Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: Attack

In front of the shop counter, Light opened an Alchemy book he had selected from the book - storage room and began his Research!

There was about a month until school started. Light was confident that with his nine - point Alchemy talent, he could master all of Boggin's collection of books.

While reading, Light would jot down his questions and wait to ask Boggin when he came back from his social engagements.

Boggin, indeed a master proficient in Alchemy, could answer most of the questions. Only a small number of overly tricky and strange questions stumped him.

Light sat in front of the counter, reading books, and occasionally attending to customers who came in to look at the merchandise. When he had free time at night, he would go to the basement to make some Spells props and conduct Research.

During this period, either the situation was too tense, or the crackdown was too strict, so there were few customers in the shop.

Those who really wanted to buy something were in a hurry, as if they were in a rush.

Light had been in the shop for a few days, and Boggin went out for social gatherings almost every day.

The news that there was no adult in the shop, only a brat, quickly spread throughout this ungoverned area.

Many people with ulterior motives flocked into the shop. Some with sticky fingers tried to steal the goods, but Light caught them one by one with the monitoring eyes he had made himself.

For those who could afford to pay, Light would calculate the price with a smile on his face. As for those good - for - nothings who couldn't pay, he would just use a Spell to throw them out of the door.

Naturally, there were also those who wanted to force someone to buy or sell. Light didn't tolerate such people. He directly removed their kidneys, giving them a shock from a "scam"!

The removed kidneys were used by Light to make a Dark Magic Spells prop called the Reinforced Kidney, which was quite popular! Apparently, there were quite a few people who were not satisfied with themselves.

Occasionally, Light would go out at night to "fish", adding a few more items to his collection of Dark Magic Spells props and using the darkness here to harden his heart.

After just a few days, Knockturn Alley became much quieter at night! Light couldn't help but sigh. Sure enough, the wisdom of the East was right: Experience is the best teacher.

As night fell, Light closed the shop door. Just when he thought Boggin could handle things and he could spend the rest of his vacation peacefully.

In the fireplace in the shop, the flames suddenly blazed up and transformed into Boggin's face. He shouted, "Save me quickly! The Portkey is under the counter drawer. Help me!"

Just as Light was about to ask, the flames went out! Seeing this, he couldn't help but sigh softly, "You can't talk about people, or something bad will happen!"

Light quickly picked up his wand, took out the Portkey from the drawer, and used it. After a spatial distortion, he disappeared from the spot.

As soon as Light appeared, he found himself in an alley. It was quite tidy around, probably a side street of a main road.

"You're here!" While Light was still observing the surrounding environment, a panicked voice came.

"What's going on?" Light frowned and looked at Boggin, who was in a sorry state, with his black robe torn into rags like a beggar's.

Boggin gulped and said angrily, "A group of wizards are chasing me. It should be those suppliers who were rejected by the Ministry of Magic!"

"Why didn't you just use Apparition to leave?" Boggin led Light to move quickly towards the main road.

"I can't do it because they've tampered with my wand. Once I use Apparition, I'll be transported straight to them." Boggin walked while nervously observing his surroundings.

"An upgraded version of the tracking strings? It seems they've spent a fortune to take you down! How many are tracking you?" Light quickly moved alongside Boggin, gathering information.

"Six..."

"The target is here! Pili Baozha!" Before Boggin could finish speaking, they were spotted!

As soon as the attacker shouted, Light reacted. "Iron Armor Charm" "Impediment Jinx" "Sectumsempra"

Amid the thunderous explosion, a sharp slash severed the attacker's head.

Light and Boggin rushed through the bomb - ravaged alley. Suddenly, a red light approached Boggin.

"Get out of the way!" Light pushed Boggin aside. The wand in his hand glowed as he deflected the incoming Spells, shattering the nearby wall.

Meanwhile, a kaleidoscope of Spells came hurtling towards Light in the ruins.

Light had no time to dodge. He quickly deflected several Spells, but his defense was broken, and the aftershock of the attack sent him flying.

Light tumbled to the corner of the wall, coughed a few times, and spat out the sand in his mouth.

Meanwhile, the remaining five wizards, not far from each other and supporting one another, formed a semicircular encirclement and advanced towards Light.

Looking at the five well - coordinated wizards, Light couldn't help but frown. This was trouble. These wizards were clearly professionally trained.

"No other choice! Summon Fiendfyre curse!" Light smirked. With a quick dash, he faced the attackers head - on, waved his wand, and a wild blaze erupted, surging towards the five wizards.

"Iron Armor Charm" "Impediment Jinx" "Flame Extinguishing Spell", the attackers quickly set up defenses to withstand the approaching flames.

The raging Fiendfyre curse instantly broke through all defenses. The two wizards in the middle were instantly turned into burning torches!

"Fiendfyre curse! ... All Spells End!" Seeing the increasingly fierce flames and the fiery serpents stretching towards them, the remaining three quickly extinguished the Fiendfyre curse in front of them.

"Sectumsempra" Just as the three had dealt with the Fiendfyre curse, one of the wizards had his head quietly severed.

The remaining two didn't dare to slack off when they saw the flames rushing towards them again.

"Iron Armor Charm" "All Spells End" One stepped forward to block, and the wizard behind slammed his wand on the ground. An orange glow instantly extinguished the flames.

"Not good!" Seeing the flames extinguished so quickly, the wizard in front had his pupils contract.

"Enhanced Pili Baozha!" Light drew out half of his remaining Magic Power. With a thunderous roar, the wizard in front, shield and all, was instantly blown to pieces.

A blood - stained figure was sent flying by the blast wave, crashing heavily to the ground and letting out shrill screams.

"Stupefy!" The screams of the person hit by Light's Spells suddenly stopped.

"Iron Armor Charm" "Impediment Jinx" Light didn't let his guard down. After casting two layers of defense on himself, he warily watched his surroundings.

After a while, Boggin suddenly popped up, raising his hands to show he meant no harm. At the same time, he didn't approach the vigilant Light and shouted.

"I've checked. There's no one else!"

Hearing Boggin's voice, Light couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief and walked over to him, but didn't put away his wand or drop the Spells.

"What's next then? Can you handle it?" After meeting Boggin, Light scanned the alley that had turned into ruins and asked.

"Of course! But I need to know who attacked me, though I have a guess... you know." Boggin stared darkly at the person lying on the ground, unconscious.

Hearing this, Light couldn't help but raise his eyebrows. Looking at Boggin, he thought through the secret passage, "This guy has quite a bit of influence!"

"Well, then I'll leave that guy lying on the ground to you!" Looking at Boggin who was on the verge of an outburst, Light pointed at the person over there with his wand.

"Sure thing!" Boggin said slowly, his tone full of satisfaction.
