"Have you prepared the gift for Benjamin?" Harvey changed the topic, not taking his eyes off the document in his hands.
Dean nodded, his expression slightly relaxed. "The people from the secretary's office have already delivered it. Benjamin is quite happy." He paused before adding, "Though, it doesn't matter what gift it is, once it reaches Benjamin—it represents the Pack's position."
"Hmm," Harvey responded softly, his brows knitting slightly as he seemed to reflect. His gaze turned distant. "Who knows what kind of people will show up tonight."
Dean's eyes gleamed with excitement as he sensed something. He quickly asked, "Benjamin has connections in both the underworld and above; anyone would give him some respect. Richard and Waldo are probably going, right?"
"Who knows?" Harvey's tone was nonchalant, but a fleeting, malicious gleam appeared in his eyes. The moment of silence that followed was filled with a subtle, creeping chill.
