At the grand hall, Celine took her seat at the long dining table, ignoring the few lingering gazes. She wasn't here to play their games.
But, of course, Lady Rose couldn't resist. "Princess," she purred, her voice dripping with false sweetness as she settled gracefully into the seat across from Celine. "You seem… different today."
Celine lifted her gaze, offering a polite, lazy smile. "Do I? Maybe I'm just finally settling in."
Lady Rose's eyes flickered with something calculating in her mind. "Settling in," she echoed, tilting her head. "Or growing too comfortable?"
Celine didn't blink. She picked up her teacup, taking a slow sip before setting it down carefully. "Oh, but shouldn't I? After all, I did earn my place here. Or have you already forgotten how I crushed your dear friend Selene?"
