*Clank!*
At the training grounds of Konoha, two people were sparring. Two ninjatos clashed against each other but both shinobi didn't let up.
Unfortunately for one of them, the latter was too fast and precise to keep up with.
"Kabuto why not use a chakra scalpel to fight." I casually say parrying his downward slash. Kabuto was caught off guard with an opening for the taking, he couldn't dodge a slash right to his hips. Thankfully it was with the blunt side.
*Thud*
"Kuh!" He grunts out.
The spar was over.
'Once Sumiko and Kabuto grow stronger, I can get more serious.' I smile to myself seeing the grey-haired kid regain himself.
Off to the side was a girl who was just watching on a log. Swinging her legs up and down just enjoying not being the target of today.
She had long silky brown hair, black eyes and a basic face.
Her name was Tsubaki and my third teammate.
Unfortunately for me, she was just a normal Root recruit which isn't that special. Her ceiling was predicted to be high Chunin by her instructors while specialising in assassination.
In particular with poisoned senbons.
Which made her a danger to Jounin-level fighters depending on the situation.
Still a liability though.
Her whole kit is throwing projectiles.
I can do that but faster and better.
It was currently the early morning as we were waiting for our sensei to arrive. Mukai was somewhere unknown protecting me as per our agreement, while his debts to the hospital were quickly paid by me.
This didn't go unnoticed by Danzo but he didn't question me.
If anything he had an approving look the last time I saw him.
*Rustle*
A faint noise reached my ears as my head turned.
Right in front of me was someone double my height with long black hair that was tied halfway down and clear white eyes. The person was wearing a long-sleeved kimono that was held together with an obi.
Looking straight up at him, he had a headband covering his forehead.
'A Hyuga...'
While there were quite a few of them. Danzo wouldn't give me some trash that the Hyuga would throw away without some resistance.
"Hizashi Hyuga, how interesting," I mutter.
[POV - Hizashi Hyuga (Minutes Ago)]
'Raiden Shimura, my new student. Younger than my son but already having graduated...' I thought with chills going down my spine.
He was the heir to the Shimura Clan, but most importantly. Raiden Shimura holds the favour of probably all the elders and the Hokage of the village. His talents were fueled by his clan head, the other two elders basically sheep, while the Hokage gave him nearly weekly visits.
Everyone knew this, it wasn't hidden information.
The Shimura produced a fully fledged prodigy.
He was a future force to be reckoned with and the Hyuga needed to create connections with the heir before anyone else. The heir's future was guaranteed if he didn't die early in any capacity which is impossible.
This was the perfect opportunity.
A simple job of protecting him, while not needing to teach him much or at all.
'It was a "request" from the Hokage. But it was really the Elders...'
While hidden from the outside the Shimura's heir still graduated after staying at the academy for half a year. No kid should be able to consume the whole curriculum at that age, while simultaneously getting the highest grades in the academy's history.
It was unheard of.
Kakashi never had near-perfect grades, but above average and enough to graduate. Itachi and Minato are the only ones comparable to his test scores.
The latter two were monsters in their own right.
A nervous sweat went down my head, wrapping this information into my mind.
Watching the kid casually counter his teammate's attacks with speed equivalent to a Chunin, made me realise one thing.
There were levels to geniuses.
Neji can't compare.
So what if he could use taijutsu better than others.
Making a ram seal with one hand.
'Byakugan!'
His chakra coils are more developed than normal. He had Chunin reserves but keeping in mind the Shimura's Heir was only six. It's as if he was born with a Kekkei Genkai which boosted his natural reservoir in some way.
On top of this, his chakra moved to his will to a weird degree.
With an instinctive level of chakra strength, the chakra would flow with some waste to the necessary body parts when used. A serious look spread on my face realising that the kid's chakra control was unnatural for his age.
Even for any Chunin shinobi.
Seeing the little spar over, it was time to introduce myself. Using the [Body Flicker] I appear right in front of him.
The kid turning his head, stared at me.
His genuine smile turned cold as his eyes locked onto my own. My body tensed up as the emotionless look soon after switch to somewhat of mild amusement.
'What was so funny?' I thought as a small detached smirk dawned on his face.
"Hizashi Hyuga, how interesting..." He says making my body freeze.
What is wrong with this kid.
[POV - Raiden Shimura (5 Week Later)]
'Five more.'
I think to myself seeing the last few bandits in front of me.
"Shinobi!"
Bandits, it shouts seeing my headband.
"It's just a kid this should be fine."
Another bandit says making the other three start to close on me. This wasn't the best situation but it's not like they stood a chance in the first place. Didn't they know that the younger the shinobi the scarier?
I'm currently doing some C-rank missions with my team.
While this is happening I have a clone grinding D-rank missions for the stats. There's a need to keep up appearances and make my name more well-known to civilians, trying to emulate Minato's reputation somewhat.
It was currently nighttime with the grass about to be painted red.
'They don't even know that I've killed their whole camp, that's pretty sad.'
Before they could attack I used the [Body Flicker] with an after-image clone.
