Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: The Challenge

"Why hasn't he come back yet!" Light looked at the increasingly lively common room, and a bad premonition welled up in his heart.

Just when he felt something was off, an owl, gray and white with a small backpack on its back, flew in front of Light and hovered.

Looking at the owl holding an envelope in its beak, Light frowned and asked, "Is it for me?"

Seeing that Light didn't take the envelope, the owl directly pushed it in front of his eyes.

Light had no choice but to take the envelope and opened it to read.

"Mr. Ragus, Harry Potter needs help! Please take the music box on the owl's backpack and go to help him."

"Dumbledore."

Looking at the scribbled and brief handwriting on the envelope, Light knew that this letter was written in great haste.

"Damn it, this old man really knows everything!" Light cursed under his breath, quickly put away the envelope, rummaged through the owl's small backpack and took out a music box, then walked out of the common room quickly.

When Light rushed to the corridor on the fourth floor, he saw that the door where the Three - Headed Dog Fluffy was kept was open!

He opened the music box in his hand, and in the soothing music, Light slowly walked into the room.

As soon as he entered the room, the fierce expressions on Fluffy's three dog - heads gradually relaxed! In the end, it couldn't hold on and fell down.

Seeing that Fluffy had fallen, Light quickly opened the trapdoor and put away the music box.

Light looked behind the door. It was pitch - black inside, and there were no stairs at the entrance to help him descend.

Gritting his teeth and closing his eyes, Light passed through the door and fell all the way down! The damp air whistled in his ears.

As he was falling rapidly, Light cast Slow Fall on himself, and his falling speed gradually decreased.

Since Light knew the inside story of the level, he directly pointed his wand at the space below, closed his eyes and cast a spell, "Bright as Day".

A bright light shot out from the wand, turning into a curtain of light that illuminated the entire underground space.

The Devil's Snare hidden in the darkness was forced back by the sudden strong light and shrank rapidly, trying to hide in the corners without light.

Light, who was falling slowly, stopped steadily when he was half a meter above the ground.

He canceled the Spells. After landing, Light started walking along the stone corridor.

The stone corridor was extremely quiet. The only sound around was Light's hasty footsteps.

After walking for some time, a glowing exit appeared in the distance of the dark corridor.

Seeing this, Light quickened his pace and walked over! Just as he reached the door, he saw the broken wooden door fragments scattered all over the place.

At the same time, a lot of rustling sounds came from behind the door, as if insects were chirping.

Light stepped into the bright, spacious room. Countless keys, as dazzling as jewels, were flying in the air like birds.

Right across from Light was a tall and heavy wooden door with a keyhole. That was the entrance to the next room.

Looking at the keys flying constantly in the air, Light didn't have the time or the patience to find out which one was the right one.

Light walked straight up to the wooden door, raised his wand and said, "Sectumsempra". An invisible wave shot out from the wand and transformed into several sharp slashes that shattered the thick wooden door along with the magical protection attached to it.

"Boom!" The heavy wooden door turned into pieces and crashed heavily to the ground.

As Light walked through the wooden door, the originally pitch - black room suddenly brightened. At this moment, he was standing on a huge chessboard.

The black and white wizard chess pieces were regularly placed on the chessboard, just like an enlarged version of wizard chess.

Light didn't step forward immediately. Instead, he looked around and found Ron lying near the entrance to the next level.

When Light wanted to step forward and check on him, the wizard chess pieces that had been as still as sculptures began to move.

"Tsk! I can't play wizard chess at all." Light spat out in annoyance.

After complaining, Light raised his wand. The violent Fiendfyre curse gushed out from the wand and transformed into several ball - sized masses that attacked the wizard chess pieces in front of him.

"Boom!" As the loud noises came one after another, several wizard chess pieces were blown to pieces. The scattered fragments were melted and turned into continuously - burning fuel.

Under Light's control, the scattered Fiendfyre curse kept rising and gradually gathered together in the air.

Countless Fiendfyre curse gathered and transformed into a gigantic flaming lion!

The flaming lion made of Fiendfyre curse emitted scorching heat and charged straight at the wizard chess pieces. Once it touched the wizard chess pieces, they were ignited and melted into a bright red liquid.

Even the chessboard on the ground was badly damaged under the rampage of the flaming lion made of Fiendfyre curse.

Light waved his wand, and the flaming lion made of Fiendfyre curse soared into the air, where the scattered Fiendfyre curse gathered on it again.

Under Light's control, the flaming lion made of Fiendfyre curse in the air gradually dimmed, faded, and finally turned into a weak flame and went out.

After solving the trouble in front of him, Light quickly walked up to Ron, crouched down, and turned Ron, who was lying face - down, over. He gave Ron a rough check and found no wounds.

Light pointed his wand at Ron and cast a healing spell. "Ah!" After a pained cry, Ron opened his eyes.

"Ron, are you okay?"

"Light! Why are you here?" Ron was obviously still a bit dazed and didn't respond.

"I received a letter from Dumbledore. He told me to come here and find you guys!" Light explained his appearance.

After regaining his senses, Ron sat up suddenly and said anxiously to Light, "Light, Harry Potter and Hermione are in danger. Let's go and help them quickly!"

"I know! I'll go there right now." With that, Light helped Ron up.

Just when Ron wanted to say something more, the door to the next level suddenly opened!

Hermione ran out from behind the door in a panic. When she saw that Ron was okay, she showed a happy smile.

"Hermione, how is Harry Potter?" Before Hermione could speak, Ron asked first.

"Harry Potter has gone to the next level! We have to go to the professor for help right away. I'm afraid Snape will do something to Harry Potter..."

"Snape? What exactly happened?" Light interrupted Hermione directly.

"There's no time to explain. We have to go to the professor right away!" Hermione said anxiously.

"Okay!"

"You guys go find the professor first. And here, take this!" Light handed the music box to Hermione and then walked forward.

"Wait, Light! There's no potion left for the next level! The door there is blocked by flames. We can't get in!" Hermione anxiously tried to persuade Light.

"There's no need for so many of us to go back and find the professor. I'll go in and check it out first. Hurry up!" Light made up an excuse to urge Hermione and Ron to leave.

"Let's go! Light, wait for us to come back!" Seeing Light was so determined, Hermione gritted her teeth and led Ron back the way they'd come.

After passing through the door, a stench hit them! A Troll over five meters tall was lying flat on the ground. Its tiny head, extremely disproportionate to its body, had a huge lump on it.

Light covered his nose and mouth and rushed to the next - level door. He opened it and then firmly shut it, blocking out the stench.

After taking several deep breaths of fresh air, he couldn't help but complain, "I have no idea where Quirrell managed to get so many Trolls."
