"Your Majesty, the queen is about to give birth," the servant informed the man who stood still, his back straight but his tightened fist betrayed his anxiousness.
The day the little princess was born, a bloody calamity appeared in the sky. The sky was black and heavy, with thunderous lightning crackling. When she emerged from her mother's womb, her eyes were open and white, glowing and twirling.
On the other end of the world, filled with darkness, a woman was screaming in pain and hate filled in her heart.
"Midwife, drag that devil spawn out of me. It wants to take my life," the woman screamed in pain and confusion.
"The baby is coming out, Your Majesty." Soon, a baby covered in blood was brought out.
"Ahhhh…" The midwife screamed as she stared at the baby in her hands. The child stared back at her with a condescending smile on his face, arrogant and haughty.

Soft feathers as white as snow moved gently on the bed, the figure burrowing deeper into the blanket. Her wings sprawled carelessly. Her movement indicated her reluctance to leave the bed, but the approaching footsteps warned her.
A young lady who looked no more than twenty stepped into the room, sighing at the sight of the reluctant figure on the bed. The lady had a pair of beautiful eyes that made people weak at the knees, her long silver hair tied high without a wisp escaping from the tight hold.
She walked to the curtains and opened them widely, revealing a beautiful sight of mountains and clouds.
"Lunneta, it's about time you wake up," she said, her beautiful white wings fluttering behind her back.
Maybe Lunneta heard her or not, but there was no reaction from her.
"Lunneta," she called sternly, moving to sit beside the sleeping beauty.
Finally, there was a sign from her as she moved her head, the blanket sliding down her body as she sat upright. Her face could make one gasp in awe as there was no difference between her and the lady; they could be taken as sisters, but that wasn't the reason for the awe. It was her eyes, startling white eyes that seemed out of place. The white swirled around her dark orbs.
Her lips carved in a small love shape were exceptionally red, making one wonder. Her short legs could be seen as the blanket had been removed entirely. She could not be more than six or less. She burrowed into the lady's arm, sighing. This action seemed to be in contrast with her sharp and matured eyes.
"Mother, I want to sleep for a bit longer," she said in a soft soothing voice that was pleasing to the ear.
"Lunneta, today marks the twentieth peace convention between our clans. I hope you didn't forget," her mother said, narrowing her eyes.
"Of course not, mother, I understand," she answered sharply, flying high into the air before setting on the ground.
Heidi stood up, watching her daughter landing on the soft rug with a proud smile on her face. She called the maids to assist her into the bathroom.
Sitting on the bathtub filled with rose-scented petals, she played with the water softly as the maids attended to her. This was times she looked and acted her age.
When Lunneta thought about how she had to behave properly during the event, she couldn't help but roll her eyes. She sighed softly; it wasn't her fault she had a rebellious heart. Thinking of the people she had to meet later, an evil glint flashed in her eyes.
Crescent Moon was divided into two clans, the Light Crescent Clan and the Dark Crescent Clan. A long time ago, both clans lived together in peace and harmony, but a betrayal from the Dark Crescent Clan made the guardians, separate the planet.
Since then, the clans had fought wars and reacted strongly to couples from different clans marrying each other, before the war was put to a stop by the High Lord, which brought about the peace convention, which was a disguise.
The tension was always high during the convention, but everyone seemed nonchalant as if nothing was wrong, which was quite deceptive.
Even though in human age she was still a child, in their world, it was a norm. She had exceptionally high intelligence, which could not be underestimated. Well, what else could be expected from the offspring of two Lords from the purest of blood?
Lunneta was what they called a devil's child; she was exceptionally beautiful, intelligent, and very wicked, which was in contrast with their clan rules that preach peace before violence and humility before arrogance. She had none.
Before long, she was dressed in an ivory gown that seemed to sway and glitter whenever she moved. Lunneta really loved her gown as her hands ran through it, her lips curving into a beautiful smile.
"Your Highness, please don't run around. You will be announced into the Hall later on," the head maid pleaded as Lunneta was always mischievous.
She nodded in understanding, and the maid heaved a sigh of relief, bringing the other maids along with her as she stepped out. But who was Lunneta, clearly a little naughty brat.
As soon as they all left, she also left as if she was on a mission. She flew towards the ballroom, landing softly on the snow carpet rug. She peeped inside, saw her father speaking with the ambassador of their clan. No guards were at the door as this was a peace convention, but there were guards everywhere, seemingly ready to appear if an attack happened.
Such idiocy, left with Lunneta, she would post guards at every entrance and door, but their clan preaches peace.
