. *"Not a fan of playboys. You've never actually *felt* love, have you? Plenty of confessions, but have you ever confessed to someone yourself? Am I wrong?"*

I froze. *She's right.* I've had flings, but… *"I like you"*? Never said it.

*"Pathetic,"* she scoffed.

I stared at the streetlights, then suddenly bolted across the road—**to a random woman.**

*Confessing to her*

The traffic light turned red. I trudged back to Fuka, who stood there, stunned.

*"Got rejected,"* I announced.

*"Are you insane?!"* she hissed. *"You can't just—ugh, of course she said no!"* She covered her face.

*"Your turn,"* I said. *"Why do you care so much?"*

*"It's nothing! Just… as her friend, I—* Forget it."

*"You were gonna say something else."*

*"Sigh… Fine."* She clenched her fists. *"I—I'm into girls and

I like Yui."*

**Damn like seriously***
