The soul is eternal and unchanging, made of pure consciousness. It contains a person's very essence—their life, their self.
A soul contract ties two different souls together, making them share their life essence. While doing soBoth parties put forward their demands, and once the contract is signed, it must be met. Breaking it means one thing—total annihilation of the soul
In the game, the protagonist and Asmodeus made their conditions clear when they made their contract. Asmodeus demanded that the protagonist will find him a proper body as soon as possible. For his part, the protagonist put two conditions: Asmodeus would never hurt humankind again, and he must help him in becoming stronger.
After the contract was sealed, their souls became one, naturally sharing their life force. The strong bloodline from the protagonist subdued Asmodeus's demonic nature to some extent, breaking the seal chains and freeing him completely. Meanwhile, the protagonist gained a weaker form of Asmodeus's bloodline ability—still much stronger than anything he had ever had.
And that's precisely what I want too.
Asmodeus's bloodline power is among the strongest, and the only reason why I've been doing this.
"Hey, brat! Hurry the hell up! What's taking so long?"
Asmodeus's irritated voice snapped me back to present.
I was in the middle of drawing a second mana circle, an important step in our soul contract. It wasn't exactly easy.
"Fuck you…" I grumbled to myself.
Who does this asshole think I am? His personal servant?
"These circles take time, you know! I'm not some damn expert," I snapped, trying to stay calm despite my frustration.
Asmodeus smirked. "Then why don't you hurry up and become one?"
I blew out a harsh breath through my nose. Arrogant bastard.
"Or better ," I continued, "you could assist.
Obviously, you know how to do this quicker than I do."
He scoffed. "Who do you think you are talking, brat? I don't do grunt work .
He continued," and why should I do when you are here". His face grinning
I gritted my teeth. He was mocking me on purpose.
Wait till we make this contract you arrogant shit. I'll show you what the real torture is....
With our souls contracted, he wouldn't dare do anything to harm me without harming himself too.
A quite evil grin escaped my mouth.
With what seemed like an eternity, I finally completed the circle.
"Okay, done. Let's begin."
Asmodeus nodded slowly and drifted into place. I entered the circle too. Activation remained the only step left.
I grabbed a mana sphere and allowed my power to flow into the pattern. Across from me, Asmodeus did the same.
Time for the last step.
I took out a knife, raised the blade to my palm, and sliced through the skin with a quick, shallow cut. Blood spiled up, trickling down onto the circle below.
"Damn it… how much blood do I have to spill for this?" I grumbled.
The moment my blood touched the ground, the circle ignited, glowing with an eerie, otherworldly light. The energy pulsed, growing stronger by the second.
Then, in an instant—
My body was numb. My eyes blurred.
And in the next instant, I was somewhere else.
The Soul World.
I had no body here—just my soul. When I gazed at myself, I could see my body glowing, translucent. My eyes flickered around back and forth until I saw him.
Asmodeus stood before me.
Our eyes locked, and without further ado, we both stated our conditions out loud.
The contract was signed.
At that moment, I felt it—our souls entwining, our life forces merging. His consciousness, his essence… it was inside me. And I was certain he could feel mine as well.
Then, just as quickly as it had started—
I was back.
I gasped, blinking hard as I adjusted to reality. But something was wrong.
Asmodeus was gone.
Panic started to creep in my chest.
"Hey… where are you?! Asmodeus!"
I turned around, scanning the underground room. Did the soul contract fail ? Had he been pulled back into the Abyss?
"What the hell are you screaming for, you Idiot?"
The voice came from… somewhere.
I stopped dead in my tracks.
"Where are you?" I snapped, still scanning around.
"Try to look at your hand, genius."
I scowled and looked down.
My breath caught.
A black dragon tattoo wrapped around my whole hand, complex and evil. It throbbed softly, as if it were alive. And even though everything, I couldn't help but admit—
It was so damn cool.
".Are you really in there?" I aksed hesitantly.
A dark shadow flickered, and Asmodeus appeared beside me, no longer chained. His lips turned into a satisfied grin.
"The contract was successful. The seal is broken."
I let out a slow breath, grinning
"Well, no need to thank me, buddy."
His face darkened at once. "Who the hell is your 'buddy,' insect? You wanna die?"
I just laughed.
He couldn't do a damn thing to me now.
The tables had turned.
"Now, now, don't get so angry, buddy. We're friends now, aren't we?"
His face flickered with annoyance. "Who the hell is your friend, bug? If you don't want to die, stop talking."
I just grinned, laughing inwardly.
Then, suddenly, something snapped.
The entire reason I entered into a contract with Asmodeus—
I looked down at myself.
"What the hell are you doing?" Asmodeus snapped, his annoyance turning to confusion.
"If the contract was successful… why don't I feel anything? I should've awakened right?"
Asmodeus scoffed, "And why are you staring at yourself like an idiot to check that?"
"Hah? What do you mean?" I asked, furrowing my brows.
A smug grin spread across his face. "What type of dumbass are you? Look at your status screen, genius."
My breath caught.
Fuck.
How the hell did I forget that? That was embarrassing.
I breathed out harshly and cursed under my breath—
"Status."
A transparent screen appeared before me. My heart racing, my eyes swept the data shown.

I gazed at the screen, my hands shaking a little.
Hell.... Yeah....

Even though it was weak…
I got Asmodeus's bloodline ability.
The smile slowly crept across my face.
This was only the beginning of my journey .
