Chapter 60 - Episode 60: "The Final Hour"

Black Squad

Episode 60: "The Final Hour"

[Scene 1 – Early Morning, Mumbai – ACP Qazi's House]

The screen opens with a quiet morning. The city breathes beneath a golden sunrise. ACP Sulaiman Qazi, dressed in plain white kurta-pajama, stands at the balcony of his modest home, sipping warm kahwa. The steam dances in the cold air.

Birds chirp. Mumbai seems at peace — almost deceivingly so.

Inside his home, the camera slowly pans across a wall filled with memories — medals, awards, team photos, and clippings of Black Squad's most challenging cases. His hand rests on a faded photograph: Episode 1, when it all began — young faces, hopeful eyes, a newly formed team.

A soft smile touches Qazi's face.

He whispers:

Qazi (softly):

"One last time..."

[Scene 2 – Mumbai Crime Branch HQ – Briefing Room]

The Black Squad sits in grim silence. Arjun Rathore, Imran Wani, Zoya, Rajveer, and others gather around the table. On the board — images of murdered police officers. Bullet wounds. Same entry points. Same precision. Same signature: a red chess piece left near each body.

Imran (reading the files):

"Six officers. All killed in the last 48 hours. No witnesses. No CCTV. Just this…"

He places the bloodied chess piece on the table.

Arjun:

"This isn't random. They're targeting us — the protectors."

The door creaks open.

ACP Qazi enters.

Everyone rises to attention.

Qazi (firmly):

"This is war. And the man behind this... is someone I should've buried long ago."

Silence falls.

[Scene 3 – Flashback Reveal: The Return of Zarar]

Flashback — Episode 28. A grim raid in the outskirts of Delhi.

Qazi leads a team into a farmhouse. Inside, they capture ZARAR — a former intelligence officer gone rogue. Brilliant, manipulative, a master of psychological warfare. Qazi arrests him after a brutal standoff.

Zarar (during arrest):

"You think you've won? No, Qazi. You just delayed your own death. Someday… I'll return. And I'll make sure your legacy burns… from within."

The flashback fades into darkness.

Back to present — Qazi stares at Zarar's old file, his face filled with guilt and fury.

[Scene 4 – Action Begins: The Trap]

Location: An abandoned textile mill in Andheri.

Acting on intel, the Black Squad storms in. Silence. Then—

BOOM!

An explosion rips through the corridor.

Gunfire erupts. Smoke blinds the squad.

Zoya is hit — shrapnel in her shoulder.

Arjun (yelling):

"Fall back! Fall back!"

They see a masked figure fleeing into the shadows.

Qazi (breathing heavily):

"He knew. He wanted us to come."

Imran:

"This isn't about police. It's about you, sir."

Qazi doesn't deny it. His silence speaks louder.

[Scene 5 – Emotional Core: A Leader's Burden]

Late night. Qazi sits alone in the Crime Branch office.

A montage plays:

Episode 6: The desperate Ransom Chase.

Episode 15: DCP Shamsher Singh's death in Qazi's arms.

Episode 30: The sniper's bullet missing him by inches.

Episode 42: The Silent Killer poisoning his officers.

He's aged. Worn. The weight of leadership etched on his face.

Voiceover (Qazi's inner monologue):

"Every criminal I caught… left a scar. Justice always came at a cost. And I paid it… with every sleepless night."

[Scene 6 – The Final Showdown: Bhandup Rail Yard]

Zarar kidnaps a prominent politician and issues a challenge: Come alone, Qazi. Or watch the city burn.

The squad traces him to an abandoned rail yard. It's dark. Foggy. Lined with hidden tripwires and snipers.

The Black Squad splits.

Arjun and Rajveer clear the south wing.

Imran rescues the hostages.

Zoya, injured but stubborn, backs up the team from comms.

Qazi walks into the main terminal, alone.

He finds Zarar, standing like a ghost from the past.

Zarar (smirking):

"You were always predictable. Still the martyr, I see."

Qazi:

"And you… still the coward, hiding behind bombs and bodies."

Zarar attacks. What follows is brutal.

No guns.

Just fists. Elbows. Glass shattering.

Qazi bleeds. Zarar breaks his ribs. They fall through steel shelves. Finally, Qazi drives a rusted rod through Zarar's chest.

Zarar gasps — but smiles.

Zarar (weakly):

"You're too late…"

He presses a detonator.

[Scene 7 – The Sacrifice]

Bomb timer starts. 30 seconds.

Qazi limps to the device — a complex rig. He disables circuits, cuts the main line… but one final charge remains.

Arjun (rushing in):

"Sir! Step back! We'll handle it!"

Qazi (calm, smiling):

"This… is my final case, Arjun. I won't let my team die for me."

He looks at all of them — every face that once trained under his command.

He speaks, softly, for the last time:

Qazi:

"Protect this city. That's all I ask."

He pulls the last wire — just as the blast detonates in a shielded corner.

WHITE FLASH. SILENCE.

[Scene 8 – Aftermath: The Cost of Duty]

Smoke clears.

The team finds Qazi's body, slumped against the bomb casing — his hand still gripping the wire. His chest still. His face peaceful.

No words. Just the rain falling.

Imran drops to his knees. Zoya cries silently. Arjun looks away — broken.

Voiceover (Arjun):

"He wasn't just our leader. He was the wall between chaos and order. And now… it's our turn to stand in his place."

[Scene 9 – Final Scene: Memorial Service]

Location: Police Grounds, Mumbai.

Black umbrellas. Dozens of officers in black uniform. A framed photo of ACP Sulaiman Qazi draped in white flowers.

The commissioner gives the final salute.

Imran places Qazi's badge gently on the coffin.

Zoya (whispering):

"Goodbye, sir… you were the light in our darkest days."

Slow motion — the Black Squad salutes in unison.

The screen fades to black.

Text appears:

"For every hero who walks into the dark, so others may live in the light."

ACP Sulaiman Qazi — 1973 – 2025.
