The other half of the twins duo is the sixth child and fifth son, Hypnos. Hypnos is the personification of sleep, so he is the God of Sleep. This means that he is responsible for bringing sleep to both mortals and immortals alike. Hypnos is tall and fit, very lazy and has a gentle personality. He has white hair that flows to his shoulders, it has strands of black in it and is fluffy. His eyes are a beautiful aquamarine blue and they are clear like a mirror. They also have a red ring on the outer ring like his twin brother does. He is a young man with gray skin and has wings. His wings are blue and they are outlined in purple, they shimmer in a silvery purple, his wings are very neat.
I absolutely love his robes he wears because they are a dreamy purple with shimmery pink clouds all over it. They are trimmed in a poppy red with a poppy brooch on the left chest that doubles as a holder for some of the sleep inducing opium. He lives in a cave with his wife, children, and twin brother on the banks of the Lethe River, this river is of forgetfulness. At the entrance of the cave are poppies and other sleep inducing plants. I saw my cousin mixing some of the water with his sleep inducing opium to make a liquid that he sometimes used. Hypnos uses the liquid form when he needs to slip it into the food or drink of the target. He always carries his horn with opium in it as you never know when it will be needed.
Hypnos has 4 powers, the first of the powers is Hypnokinesis which means that he has the divine authority over sleep, this allows him to put others to sleep. The oracles have foretold that he will help the Queen of the gods put the king of the Gods to sleep. He is definitely the family member to come to when you need help to go to sleep. I've lost count how many times he's helped me fall asleep over the centuries. It costs me a week of taking care of his poppy garden every time but it is totally worth it.
The second power that Hypnos has is Oneiromancy, or the ability to pass messages through dreams. This is normally what he uses when he finds a soul in the Underworld that deserves to have the privilege of passing a message to their family. Be it something they forgot to tell them when alive, remind them of something, tell the truth of something like maybe how they actually died or something like that. This privilege isn't used too often for this purpose though. He loves to just talk to the family, so he's never lonely like some of his siblings and our other relations. The last time he used this power though was when there was major unrest in the mortal world because somehow Cerberus escaped the Underworld.
The third power is the ability to ShapeShift, this helps him so he can pass messages from the dead to the living. This power grants him the ability to change into anything of his liking. The fourth and final power that he was granted was the EternalDrowsiness, meaning once this has a hold of you the only person to free you from it is Hypnos himself and only when he's ready to.
His wife is Pasithea and she is Zeus's daughter and one of the 3 Graces. Together they have three sons that are called The Onriroi and they are in charge of dreams. The oldest of their son's are Morpheus, his appearance is of a human guise. Their second son is Phobetor, he appears as beasts. The third and final son is Phantasos, his appearance is of inanimate objects. His wife, Pasithea, lives in the Underworld with her husband and her sons. Occasionally she goes to visit her sisters but mostly she stays by her husband's side. Even though she is like a heavenly daughter of sorts since she is Zeus's daughter.
