"My wife! The dragon will eat her!" The gnome was running deeper and deeper into the forest.
The two boys had no idea how to take down a dragon, but they had eaten the golden apples.
Both were sure of themselves.
Both were fools.
The roar shook the forest. The boys stopped and froze when they saw it:
A charred caravan, the horse in the beast's maw. Slowly being chewed. Its legs were twitching. Both Valentius and Albert prayed that the poor animal was dead.
That it didn't need to face the fangs now on full display.
But fate was cruel.
The horse was thrown against a tree. Letting out a panicked scream.
Trying to get up, only to make its wound all the worse.
"Albert, find the woman!" Valentius yelled as he poured his mana into his hands.
"Formation! Left, right, two behind, one up front!" Valentius was scared. The horse's painful scream was haunting him.
Showing him his future.
