The fifth child and the fourth son belonging to Nyx and Erebus is Thanatos, he is the personification of death (the non-violent kind). Thanatos is the God of Death, being the god of death he is responsible for bringing the souls to the Underworld after The Fates have extinguished their thread of life. Thanatos then brings the souls to the banks of the AcheronRiver where he then hands them over to his older brother to ferry to their destination. He has a twin brother, Hypnos, that lives in a cave with him. He is young, tall, and muscular with silky smooth black hair that flows to his shoulders. He has a light tan skin tone that he only has because he travels back and forth from the mortal world and the Underworld escorting souls. Thanatos has one of my favorite eye colors of all my family, and they are a honey gold with the outer edge being a red ring. His wings are pretty cool too, they are totally soft but nobody knows that except me. I snuck a feel of his wings once when he was taking a brief rest, I'm pretty sure he knew I did it. His wings are shades of black, purple, and blue, they are kind of iridescent.
Thanatos has a kinda cool but kinda creepy power at the same time and that is the power of Necromancy. This power allows him to separate the living from the dead. This means that any soul that is trying to escape has absolutely no chance to escape and cause mischief among the living. He also has never married nor had any kids. But it's ok since he isn't really into children being the God of Death. He also didn't want to take any of his attention from his job, so he happily chose to not marry.
Sadly even if he wanted to marry he wouldn't be able to since most mortals and gods alike aren't fond of being around death. My dear cousin is sweet even if he is the god of death, but you can smell death off of him since he very closely works with it. Although thankfully he isn't as lonely as some of his siblings are. He and Charon constantly see each other so they chat very regularly so if you think about it they aren't ever without anyone to talk to. He too also works under Hades as he is the one to always bring the souls like earlier stated.
