Chapter 77 - "Villains" Are Here!

Daily Meme

 -----

The class spread out, each of them pulling people from the wreckage. I pointed at Sero. "Swing across and check for anyone stuck in collapsed buildings."

He shot a line. "On it."

"Jiro, find the worst cases."

She pressed a jack to the ground, listening. "Got two heartbeats under the rubble near the north side."

"Kirishima, Mina, that's you. Clear a path."

They ran ahead, Kirishima hardening his arms while Mina melted through debris.

"Yaoyorozu, make splints and braces."

"Already working on it," she said, handing off a set to Ojiro.

"Todoroki, ice ramp for evac."

He didn't hesitate. Ice shot up, creating a stable path.

We heard an explosion near the relief center. Smoke shot up, and the ground shook like someone had just dropped a damn building. In the middle of it, Gang Orca charged forward with a squad of masked "villains," moving like they had been waiting for an excuse to go apeshit.

Yaoyorozu shoved a megaphone into my hands. I clicked it on. "Villains are here! Split into teams! One group stays back to protect the relief center and medics! One group takes up the charge! One group keeps handling rescues! Don't try to be cool—pick the option that actually fits your skills! Minimize casualties, hold them off, let's go!"

I tossed the megaphone back and gripped my bat. The others were already shifting, picking their roles without hesitation. I sprinted forward. Gang Orca was right there, breaking through the dust and debris like a walking wrecking ball.

Bakugo blasted past me, already launching straight at the enemy. "Outta my way, dumbasses!"

Todoroki followed, ice rushing along the ground, cutting off some of the villains before they could get too close. Kirishima and Sato moved in, ready to take hits if needed.

His squad was fast, moving like a pack. One lunged, going straight for one of the injured. I swung the bat into his ribs before he got close. He stumbled, tried to recover, and then caught a kick to the head from Kirishima, who had come in right behind me.

"Keep them off the civilians!" I yelled.

Villains charged like low-budget movie zombies, all wild swings and blind aggression. The kind of goons who thought running straight at us made them more threatening instead of just making them easier targets. They played their roles well.

Gang Orca didn't budge, standing in the middle of the chaos like he was waiting for something interesting to happen. His squad, though, was already fanning out, circling like a pack of dogs looking for an opening.

One tried to slip past me, going for Izuku. I flicked my bat up, catching him under the chin. He reeled back, and Izuku drove a kick into his side, sending him rolling.

Kirishima blocked another hit with a hardened arm and countered with a punch to the gut. "How many of these guys are there?"

"Too many," Tokoyami muttered. Dark Shadow hissed as it swiped another villain aside. "And they are not entirely without strategy."

Gang Orca shifted slightly, eyes tracking Todoroki.

Todoroki caught it too. "He's waiting."

Yeah, no shit. He wasn't throwing himself into the fight, just watching, testing, probably looking for an opening to break our rhythm.

We weren't alone though. Students from other schools were still in the fight. Shiketsu's Yoarashi Inasa was already on the move, wind kicking up as he darted forward. Shindo Yo from Ketsubutsu wasn't far behind, his hands tensed like he was waiting to shake the earth. A few others joined in, but none of them were hesitating.

"You keep them busy. I'm going for the boss. We can't let him do whatever he wants." I shot forward before anyone could argue.

Gang Orca was right there, standing in the middle of the wreckage like he belonged in it. He hadn't made a move yet, just watching. His guys were already on the attack, throwing hands with whoever got close.

Gang Orca stayed put. Waiting. Probably for something worth his time.

Fine. I'll do it myself.

I gripped my bat and swung at the ground. "Hey, Free Willy! You planning to fight, or are you just here to supervise?"

His head turned slightly.

I closed the distance fast. He barely shifted, just raised an arm as if swatting at a fly. His sleeve barely moved when I brought the bat down. It didn't even faze him.

Alright. Fair.

His arm shot out. I twisted to the side, barely dodging the hit. Wind followed, strong enough to shove me back.

"Strong grip," I muttered. "You work retail?"

He didn't respond, just stepped forward. The second his hand moved, I dodged left. A gust shot past, strong enough to crack the pavement.

Yeah. Fighting him straight-up was a waste of time.

I jumped back, out of his immediate range. "Bakugo! Todoroki! Distract him!"

Bakugo snarled. "I don't take orders—"

Todoroki sent a sheet of ice under Gang Orca's feet before Bakugo finished his sentence. Orca cracked it with a stomp, but it slowed him. Just enough.

I rushed in.

His arm came up again. I ducked, sliding under before swinging at his side. Felt like hitting a goddamn truck. He moved to counter, but Bakugo's explosion forced him to pivot. I slipped behind him, aiming for the back of his knee. Another swing. Another damn brick wall.

Fine. Plan B.

"Sorry for what I'm about to say, but I talk shit to my enemies. Since you wanna act like a villain, I can't hold back."

Gang Orca's eye twitched. I didn't give him time to respond.

"Is your mom as ugly as you, or did she just think she dropped a big-ass turd when she first saw you?"

