They are gone." Jackson whispers as they peek at the guards who had been standing around the pack house.
Darkness stretches over them like a thick cloak, blending them into the night. "Come on, you have to get her. The lights are on, that means she's in the room." He adds, his voice barely audible but sharp with urgency.
"I still don't think this is the best idea. What if they get hold of you?! By now, we know how slippery Marcus is." Aiden complains, his unease seeping into his tone.
His eyes stay locked on Lucian, anxiety deepening the creases on his forehead. Aiden isn't just worried about the risk, he's worried about Lucian himself. If he gets caught again, there's no telling what Marcus would do to him.
"I'll be careful." Lucian replies before striding away, his movements swift and silent.
He slips into the shadows, heart pounding with the weight of what he must do. He sneaks into the room, but Anna isn't there.
