Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: Blowing the Horn of a New War

"Yes, it's a bullshit armistice agreement, because the vampire empire has existed for thousands of years. Many vampires have lived for hundreds or even thousands of years." Frank took out a cigar, lit it, took a puff, and then explained the story of vampires to Jason and the others.

"Vampires will not really die unless they are killed. Maybe their strength will decline as they get older, but they will not die. When their strength declines, they need to enter a dormant state to replenish their energy. When they wake up from dormancy, they are still a lively vampire."

"Because they have existed for such a long time, many vampire families have accumulated huge wealth, and they have people in finance, arms, real estate, and even politics." Frank's words made Jason and Peter understand how influential the Vampire Empire is.

"Even in Congress there are probably vampire minions! That's why the last war ended in vain." Frank's expression was still poker-faced, and it was hard to tell whether he was happy or angry. However, one could hear Frank's dissatisfaction from his words.

"Do you mean that the current US government is controlled by a group of vampires?" Jason asked Frank. If this is true, it would be chilling to think about it.

A government composed of a group of hunters controlling the prey is as terrible as letting jackals become sheepdogs.

"People in Congress are not necessarily vampires. Some of them are just vampires." Frank said to Jason.

"The Vampires? What are those things?" Peter was also very curious today. The true appearance of this world was much more terrifying.

"A group of guys who worship vampires and do things for them. They hope to be appreciated by vampires, and then join a powerful vampire to transform themselves into vampires." Frank's explanation made Peter even more confused.

"Why? I mean, why would someone want to be a vampire? If I'm not mistaken, vampires cannot see the sunlight and can only live in darkness from now on!" Peter really doubted whether those who wanted to be vampires were crazy.

"For the sake of immortality. Once people have power and wealth, they want to keep their power and wealth forever. They want to be immortal and to enslave the people below them forever." Jason explained these people's thoughts for Frank.

After gaining power, many people want to live forever. In China, there was Qin Shi Huang who sought elixirs, and in every dynasty there were emperors and ministers who favored charlatans and Taoist priests, just for their own dream of ascending to heaven in broad daylight one day.

"Yes, it's just as Night Walker said. Our war ended without achieving its full effect." Frank said with some regret.

"Then it seems that this thing is very important to vampires." Jason picked up the small box they were trading before from the ground.

An old parchment scroll lay quietly in the box, and it looked like it had gone through thousands of years of wind and frost.

The entire scroll still looked tattered. Jason didn't dare to pick it up, for fear that he would tear it apart.

"Yes, no matter what the vampires want, we must stop them." Frank took the box from Jason's hand.

"What should we do now? Should we inform the government about what happened here?" Peter and Jason are both having a headache now, wondering how to wrap up the incident here.

This involves a mysterious Red Water Security Company, a vampire empire living in the underground society, and thousands of people in the warehouse.

"If you don't want to expose your target, just leave first. I will notify someone to deal with the problem here." Frank threw away the empty cigar.

The cigar head bounced directly onto the face of another vampire. Because he was tied up by spider silk, the vampire could not move and could only endure the pain of the cigar burning on his face.

Jason suspected that Frank did it on purpose.

"Then what should we do with these two vampires? And the lizard over here." Peter pointed at the tied-up vampire and the chameleon whose hands were cut off and whose spine was damaged by Jason, making him unable to move.

Reed's face was now terribly pale because he had lost too much blood. The wound was no longer bleeding, but he had no strength left in his body.

"Let's just get rid of these two vampires." Frank looked at the remaining two vampires with a little disgust.

He took out the mithril dagger and stabbed it directly into the vampire tied to the ground. Just like the vampire that had just been killed, this vampire also turned into ashes after a flash of red light.

As for the other falling vampire, Frank picked up the dagger and used it as a throwing knife, killing it with one blow.

"Don't you need any survivors if you kill us all?" Jason asked when he saw two vampires turned into ashes. It was still unknown what these vampires wanted to do.

"Vampires have a strict hierarchy. Lower-level vampires will never reveal the secrets of their superiors. This is ingrained in their genes, so don't try to get anything out of them. If you want to know something, the best way is to investigate it yourself." Frank picked up the mithril dagger and explained to Jason.

Okay~ Jason has learned another characteristic of vampires. It seems that he should just kill vampires when he meets them in the future. He won't be able to get anything out of them anyway.

"Keep this lizard for now. I think someone will be interested in him, especially the Red Water Security Company behind him." Frank tidied his clothes and began to urge Jason and Peter.

"You two should leave here first. I will notify someone to deal with things here. It will be troublesome if they see you two." Frank urged the two to leave quickly.

"Hey~ Boss, you really don't want us two to help in secret? What if these people's accomplices come? And I think we should be able to hide without being discovered." Peter was a little worried about Frank being here alone.

"My people move faster, don't worry. And don't underestimate them. Even if you are good at hiding, you will be found out by those guys." At Frank's urging, Jason and Peter left immediately.

After making sure that Jason and the other person were far enough away, Frank picked up the phone and dialed a number that had not been called for a long time. After two rings, the other end answered the call.

"Frank?" a deep voice said with a hint of doubt. "Nick Fury, I think we should talk." Frank said in a serious tone. "A new war is about to begin."
