"Move away from the village?"

At the breakfast table, the entire Greyrat family looked at Allen with puzzled expressions.

It was already spring of the year 414 in the Dragon Calendar, and today marked Allen's fourth attempt to persuade the Greyrat family to leave the Fittoa Region.

The most direct and effective way to avoid the catastrophic consequences of the Great Teleportation was to get the Greyrat family out of the Fittoa Region.

However...

Making the decision was easy, but putting it into practice was incredibly difficult...

It's not like I can just knock them out and drag them away, right?

So, I had to offer some reasonable, practical, and well-founded suggestions.

Right?

Paul crossed his arms, furrowing his brows as he spoke.

"This is the fourth time you've brought up moving away from the village since last winter. Do you really dislike Buena Village that much?"

He began counting Allen's "reasonable suggestions" on his fingers, his face twitching.

"The first time, you said the winter was too cold, the snow was too heavy, and not seeing Sylphie every day would hinder the children's physical and mental growth... First of all, what does 'physical and mental growth' even mean? And then you suggested that the Laws family should move with us. Isn't that a bit too much?"

Allen covered his face in agony.

The Laws family is really nice. As a fan of Mushoku Tensei, since I've transmigrated here, wanting to give Sylphie a complete family—how is that too much?

"And then when I mentioned it to Laws, he just froze for a moment and then agreed without hesitation?? What's going on? When did you two become so close? And ever since you came back from the monster extermination last winter, Sylphie has been coming to our house every day. What do you mean by 'not seeing Sylphie every day'?"

"Instead, Sylphie is always squinting at you, tsk tsk... Logically, she should get along better with Rudy, given their ages. But you, you moved fast, huh? All those sneaky thoughts... Well, I have to say, you're quite the Greyrat, just like me in my heyday—ow! Honey, why are you stepping on my foot?"

"I was just saying, Allen—ow! Lilia, why are you stepping on my foot too?"

Paul grimaced in pain as both Zenith and Lilia stomped on his feet under the table.

Allen, meanwhile, kept his head down, almost burying it in his bowl.

You're confused? I'm even more confused! I don't know what's up with Laws either. I just casually mentioned it, and he was all for it. And Paul, oh Paul, your big mouth can't keep anything secret, can it? How could you just sell me out like that? Is that even proper?

Under the table, Paul made a move to pinch Zenith and Lilia's thighs, but they quickly dodged. He then hurriedly continued.

"The second time was even more outrageous! You secretly convinced Rudy that the winter snow could cause some... male-related issues... and suggested we move south because of it. Seriously, what have you been learning in the royal capital all these years?? What's going on in that head of yours??"

Paul slammed the table, glancing at Rudy, who was sitting nearby.

Rudy's face twitched as he looked at Allen, clearly thinking, I thought we were brothers, but you're out here trying to ruin my manhood.

"I know you and Rudy are close, but you can't just joke about things like that, can you?"

This is all the author's doing! What does it have to do with me, Allen? And my original point was that the cold winter affects the autonomic nervous system, which can impact one's mental state. You didn't understand the 'autonomic nervous system' part, fine, but how did you manage to twist it into this new version??

And the most ridiculous part is that your new version is eerily close to the original storyline... Is this the sharp intuition of the North God Style??

"And the third time! You said Aisha definitely has magical talent and that moving to Sharia would make it easier for her to attend school. But logically, shouldn't Norn be the one with magical talent? After all, Rudy's talent is right here."

At this, Paul quickly glanced at Zenith, looking somewhat guilty, and continued.

"Besides, Aisha hasn't even started talking yet. She can't even say 'father.' How do you know she has magical talent? You're just making things up..."

"A-Allen! A-hey... Allen!"

From the crib nearby, Aisha waved her little hands at Allen.

Paul's words came to an abrupt halt.

The room fell into dead silence.

Paul's face turned pale as he glanced at Allen, who looked increasingly awkward. Strangely enough, Paul had spent just as much time playing with Aisha and Allen over the winter, but Aisha only called out to Allen. This was too much for Paul to handle.

Paul then turned to Lilia, who was covering her mouth trying not to laugh, and let out a long sigh. He turned to Rudy and spoke earnestly.

"Rudy, as her older brother, you mustn't play favorites. Take good care of Norn..."

"A-Ah..."

This time, it was Norn in the crib reaching out, asking for Allen to hold her.

Paul: ...

Lilia: ...

Zenith: ...

Rudy: ...

The entire family fell into synchronized silence.

At that moment, Aisha, hearing Norn's laughter, pouted and burst into tears.

Allen rubbed his forehead, lifting his face from the bowl. He glanced at Aisha and made a "shh" gesture with one hand while using the other to flick a precisely controlled burst of aura at her forehead using the Water God Style technique.

Her red hair fluttered from the controlled aura, and she waved her hands excitedly in the air.

She immediately stopped crying.

The family fell even deeper into silence.

Allen froze mid-action, feeling even more awkward, and slowly buried his face back into the bowl.

After a long while, Rudy, sensing the awkward atmosphere, cleared his throat.

The mood is really awkward. I should say something to save Allen... Let me think... Got it!

He turned to Allen and spoke seriously.

"Allen, do you really dislike the village? But everyone in the village seems to like you, especially Mrs. Somar..."

Before he could finish, Allen shot up in panic, covering Rudy's mouth and dragging him out of the house under his arm.

"We're going to find Mrs. Somar—no! We're going to find Sylphie!"

In an instant, Allen dashed out of the house, leaving a gust of wind that tousled the hair of the three remaining at the table.

The room fell silent for a moment before Paul spoke again.

"Allen... does he really dislike Buena Village that much?"

He sighed, exchanging a bitter smile with Zenith and Lilia.

Zenith, who had been smiling while watching her husband and child bicker, finally looked away from the open door and gazed at the ceiling, pondering.

"It seems like it... But I think the reason he doesn't want to stay in Buena Village might be something else..."

At this, both Zenith and Paul's expressions turned serious. They exchanged glances, their faces filled with uncertainty.

Meanwhile, in their bedroom, on the desk by the window.

A gentle spring breeze drifted in, lifting the corners of a letter on the desk.

The contents of the letter were unclear.

But the handwriting was elegant and ornate.

Clearly not written by a commoner.
