The next two days felt like a stitched-together nightmare and weird dream.
We never stayed in one place for too long. Every few hours, we moved—city to town to village—but still within the High Elf Kingdom. All for one goal: ingredients to duplicate the Cleanshard.
Ezric used one of his nine favors. His second favor. And yeah, it was simply: "Help me gather materials for an artifact." Sounds light. Reality? Not even close.
We snuck into underground auctions, hunted through black markets, infiltrated noble-class magic exhibitions, and even—YES, EVEN—hid inside a wine crate just to dodge overly curious city guards.
"I've never smelled anything this foul," I whispered then, curled up between bottles.
Ezric casually replied, "That's not the wine. That's you."
I almost kicked him out of the crate.
But in the end… we did it. All the core ingredients were gathered. All that was left was for Ezric to start experimenting.
