Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: The Werewolf

A shrill scream pierced the silent night sky. Soon after, the scream suddenly stopped. Boggin walked towards Light with a gloomy face.

"Do you know who it is?" Light was playing with the Portkey and asked Boggin, who was coming out of the darkness.

"Got it! He couldn't kill me, so now it's my turn to fight back!" Boggin's voice was low, but his tone was extremely cold.

"Do you need help?" Light looked at Boggin, who looked like a villain, and asked with great interest.

Boggin saw Light looking eager for a show and couldn't help twitching his mouth.

"No! I'm just going to meet a friend. No need for all that fighting!" After saying that, Boggin disappeared from the spot.

Seeing Boggin disappear, Light turned to look at the alley that was like a ruin, then looked down at his own hands and murmured,

"Did I really kill five guys? It doesn't feel real, just like a game."

Just then, the shrill siren was getting closer, waking Light from his daze. He let out a long sigh, activated the Portkey in his hand, and vanished from the spot.

Under the bright moon, for the first time in a long while, Light didn't go to the basement to make Alchemical Spells props. Instead, he went straight to his room. Lying in bed with a mind full of thoughts, he tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.

The howls of a wolf rang out, waking the melancholy Light in the middle of the night. He glanced at the full moon outside the window.

Light suddenly jumped up from the bed. "Damn it! I haven't set up the defenses yet tonight!"

The long - drawn - out wolf howls were getting closer. Light grabbed the wand on his bedside table and rushed downstairs.

Just as he was about to activate the defenses inside the shop door, he saw through the window a tall, dark figure approaching the door.

That figure was like a giant wolf walking upright. It was covered in gray fur, with limbs slimmer than an ordinary wolf. Its eyes glowed green in the dark, and sharp teeth could be seen in its constantly growling mouth.

Seeing the approaching werewolf, Light gave up the idea of setting up the defenses and instead tightened his grip on the wand.

"Boom!" The shop door, without any magical defenses, was instantly shattered by the werewolf's great strength. The werewolf rushed into the shop, saw Light standing in front of the door, and pounced on him!

"Pili Baozha!" The second loud noise rang out, and the werewolf that had pounced on Light was sent flying back the way it came!

It landed heavily on the hard ground, with burn marks all over its body, and let out a painful howl.

Looking at the messy shop, Light couldn't help letting out a soft sigh. Looking at the werewolf still struggling on the ground, he said softly, "This night's gonna be a long one!"

"Enhanced Stupefy!" The stunning spell that drained 70% of Light's Magic Power instantly silenced the still - howling werewolf.

After getting the werewolf outside into the shop, Light used a healing spell to restore the shop to its original state. Then he ran up and down to raise the magical defenses.

On the workbench in the basement, a werewolf was lying there. Light frowned as he watched the werewolf whose burn marks were quickly healing.

Facts about werewolves flashed through his mind. Whenever the full moon rose, a wizard would involuntarily turn into a wild beast that didn't recognize anyone and would crazily attack anyone in sight.

It was all because of the werewolf venom, a virus that flows through the body along with the blood.

"Blood, huh?"

Maybe I can use him to test my inspiration!"

"I got the inspiration from an Eastern silk book. By using animal blood to prepare a special ink and inscribing it on the body, it is said that one can gain a certain power!"

Light picked up his wand and cast another stunning spell on the gradually recovering werewolf!

Then he picked up a blood collection tube and looked at the unconscious werewolf.

Light drew a large amount of blood from the werewolf. It seemed that the whole werewolf had shrunk a bit.

Light couldn't help marveling. If it were an ordinary person, they'd be dead by now!

He divided the wolf blood in his hand into batches, and then took safety measures before processing the wolf blood in his hand.

Based on the wolf blood, he added mandrake roots and started boiling in the cauldron. After they boiled, he added fluorescent stones... and then stirred!

The scarlet liquid in the cauldron gradually changed color as Light stirred. His spirit and Magic Power also began to Flow into the liquid, changing together with the special potion.

"Failed!" Light looked at the potion emitting a strange aura. He wasn't too disappointed. Instead, he emptied the cauldron.

After writing down the reasons for the failure and the directions for improvement in his notebook, he continued to prepare the potion.

Peng, green fumes rose from the cauldron. This time, the proportions were incorrect.

Pen, a pungent smell came out. This time, he had added the mandrake roots too late!

...

Light stared with his blood - shot eyes after staying up all night at the glass bottles filled with a deep - black potion that still emitted a faint glow of Magic Power. He couldn't help sighing:

"Who'd have thought my alchemy plan would fail 'cause I suck at Potions! It's so frustrating!"

Next, Light poured out the deep - black potion and filled it into a special carving knife. The potion Flowed along with the carving knife.

Even before the magical scripts were completely inscribed, it already emitted a powerful Magic Power, and the vibration almost made Light drop the carving knife!

Light was as fully engaged as when he was preparing potions. His spirit Flowed along with the carving knife.

The moment the inscription was completed, the vibration of the magical scripts stopped, and an introverted magical script Hunt appeared on the table!

Light picked up the magical script on the table and felt the power within it. He smiled and began to inscribe more magical scripts.

After using up all the potion, Light obtained seven magical scripts.

He glanced at the werewolf who had returned to his human form. Light knew that it was already dawn outside. He let out a soft breath and took out his wand.

Under Light's Guidance, the seven magical scripts containing powerful Magic Power flew into the wand. Right then, the wand began to vibrate wildly, as if it was about to shatter at any moment!

Just when the wand was about to give in, Light's spirit and Magic Power seeped into it at the same time, starting to balance it.

Countless phantoms flashed through Light's mind. Trees were growing, giants were roaring, and wolves were howling at the moon in packs!

After Light integrated these phantoms, they gradually disappeared and transformed into the shape of a wand again.

After finishing all this, Light withdrew his spirit from the wand. After completing this series of complicated operations, instead of feeling tired, Light felt extremely comfortable, and the tiredness from staying up late had also disappeared!

Light picked up the wand and examined it carefully. Except for the faint glow of Magic Power Flowing on the wand shaft, it wasn't much different from its previous state.

However, at this time, Light showed a hearty smile. He raised his wand and shot a Petrificus Totalus into the air!

Strangely, the spell that was shot into the air suddenly turned around in mid-air and precisely hit the naked man who was trying to sneak up on Light from behind.

Light looked at his wand with a smile and exclaimed, "Nice! You're a grown-up wand now! You can track targets on your own!"

Closing his eyes and feeling the continuous exchange between his wand and his own Magic Power, Light felt really excited!

After a long while, Light slowly got up and walked towards the man who had fallen straight to the ground.
