"I have a question to ask you, Lucas," I said.
"As me anything you want. Anything you need. Anything at all."
He sounded so sure of himself. And that was how a powerful man acted and spoke. With a lot of confidence that he would sell it for a lot of money if only it could be traded.
"I want to know your business with Veronica," I said.
He stopped walking for a moment. Then chuckled. "My business with Veronica? What business do I have with her?"
"Something that screams unfinished business," I told him.
"Oh, is that what you meant? Well, to tell you the truth, I have already told her that she was banished. Yet, she still keeps coming around. Telling me to revoke my sentence on her so that she wouldn't have to leave the pack. Do you know how weary I get of hearing all of that?"
"Well, that is because you have made a choice to hear her complaints and pleadings. You could have just told the men to take her out and make sure that she was never seen around the house anymore."
