CHAPTER 1
KING LETUKA'S PALACE.;in the morning.
Kaira stood before the mirror, her deep red royal gown shimmering in the soft light. She took a deep breath, her mind racing with thoughts of revenge against King Letuka.
As she walked down the hall, her maids trailing behind her, Kaira's eyes locked onto the king sitting majestically on his throne.
She appeared in her deep red royal gown with worked bodice and fully embellished sleeves, Gold mesh handwork on shirt stones, with floral patterned embroidery, beads, and stones.
Looking at her target sitting majestically on the throne with his expressionless look as usual, looking handsome as usual, "hell no! "He's the most ugly human have ever seen!!" She muttered, with the queen on his right hand side and the royal consort on the left hand side.
"Now the king will crown our lady!", the royal priest announced,kaira rolled her eyes at the royal priest, grumbling silently.
"With the power vested in me, I crown you as the royal concubine of this Yusari Kingdom"...
Immediately kaira heard his voice, her head turned, her heart seized,she wanted to strangle him,she wanted to end his life at that moment,she had all sort of mixed revenge feelings towards the king as her
heart seethed with anger and resentment…
But when she could not endure it anymore,she fainted amd the last thing she remembered was the king's concerned face looming over hers.
my lady,!!!!! The palace maids screamed.
The palace maids quickly rushed kaira to the royal physician,,,immediately they got to the royal physician, he examined kaira and he was shocked!! He asked no one in particular, "why is her ladyship running this type of temperature, why's she this hot"? But got no reply.
.KING'S CHAMBER.
King Letuka has been in his chamber since he got back from the royal coronation of the royal concubine and for a reason unknown to him, he has been parading all around wondering what could have happened to the concubine, why did she fainted, why did she looked so angry, why was she glaring so hard at him ,,and a voice came in "your Majesty, Gilas", the king personal guard announced himself.
"Come in" king Letuka half yelled
"Your Majesty,her ladyship has woken up"
"What happened?",what made her faint?" king Letuka asked.
"The royal physician said there's absolutely nothing wrong with her ladyship" Gilas replied immediately.
" But she was....."king Letuka could not complete his statement,
"Your Majesty! Her Ladyship is here! The king's herald (announcer) announced the arrival of the royal consort with a loud proclamation.
"Enter!" The king command;
Your Majesty,she bowed
Why are you here,lady Larisa?
"My king,what do you think of your concubine,with the look of things,she's not healthy to be a royal concubine honestly,imagine on the day of her coronation,she's just...:she could not complete her statement.
"I'm in the middle of an important meeting with my guard here ,as you can see,lady Larisa,can you please excuse us"king Letuka cut her off
"Your Majesty,,it's just...."
"Larisa out!" king Letuka snapped, calling her by the name.
Lady Larisa stumbled out of the chamber with a deep frown with her maids following her behind,she stopped In front of kaira chamber with a loud scoffs.
She asked her maids to wait outside;
She entered kaira's chamber with her frown face, immediately she entered, kaira stood up and bowed her head
"Your ladyship"she greeted with her hands on her tummy with her head down;
"Address me as 'your highness' instead,what do you think?"
"Your ladyship, I'm sorry,,,, is for her highness, the queen,I can not just call you that", she explained
" Oh really, I didnt know, enlight me more, little miss genius",,,,
Kaira raised her head up and turned to her maids,
"You girls should wait for me outside",they all excused them to be alone;
" My lady, I think this is not where you should be, why not just go and see the royal physician to run a checkup on you ? Or better still take a nap because you really need to rest from all this stress you're giving yourself, what do you think,her ladyship?" She bowed
Larisa eyes should have been on the floor by now because the way she budged her eyes, at this moment, her eyes might pop out of their sockets,,
"What!!! Y.o.o.u.u,,,, wait, did you just talk back at me?"
"No,her ladyship;I only offer my best advise to you".she smile softly.
"if you don't mind, I need to step out for a moment," she bow and leave..
Larisa could not believe her eyes,it's as if she was dreaming right now,she needs someone to pinch her because,what just happened?",she asked no one in particular
"Is this a dream?,who does she think she is?,wait a moment! Today is her first day of her being a concubine,so what's wrong?,why would she talk to her like that?,"what's with the guts,,,,no! I need to do something before she grow wings, this one is already growing wings because if not,wait!! Is it because she's the minister of justice's daughter,I need to look for a clue because there's something fishy about her" she thought.