Bakugo barked out a laugh. "Holy shit."

Gang Orca exhaled sharply through his nose. His guys shifted uneasily, like they weren't sure if they should be more worried about me or their boss's blood pressure.

"Nothing? Alright, let's go again," I continued, cracking my knuckles. "You were born face-first, huh? Explains the concussions. Or wait—" I squinted at him. "Are you just mad 'cause SeaWorld denied you a tank?"

Inasa choked. "Dude—"

Gang Orca finally moved. Fast. His hand shot out, aiming to grab me. I twisted, barely dodging before swinging the bat at his knee. Felt like hitting a steel beam. I backed off immediately.

"I bet your dad took one look at you and thought, 'Damn, guess I really did fuck a sea hoe,'" I said, swinging my bat over my shoulder. "Explains the beady-ass eyes. Probably figured you were a flounder and tried to throw you back."

Gang Orca didn't move. He just stood there, expression flat, but the air got heavier. His guys shifted, like they weren't sure if they should be more scared of him or me.

"You're lucky fish don't pay child support, huh? Otherwise, your mom's sushi joint would've been shut down years ago."

Sato let out a short, sharp laugh. "Holy shit, he's actually doing it."

Kaminari glanced between us. "Should we... help?"

"Shut up, idiot," Kirishima muttered. "He's baiting him."

Gang Orca exhaled. I felt it more than heard it. Like a deep rumble, just under the surface.

Oh, we were getting somewhere.

I took a step forward, tilting my head. "Orca sperm is apparently super valuable. Guess that means your mom got paid twice, huh?"

Tokoyami inhaled sharply. "Ryuu—"

Orca moved.

He was fast. Big as hell, built like a goddamn truck, but he closed the distance in an instant. My body reacted before my brain caught up, ducking just as his fist went wide. Air pressure cracked against my ears.

I swung. Bat met arm. Might as well have hit concrete.

Felt like hitting a power pole dipped in regret. My arms were still vibrating from the last swing, and Orca looked mildly annoyed—like I'd interrupted his evening tea. His hand shot out again, trying to grab me, but I twisted, Quickstepping to his side. Todoroki's ice crept up his feet, slowing him just enough for Kirishima to come in with a punch. Even with Hardening maxed out, it barely did shit.

Orca turned. Kirishima caught a backhand to the ribs and went flying.

Kaminari jolted forward, hands crackling. "Think electricity'll do anything to whale blubber?!"

"Better than nothing!"

Tokoyami's Dark Shadow lunged from the side, clawed arms stretching. Orca intercepted it, grip tightening around the inky limbs. Dark Shadow screeched, thrashing.

"Need a better angle!" Tokoyami called.

"Then get one!" I shot back, already moving.

Gang Orca ripped Dark Shadow away, then turned back to me. "You talk too much."

"Yeah? And you breathe too much." I adjusted my grip on the bat. "Seems like we're both good at something."

Orca lunged again. His reach was insane. I barely managed to Quickstep out of range, feeling the gust of wind as his arm swung past. The system pinged.

Perfect.

I grinned at Orca as I charged. Not the 'charging forward' kind. The blurred, now-you're-screwed kind. I barely dodged, but the gust shredded the wall behind me like wet paper. "Time to get serious. Inasa, Todoroki, combo attack. Bakugo, blast the hell out of him. Kirishima, Todoroki, Izuku, flank him. Kaminari, wait—target his mouth when I make him call me Daddy."

Bakugo was already moving, explosions firing off his hands as he shot toward Orca. "I don't take orders from you, dumbass!"

"Good thing I wasn't asking." I flipped the bat over my shoulder and lunged forward, cutting right into Orca's range.

He didn't change course, though. His palms cracked as he hurled a blast toward Orca's side. Todoroki and Inasa moved next—fire roared forward, whipped into a violent spiral by Inasa's wind. The flames shot toward Orca's legs, forcing him to shift. His stance barely changed, but he braced against the attack, boots digging into the ground.

I swung the bat at his head. He ducked, but not fast enough—wood met his shoulder with a loud crack. His head turned slightly. I wasn't sure if it hurt him or just annoyed him. Probably the second one.

"I thought pros were supposed to be scary," I said, swinging again. "Guess they let anyone be a top hero these days—did they recruit you from SeaWorld, or did your mom have to bribe the commission with a bucket of cum?"

He grabbed at me. I Quickstepped back. He didn't chase, eyes flicking toward Todoroki's next wave of ice. He shattered it mid-swing, shards flying. Kirishima lunged in, hardened fists slamming into his side. Still not enough to do much, but it kept the pressure on.

Orca exhaled hard. A sonic wave pulsed outward, blasting Kirishima back. Izuku caught him before he crashed into the rubble.

"Bakugo, now!" I shouted.

Bakugo was already mid-air, palms glowing bright. "I don't need you to tell me, dumbass!" He fired off two blasts, aiming for Orca's head. The first one missed. The second one hit—didn't do much, but it forced Orca's head back. His mouth opened slightly.

"Kaminari, light his ass up!"