She went outside, going away from the ballroom, needing to find quiet as all the noise was draining her mental strength. Flying away from her palace, she stopped at a hidden cave she found, which was on the boundary of the two clans, neither here nor there.
Sitting upon a rock in the cave, she was deep in thought before noticing a sound a few feet away from her, supposedly coming out from under a rock. She went to investigate, and as she drew closer, she walked around the rock to find a figure seated there, his back resting on the rock while throwing little stones. His black wings stood tall and proud and covered a lot, almost dropping to the ground. It seemed punishing. That was where the sound was coming from, Lunneta realized.
"What are you doing here? You are not meant to be here," Lunneta asked arrogantly.
The figure grew grim at the voice reprimanding him; he turned his little face to look, and they were both stunned at what they saw.
Kai looked at the most beautiful being he had ever seen; her eyes attracted him the most. She had a face that was unraveled, her skin as pure as snow. She looked really soft, and with the slight baby fat on her face, she looked very cute.
The snowy white wing on her back was a giveaway of the clan she came from, but which rank he was unaware.
"Who are you?" Kai questioned in a cold voice that sounded matured, but a tinge of childish tone gave it away that he was just a child.
"You don't deserve to know who I am. All you need to know is that I found this cave first, and it's mine," she declared arrogantly.
Lunneta was equally stunned too as she had never met anyone as handsome as the boy sitting in front of her. He looked to be her age or even higher. She just couldn't tell. His eyes were a startling black that seemed to sparkle. It was beautiful.
She always thought she was the most beautiful person on the planet, but it seems he rivals her or even better than her. It seemed unfair for a boy to be this beautiful. What was even more unusual was the need to comfort him; she felt an ache in her soul which she didn't understand. Not receiving any reply from the boy, she huffed and sighed softly in anger.
"I've already laid claim to this cave; you can look for another one, little princess," he said, raising his eyes to meet hers, and the startling ache grew deep in his soul and was overwhelming to the point of pain. He wanted her closer to him as if any skin contact will do. The need to be close to her was much.
Lunneta heard her mom calling, a thousand miles away. She knew because her hearing was extraordinarily sharp.
"We can deal with this later, maybe tomorrow. Meet me here," Lunneta answered, running towards the cave and launching into the sky towards the palace.
Kai stood up gracefully from the ground, patting away the dust on his clothes. His eyes couldn't tear away from the entrance of the cave where she left.
From her dressing and behavior, he guessed that she was the honorable high lady's daughter, the little princess of the Light Crescent Clan. He smiled when he remembered her proud and aloof face, but the smile quickly faded away, merging into the face of an innocent seven-year-old child.
Not too interested in what was going on in the ballroom, he knew he had to be in attendance as this was part of his duty as heir.
"Your Highness, it's time we leave," his shadow said, seemingly appearing from nowhere.
He gave a slight nod to indicate that he agreed, and they both moved towards the end of the cave. The shadow moved together with nature, and he was no longer seen, but Kai knew where he always was. The shadow had taken an oath to always protect him. They were like twins or blood brothers.
He jumped down from the cave, his wings still as he glided, enjoying the breeze and the adrenaline that came with it. He enjoyed flying, and soon he arrived at the palace, walking quickly to his father's side.
"Kai, where have you been?" His father whispered, looking down at him.
"Nowhere important," he answered with a cold face. His father sighed, knowing they won't get anywhere with the talk. Most times he wondered about his son, if the devil had reincarnated in him.
"Better stay still and stop running around," His father reprimanded with a stern voice.
Soon, the Light Crescent Clan assistant announced the High Lord with their child into the ball. As the ones holding the convention this year, they had to give them courtesy.
Kai watched as Lunneta, whom he had decided to call Luu, walked into the ballroom with her parents. They were currently on the ground floor, where issues of the clan would be read out.
She looked really beautiful, surpassing even the rulers of their planet, and those rulers were really beautiful. Kai's thoughts were filled with Luu; everything about her put him in a state of confusion. The need for friendship surprised him, but he couldn't forget the words his father had told him about the Light Crescent Clan. They could never roll together.
Kai was soon introduced to Lunneta, who looked shocked at the introduction as she didn't expect that he was an heir like her, even though the black wings indicated that he was from the Dark Crescent Clan.
"Lunneta of Light Crescent," Lunneta said in a sweet voice, curtseying as was expected of her. Kai introduced himself, giving a little bow. The mothers of the children praised the children at how cute they looked, each with their own thoughts.
The convention finished successfully without any brawl or intense heated argument. By the time Lunneta reached her room, she was exhausted. All she wanted to do was to sleep.
