Chapter 61 - Cotton Candy of the Grasslands

"How much is 'a few yaks' worth'?" Su Feng stared at the bank card, puzzled.

"Not much," Jin replied casually. "Just a few tens of thousands."

Su Feng: "…"

Since when is "tens of thousands" considered "small"? Poverty truly did limit one's imagination.

The two wandered the grasslands, Jin opting to walk alongside Su Feng rather than ride Ponyta. Behind them, Ponyta and Combusken followed closely, while Haunter floated above, scanning the horizon.

"Gastly~!"

Hauster suddenly gestured excitedly at the distance, miming fluffy shapes with her gaseous hands.

"Yellow cotton candy… moving?" Su Feng translated.

Haunter nodded, giving a thumbs-up.

Jin stared. "How do you even understand her?"

"It… just clicks," Su Feng shrugged. Over time, he'd grown attuned to his Pokémon's body language—a skill he couldn't fully explain.

As they followed Haunter's direction, the "cotton candy" came into view: a flock of sheep-like Pokémon with golden fleece, their soft "baa"s carrying across the plains.

[OMG! Fluffy sheep clouds!]

[Are these Pokémon too? So huggable!]

[Cuter than baby Combusken! Fight me!]

[New life goal: Hug electric cotton candy.]

"Mareep!" Su Feng grinned. "We're incredibly lucky."

"Lucky?" Jin raised an eyebrow.

Clearing his throat, Su Feng launched into lecture mode:

"Mareep, the Wool Pokémon. Electric-type. Their blue skin hides under golden fleece that stores static electricity. Those black-and-yellow 'horns'? Just ears. Their tails have bulb-like tips that glow brighter as they charge up."

He approached a Mareep with a dim tail bulb, gently patting its wool. "Their fur regulates temperature and traps air—soft, odorless, and dangerously cozy. But touch one at full charge, and…" He mimed a jolt.

[Selfish host! Let us pet them too!]

[I'd sell my soul to nap in that fluff.]

[Booking flights to X City NOW.]

"Why 'lucky'?" Jin pressed.

Su Feng pulled out Pokéblocks. "Mareep thrive in captivity. Their wool regrows weekly—perfect for premium textiles. But processing it requires special methods to avoid… zappy accidents."

A Mareep nibbled the offered treat, its tail bulb flickering warmly.

[Where to buy Mareep wool sweaters!?]

[Shut up and take my money!]

[This'll cost a fortune. Worth it.]

Su Feng smirked. "For wealthy fans? Maybe. But first—" He gestured to the flock. "—we convince these cuties to partner up."
