Chapter 9 - Schooling life beginnings

In 1970s, life was so difficult and hard for a woman that had lost her husband and got ten children needed many rings to grow up. All of then were still students even though they were having different studies' levels. Some were at the university, others in the secondary school, some in the middle, and I had just started my first year in the primary. So, the situation seemed to be too long for the mom to take charge of all that. My first time in the school was so hard as I always felt the absence of my dad; especially, when a teacher asked the other pupils about their fathers' name, job, and other related questions. I found myself spontaneously crying deeply. My teachers, at that time, were really comprehensive, they tried to calm me down and help me no to keep thinking about this absence. I still remember a dialogue with one of the Arabic teachers, who used to be like a father. He said:" all human kind were born in the same way. Some they have parents and others no." I said:" why me sir?" He said:" it's God destiny." And added:" may God know why?" So, don't keep saying that. I was convinced by his words and I accepted his speech.

Due to the other teachers words and treats, I did my best to get high results, which satisfied both my mom and teachers. At that time, I found myself among the three intelligent first students in the school during all the six primary levels. This position made all who knew me proud of my results and achievements. In a very strange period my mother had taken a very strange decision, which was moving from our house to move to another one that was far from my school. My siblings asked why? My mother replied: »look babies, this house a little big and we haven't got enough money to take charge of it; so, I decide to move to a smaller one so as to get some money and it will be easy to take charge of it ». All the others said: » really you are intelligent mom ». We surely moved to another apartment that was smaller and further as my older one was bigger and nearer to my school. More than that it needed many expenses and things. Now, I started my middle school studies after having spent all the summer holiday at home because traveling for all of us , within these life conditions, was just a dream that could not be achieved no more. The first year was so normal: just going to school early in the morning, studying different school subjects, coming back home late in the evening, and revising my lessons at night. Even this period was not different than that before. Full of high scores, and being the first in the exams as usual. My family was habituated with this situation. So, I didn't have the right to get less than the others.