She moved to her drawer, and on opening it,she saw a red envelope ,she discarded the envelope and continue searching,in the end,,she could not find anything to satisfy her curiosity,and she stumbled out angrily.
It's already in the evening,quiet and under the palace tree,king Letuka was standing while meditating,deep thinking In his own world, looking ravishing as usual, He was fair, almost pale white, He's immeasurable golden brown eyes contrasted exceptionally with his light toned face, His eyes was deep and expressive, where you could get lost if you stared long enough,His face had that faraway look in it, which cannot be described in words,, you could see a hint of pain in his sparkling eyes, which would disappear as suddenly as it emerged, He sometimes spoke too fast, which perhaps revealed how much agony he concealed within himself, Above all was his frame and his stature,He was not extremely muscular, with 8 pack abs or 16 cm biceps.he's the true definition of a demi_god,.
"your Majesty" queen Mayana called from behind;
" My queen,how are you doing" ? He asked bluntly.
"My king,hope no problem,because have been here for a moment now and i have been trying to get your attention your ,what's wrong your Majesty?"
"My queen why are you here?" Getting tired of the conversation already.
"My king,hmm,well,I'm on my way to her ladyship, to check how she's doing,I heard she's now in her chamber".
"Okay,you should go ahead" king
Letuka replied plainly and turned back.
"Oh,less I forget,I have a good news your Majesty",king Letuka turned back swiftly'
"And what could that be" he asked.
"I'm pregnant your Majesty,I planned on informing you later at night but I can not hold it any longer",she said looking so happy,,
"Oh,that's good, congratulations to us",he smiled briefly and turned back.
Queen Mayana turned back looking so sad,she felt so bad that the king would act like that,she atleast expected the king to hold a fiest for the celebration, based on this is the king's first child to be, "he should atleast pretended to look happy,he should atleast faked the happiness even though she did not expect more,she just did not expected it to be worst ,she thought inwardly.
She left, and on her way she met kaira. "My queen" she bowed.
"How are you feeling?,lady kaira"
"My queen,thanks for your concern,I'm fine now"
"That's good,I'll like to invite you to my chamber in the night,would you be be to attend?" queen Mayana asked.
"my queen,even if I have the whole lots of load on my head tonight,I will crawl to your chamber as soon as possible,",she faked a smile
Queen Mayana laugh out loud: " just worried about your health,you're so funny anyway,
I'll be expecting you tonight",
"Yes,your Highness!" The queen smiled and walked away.
Kaira rolled her eyes as she started walking away to cool her head,she stopped her maids from following her any further,,
She proceeded walking and on her way,she saw the king standing,,looking so lost,,,,she moved to the king and bowed her head,,,,
"Your majesty",she called
King Letuka turned to her, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Lady Kaira, how are you feeling?" he asked, his voice neutral.
Kaira smiled sweetly, her eyes flashing with anger. "I'm fine, Your Majesty.
"can I join you,your Majesty?"
"I am leaving already,you can enjoy your stay," as he made to leave,,
"Your Majesty,I want to tell you something,if you don't mind" she said nervously.
" You can go on" king said bluntly.
King Letuka raised an eyebrow, his eyes glinting with curiosity. "What is it, Lady Kaira?"
Kaira took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest. "Do you think I'm fit to be your concubine?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
King Letuka's eyes narrowed slightly, his face expressionless. "And why are you asking me that?" he replied, his voice neutral.
Kaira smiled again, her eyes flashing with anger. "I just think I'm too beautiful to be a concubine," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
King Letuka's eyes glinted with amusement, but he said nothing,Instead, he turned and was about to walk away…
"Your majesty,I have a favour to asked and I'll be glad if you can do it for me and I'll consider it a gift from your Majesty",she bowed.
"Mention it", the king said.
Kaira stood before King Letuka, her heart racing with anticipation. "I'd like to sleep in your chamber tonight, Your Majesty," she said, her voice laced with a hint of boldness.
Will the king approved kaira's request?
Why did kaira wants to sleep inside the king's chamber?
