For the first time, there was no tension between them. No battle. Just the quiet, undeniable truth.
Seraphina had been worth every fight. And she would be worth every step forward.
Aurora hesitated for a moment before flipping to another section of the album. This time, instead of a still photo, she pressed play on another short video.
Tim wasn't prepared.
The screen flickered to life, showing a much younger Seraphina, barely past her first birthday. She sat on a plush play mat, gripping a stuffed bear with both hands, her chubby cheeks flushed as she babbled nonsense to herself.
And then, she giggled and said, "Dada."
Tim froze.
The word was shaky, barely formed, but it was unmistakable.
"Dada," baby Seraphina repeated, clapping her hands excitedly.
The recording shifted slightly as Aurora's voice came from behind the camera, soft and disbelieving. "What did you just say, sweetheart?"
