Chapter 72 - Yang Wei angrily rebukes Wang Yanjun, Yang Chen intervenes strongly

At this moment, Yang Wei's face was filled with fury.

This trip to Jiangzhou wasn't just for him alone—Wang Yanjun, Yang Liu, and other company executives had also come along.

The family had sent such a strong lineup precisely to break into the Jiangzhou market.

And all matters in Jiangzhou were under his responsibility.

Even he, after realizing Yang Chen's extraordinary status last night, had no choice but to bow his head.

So how could Wang Yanjun, a mere live-in son-in-law married into the Yang family, dare to act otherwise?

When Wang Yanjun heard Yang Wei's words, his face was full of terror: "That's impossible! It absolutely can't be him! He's just a useless son-in-law from a minor family—how could Grandpa personally call about him?"

Yang Wei sensed something in Wang Yanjun's words and grabbed him by the collar, roaring, "Who the hell did you offend?"

Wang Yanjun, eyes wide with fear, didn't dare provoke Yang Wei and quickly replied, "Brother, I really didn't offend anyone important—just the useless son-in-law of a small family."

*Slap!*

Yang Wei struck him again: "Then what fucking right do you have to call someone else useless? You're the real trash! Where is this person you're talking about now?"

Though Yang Wei wasn't entirely sure whether the so-called "useless" man Wang Yanjun mentioned was actually a big shot, he knew that under these circumstances, regardless, he had to verify it personally.

His grandfather was the head of the Yang family. For the old man to personally call and berate him like this meant Wang Yanjun must have offended someone significant.

Wang Yanjun didn't dare hide anything and pointed at the Yanchen Group building: "He went inside."

Meanwhile, inside Yanchen Group.

Qin Yi was anxiously waiting for Yang Chen, worried that he might have lost his temper and done something drastic to Wang Yanjun, leading to his arrest by the authorities.

As for Wang Yanjun, she had long since stopped caring about him—ever since she saw him intimately entering a hotel with another woman years ago.

When she later learned he had gotten married, she felt nothing for him at all.

"Brother-in-law, you didn't do anything to him, did you?"

Just as she was fretting, Yang Chen suddenly walked in. Qin Yi hurried over to him.

Yang Chen gave her a strange look: "You're worried I hurt him?"

Qin Yi quickly shook her head: "I'm afraid you went too far and got taken away by the police."

Yang Chen suddenly understood—she was worried about *him*. He smiled and shook his head: "Don't worry, I just gave him a warning. He probably won't bother you again."

To resolve this matter, he had directly warned the head of the Zhoucheng Yang family. If Wang Yanjun dared to harass Qin Yi again, Yang Chen wouldn't even need to lift a finger—the Yang family itself would deal with him.

"Brother-in-law, why are you here?" Now that she was sure Yang Chen was fine, Qin Yi asked curiously.

Last time at Beiyuanchun Restaurant, she had seen Luo Bin and Su Chengwu treating Yang Chen respectfully, but she still didn't connect him to Yanchen Group.

Yang Chen said, "I came to discuss something with President Luo."

Qin Yi grew even more puzzled: "Are you close with President Luo?"

"I happened to save his life once, so we're on good terms. If you run into any trouble at the company, you can ask President Luo for help. He'll give me that much face," Yang Chen said with a smile.

Qin Yi suddenly understood: "No wonder President Luo has been so polite to me—it's because of you! So I've been benefiting from your connections!"

"No need for thanks. Just treat me to a big meal after you get your paycheck," Yang Chen said, waving as he walked away.

Qin Yi smirked playfully: "Hmph! You're my brother-in-law—thanking you would make things too formal! Even if we're talking about a big meal, *you're* the one treating *me*."

Yang Chen rarely visited Yanchen Group, but whenever he did, it was for business with Luo Bin.

"Chairman, you must have some instructions for me, right?" Luo Bin asked nervously.

Yang Chen found his demeanor amusing: "You seem afraid of me?"

Luo Bin quickly replied: "You're my superior—of course I'm afraid of you."

Yang Chen chuckled: "Relax, I don't bite. As long as you're loyal to me, I won't treat you poorly."

After teasing Luo Bin a bit, Yang Chen's expression turned serious: "If I remember correctly, I once told you not to allow any business from the Zhoucheng Yang family in Jiangzhou. Yet I've heard their PR team has already found partners here?"

It wasn't that Yang Chen was petty—some things simply couldn't be ignored.

First, Yang Wei had dared to set his sights on Qin Xi. Now, a mere Yang family son-in-law was harassing Qin Yi. That was why Yang Chen had decided to completely drive the Yang family out of Jiangzhou.

Luo Bin forced a bitter smile: "Chairman, it's not that I ignored your orders—it's just that Yanchen Group's position in Jiangzhou is awkward. The name might sound impressive, but to the top-tier elites here, we're just a small branch office—nothing to fear."

Hearing this, Yang Chen fell silent.

He had thought that leveraging the reputation of the Yuwen Family would allow Yanchen Group to dominate Jiangzhou's economic landscape. Now, it seemed he had been too optimistic.

As Luo Bin said, in Jiangzhou, Yanchen Group was just a minor subsidiary.

"Seems we've been too low-key," Yang Chen murmured, narrowing his eyes.

"Chairman, there's something I'm not sure I should say," Luo Bin hesitated before speaking up.

"Go ahead," Yang Chen frowned.

Luo Bin said gravely: "Although the Yuwen Family has technically returned Yanchen Group to you, in reality, the true higher-ups in the company are still Yuwen Family members. Right now, the Jiangzhou branch is like an independent entity in name only."

After speaking, Luo Bin cautiously observed Yang Chen's reaction.

Seeing he wasn't angry, Luo Bin continued: "That's the main reason the top families in Jiangzhou don't take our branch seriously."

"You're right."

Yang Chen remained calm. Ever since the Yuwen Family handed over the chairman position of Yanchen Group to him, he had understood this reality.

Though Yanchen Group was founded by his mother, many in the Yuwen Family saw it as collective family property—with numerous members even holding executive positions in the company.

It was easy to imagine how difficult it would be for Yang Chen to fully take control.

"Don't worry. It's not the right time yet, but one day, I'll personally reclaim everything the Yuwen Family owes me." Yang Chen's aura suddenly surged, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes.

Hearing this, Luo Bin's heart clenched violently.

The Yuwen Family of Yanjing was one of the eight pinnacle families standing at the zenith of the nation.

Just then, the phone on Luo Bin's desk rang.

"What? People from the Zhoucheng Yang family? No! Tell them to get lost!"

Hearing that the Yang family wanted to see him, Luo Bin nearly slammed the phone down in panic—Yang Chen had just questioned him about the Yang family, and now they were at the door.

"Wait!"

Yang Chen suddenly spoke: "Let them in!"