While the bandits were busy looking at the clone I quickly killed three.
Sqwelp Sqwelp-
Slit!-
Channelling chakra to my left arm using a one-hand ram seal, they blur as [Swift Release] activates throughout my whole body, sending the two shurikens at a near-instant speed at their heads.
The bandits not even getting the luxury to see my arms move, suddenly died.
*Boom*
Unfortunately for them, the sides of their head exploded making an instant kill. Because of the aim being a little off they had half of their heads intact with their bodies soon after falling down to the ground.
Seeing the sight of brains everywhere, my mind stayed calm.
Killing was normal now.
Kill or be killed is the more appropriate words.
The way the shuriken left my hands felt perfect.
Summoning a ninjato to my right hand, my left hand makes a half ram seal as the bottom half of my body proceeded to blur as the chakra started from my legs and went upwards. The use of my Kekkei Genkai was very difficult when focused on a point.
So this was the only way.
It covered my body like a cloak but it was subtle and transparent, not like Baryon mode or lightning armour. In an instant, my location was already to the side of the last bandit.
While it took me a second and a half to regain myself, then after go for a slash. It was too fast for the poor guy to comprehend where I went from my old location.
*Swish-*
'I'll need to train to use it without hand signs.' My thoughts wander off a little.
Training [Swift Release] was a pain. On top of only being able to use it about six times a day before exhaustion, when used it creates a cloak around my whole body. So until my mastery over the Kekkei Genkai and my reserves grew, it wasn't possible to optimally train it.[1]
Because of this, the use of it is either at the start or end of a battle.
The advantage was that it made me faster than any shinobi my rank. Obviously my speed wouldn't be able to harm a Jounin or above as my reaction time would be slower.
What's the point of closing the distance if they stab me first.
Throwable projectiles are a different story though.
[Swift Release] While acting like a cloak it didn't mean my whole body moved, it just used up more chakra than it should. On top of my already bad control of the kekkei genkai, any attempt to use only a small part will end up just failing in general.
Very annoying but will gradually improve over time.
Unlike my training, missions under Konoha were really straightforward. Not like the anime, all the missions I've taken were as described. Maybe because I'm not a Shonnen protagonist and the village takes the difficulty of missions seriously.
If situations like the Land of Waves occurred often, half of Konoha would be dead.
Other than bandit exterminations, boring escorts with two elite Jounin happened. There wasn't any shinobi to my knowledge that were even close.
Nothing bad should happen today.
"It's my turn to watch," I say as my two teammates and Hizashi rest up.
After a little bit, I unsealed some fresh meat I got on the way here from my gloves and started to cook it.
It was an eerie cold night, a little uncomfortable but you get used to it. The darkness consumed anything outside the camp besides a few beams of light breaking through the large tall trees. Feeling my body amid a constant fight of burning heat and the cold due to the inefficiency of a campfire, a moving figure alerted me.
Through the night it subtly moved.
'What's that?' I think to myself spotting a weird dark patch under the night light.
Summoning my ninjato, I abandon my food as my hand forms a ram seal ready to use my Kekkei Genkai to avoid any attacks. Now alert to any visible movement from my surroundings.
"You can come out."
I call out with a cold voice. Looking behind where the tree's shadows are I see a pair of eye-sized yellow dots pop up out of nowhere.
Tensing up a little I talk out loud without putting my guard down. This was a new experience, I think I know who they are but I have to confirm it first.
"What do you want."
The "shadow" starts to rise out of the shade with a humanoid body.
It was Black Zetsu.
My body tensed as my grip on the ninjato on my hand unconsciously tightened.
'I would prefer if my teammates were here but I know that even with all our power combined we wouldn't even be able to catch Zetsu, let alone Obito who could be here.'
If he wanted me dead there really wasn't much that could be done. He snuck up upon a 10-tailed Madara which makes my position anywhere, even in Konoha dire.
"I just want to talk." It says in a calm voice. The black humanoid wasn't fully showing its whole body, as half of it was submerged in the ground.
Keeping up my guard I watch as Zetsu moves up to me slowly.
My heart started to beat fast as I'd never felt this close to death before or know that I could die at a moment's notice. My mind drifts back to my teammates and Mukai, where could they possibly be at this moment.
'So much for protection.' I thought remembering that dog who looking into the sun, accepting his fate.
As the thought went by my head, a thud could be heard behind me.
It was Mukai knocked out.
"Heir of the Shimura..."

[A/N: Not having as many views originally starting like my old fic sucks and demotivated me a little.
By the first 20 chapters there were already ten reviews and I thought of making a goal like 100 stones for a chapter.
But thinking it through I'd rather let the story slowly progress than rush it like my last fic]
[1] The way swift release will work is that it has two parts. The first acts as a cloak that protects him from any self-harm. While the latter part is some sort of instinctual super strength, but only speed, with better versatility and wider possible application.
Like using it on his brain to react faster but that's not possible for now. It's like Tsunade's super strength but without the chakra control requirements.
Raiden only knows the former for now.
For some reason my old note was deleted?
