They barely register when morning comes. Oh, Anna does... but Marcus doesn't. He remains lost in his slumber, his body tangled with hers, only stirring when a firm knock sounds at the door, shattering the silence.
"Alpha, you requested a meeting with the alphas and elders. They are here already," a voice calls from the other side.
Marcus groans, rubbing his eyes as reality comes crashing in. "Oh no, is it morning already?!" he grumbles, sitting up and raking a hand through his disheveled hair. "We supposed to over that sacrifice before morning. When are we supposed to do the sacrifice?"
Anna, her voice hoarse and worn from the night's torment, responds softly, "It would be better if you talked to them first… before we go ahead with the sacrifice," she says, her tone laced with exhaustion.
Marcus exhales heavily, nodding. "That's right. Since they're already here, I should speak to them now."
