Damon sneered. "And who the hell are you?"
Ethan stiffened.
Damon scoffed, finally recognizing him. "Oh, now I remember. You're that bastard from the Caldwell family, aren't you? And a bastard wants to drink with me?"
Elena smirked but said nothing.
Ethan's face turned dark.
Being called a bastard was his biggest sore spot.
He had expected Damon to show him some respect, yet he was only met with ridicule.
Worse, their argument had started drawing attention.
A crowd was beginning to form, made up of influential guests.
Ethan felt his dignity crumbling before his eyes.
He burned with shame.
Fury overtook him as he pointed a trembling finger at Damon. "You arrogant fool. You only have the courage to say such things because of your family's power. Say that again, and see what happens."
