Celine had planned on going straight to her chambers, locking the door, throw herself onto the bed for a long, well-deserved nap after that disaster of a court session and try to ignore the mess her life had become. But, of course, the universe had other plans.
As she made her way down one of the dimly lit hallways, her ears caught the low murmur of voices, not just any voices but ones that sounded far too secretive for a simple conversation.
Curious,she paused, it was late and knew that most of the nobles should have already retreated to their chambers or been pretending to be important somewhere else. Yet, as she listened closely, she realized the voices were coming from behind the heavy wooden doors at the end of the corridor which meant they were not from guards or serventservants but we're nobles.
