Chapter 67 - The First Live Streamer to Broadcast Sleeping

"Huh? Why? It sounds nice," Xiao Da asked, confused, as Su Feng and Jin quickly covered their ears.

"Drone, mute!" Su Feng shouted, unsure if Jigglypuff's song would affect viewers nationwide. The last thing he needed was drivers dozing off mid-stream.

An irresistible drowsiness washed over him. Xiao Da, who hadn't covered her ears, was the first to succumb.

Su Feng, despite his efforts, felt the melody seep through his fingers. Knowing sleep was inevitable, he fought to stay conscious long enough to shout, "Xiao Ai!"

"Here."

"Set an alarm for 4 a.m.!"

"Alarm set for 4 a.m. Goodnight~"

"I don't want to go to… sleep…"

Su Feng collapsed, followed by Jin, who quickly adjusted the seats and draped coats over Su Feng and Xiao Da. Even Combusken, Haunter, and Ponyta fell asleep mid-action.

The stream went silent.

[What just happened? Did they die!?]

[Mods! Do something!]

Once Jigglypuff finished singing, the drone's audio resumed, broadcasting soft snores.

[...]

[They just… fell asleep?]

[Sleeping in the open grasslands? Risky move.]

[First streamer to monetize sleeping. Respect.]

[Wait, didn't the host mute the drone before passing out?]

[Yeah, he must've heard something dangerous.]

[I caught a bit of that pink Pokémon's song. Sounded nice, but not that nice.]

[Maybe the drone's audio quality messed it up?]

[Guess we're watching them sleep now.]

[Yep. Just… watching.]

As viewers trickled out, the drone shifted focus, capturing the serene grasslands and its Pokémon inhabitants.

Jigglypuff, noticing its audience had dozed off, pouted and vowed revenge. With a hop, it floated away on the breeze.

"The moon hides behind clouds, the breeze stirs the flowers…"

Su Feng slapped his phone, silencing the alarm.

"Ugh… What happened?" Xiao Da yawned, disoriented.

Jin and the Pokémon stirred awake.

[Finally! I stayed up all night for this.]

[Was hoping to catch them still asleep. Guess I'm pulling an all-nighter.]

[Sleeping in the wild? Bold move.]

[Next time, warn us before passing out!]

"You think I wanted this?" Su Feng groaned. "Jigglypuff's song hits instantly. No warning."

"Jigglypuff? That pink, round one?" Xiao Da asked.

"Cute?" Su Feng's eye twitched. "Sure, if you ignore its… quirks."

He pulled up a photo of Jigglypuff.

"This is Jigglypuff, the Balloon Pokémon. Normal/Fairy-type. It inflates itself to float on the wind."

"As you can see, it's pink, round, and has cat-like ears and big blue eyes. That tuft of hair? Adorable, right?"

"Jigglypuff's body is super bouncy. It can roll like a ball if it curls up."

"It loves singing. Compliment it, and it'll belt out a tune without hesitation."

"Its vocal range spans over 12 octaves, and its lung capacity lets it sing entire songs without pausing."

"But here's the catch: Jigglypuff's song matches the brainwave patterns of deep sleep. Anyone who hears it will pass out. That's what happened to us."

[Insomniacs, rejoice! Natural sleep aid.]

[I've been struggling to sleep. Should've asked for a Jigglypuff lullaby.]

[Fairy-types are so cute!]

[More like a hypnotist than a singer.]

Suddenly, Su Feng remembered something and frantically checked his reflection.

"What's wrong?" Xiao Da asked.

"Some Jigglypuff draw on people's faces as revenge for falling asleep. Permanent marker."

Xiao Da giggled. "That's so childish. Cute!"

"They use indelible markers."

Xiao Da: "…"

Not cute anymore.
