Chapter 73 - Chapter 73: Brewing Potions

Several materials were put into the cauldron. The crimson liquid boiled continuously under the high temperature. Then Light poured his spirit and Magic Power into it and began to stir so that they reacted with the liquid.

Professor Snape held his wand in his right hand, alert to the werewolf that was also staring at Light!

At the same time, he supported his chin with his left hand, watching Light's operation of separating Magic Power.

"Add minerals to absorb the Magic Power and make it precipitate! Increase the temperature to evaporate the impurities! This doesn't seem like the method of brewing potions..."

While Professor Snape was thinking, Light had separated the Magic Power of the werewolf in its human form!

"Professor, can you help me analyze these?" Light took out two bottles of potions, one red and one black, and asked Professor Snape.

"Sure!" Professor Snape put away his wand, walked to the workbench, took the two bottles of potions, and suddenly took out a box from somewhere and started taking out tools.

"Wow! I wonder if this storage thingy has been registered with the Ministry of Magic?" After Light complained in his heart, he stared intently at Professor Snape's operation.

After a moment, Professor Snape stopped his work and said to Light, who was waiting:

"Your judgment is correct! There is a certain degree of difference between the two purified Magic Powers!"

"The black potion is more powerful and aggressive than the red one! As you said, there should be a special medium that caused it to mutate."

"This mutated Magic Power can replace ordinary Magic Power at a specific time."

Before Light could say a word, Garcia nervously asked, "Can it be solved?"

Professor Snape glanced at Garcia and said hoarsely, "Yes. Combining the purified Magic Power of the human form with a formula I know, it's probably possible to stay sane in the werewolf state!"

"Does that mean we can't recover..."

Garcia only said half of the sentence, but Professor Snape knew what he meant.

Light directly stated the conclusion on behalf of Professor Snape, "It's the mutated Magic Power that affects the body and causes you to turn into a werewolf."

"Based on the premise that werewolf venom cannot cause mutations in beings other than wizards!"

"The core of the problem may not lie solely in the werewolf venom, but in something deeper!"

"Then can we strip the mutated Magic Power from our bodies and return to normal!" Garcia said with a bitter tone after listening to Light's explanation.

After pondering for a moment, Professor Snape said, "It's indeed possible. Stripping the mutated Magic Power from your bodies might work! However..."

Professor Snape paused for a moment, scanned John, who was only covered with a blanket, and Garcia, who was wearing a shabby black robe, with a blank look in his eyes, and then said indifferently:

"The cost of this is definitely beyond what you can afford!"

Garcia's face instantly turned ashen. John, who had just woken up, was anxiously pacing back and forth behind, having no idea what was going on!

After stating the conclusion, Light, who was standing aside, didn't say a word. Countless thoughts were churning in his mind, and all his knowledge seemed to be connected at this moment!

"This problem that all wizards share might be related to the fact that human wizards generate Magic Power through the combination of soul and spirit!"

Light walked up to Professor Snape, who was packing up his things, and told him his thoughts.

He took out the notebook in which he had written down his speculations about the origin of wizards' Magic Power and handed it to Professor Snape.

After listening to Light's conjecture, Professor Snape took the notebook and opened it, reading more and more intently.

Seeing Professor Snape reading so intently, Light didn't interrupt and then ran to comfort Garcia. After all, this was the source for making powerful potions!

After a long while, Professor Snape closed the notebook and murmured, "When the soul descends into a suitable body, the spirit connects with the soul through extreme emotions, thus generating Magic Power."

"Magical creatures generate Magic Power through the connection between the body and the soul. Isn't this similar to a werewolf?"

After considering for a long time, Professor Snape shouted to Light:

"Light! Come here right away!"

Hearing Professor Snape's call, Light left the still dejected Garcia and the constantly fidgeting John behind and rushed to Professor Snape's side in a flash.

"Professor! What's up?" Light stood at attention respectfully, waiting for Professor Snape's instructions.

Looking at Light in front of him, Professor Snape said seriously, "I'm going to give you the formula I know, but you can't reveal it! It can only be used for your own Research."

After getting Light's promise, Professor Snape wrote out the formula and gave it to him. And he urged Light to start brewing the potion.

Cut the mandrake roots into pieces and add them when the red potion is boiling. Then stir. Finally, wait for the potion to change color and add the adder's - tongue roots.

"Bang!" The cauldron spurted out a cloud of green gas, announcing the failure of this potion - brewing attempt.

Professor Snape took the failed potion and began to analyze it. From time to time, he looked up and asked Light about the reactions of the materials he felt while stirring.

Was it due to the incompatibility between the materials, the temperature, or the way of processing the raw materials?

Even John was attracted by the lively discussion between Light and Professor Snape and their continuous attempts at potion - making.

Still a bit dejected, Garcia looked at John, who was constantly craning his neck forward, with disgust.

"Do you know what they're doing? Why are you so excited?"

"I don't know, but I seem to be able to feel that what they're doing can solve the werewolf problem."

Hearing what John said, Garcia didn't laugh at him. Instead, he looked at John seriously and said to him in a solemn tone, "Do you really have such a feeling?"

John nodded affirmatively and was about to say something more.

Footsteps sounded from upstairs. Meanwhile, a greasy voice rang out, "Why is it so lively here! And this smell, are you making potions?"

Except for Light, who was still brewing the potion, everyone looked up.

It was Boggin who came. He looked at John and Garcia with a look of disgust.

"How did you wolf cubs end up here? And what are your clansmen doing, loitering at the shop door all the time? It's stopping me from opening the shop!"

Garcia pulled John, who was about to speak, and said to Boggin, "Sorry, shopkeeper! We were invited. We'll leave soon."

Boggin reluctantly accepted Garcia's explanation and turned to Professor Snape, who was observing the formation of the potion. He said in a greasy voice:

"Isn't this the famous potion master, Severus Snape? What brings you here?"

Professor Snape ignored Boggin's greeting. Instead, he frowned tightly and stared at the boiling potion in the cauldron, muttering, "It shouldn't be like this! This should be okay!"

As soon as the words were spoken, the boiling potion in the cauldron erupted like it was stimulated...

Light quickly turned off the fire and moved away from the erupting potion.

After the potion settled, Professor Snape quickly stepped forward to check the reason for the failure.

"This isn't right! The recipe should be correct!"

"The recipe is correct. It should be that it lacks a little stimulation. I could feel that it was almost successful when I was preparing it!"

Hearing Light's explanation, Boggin also got curious. He leaned over the cauldron, dipped his right finger lightly into the potion, and tasted a bit of it. After thinking for a moment, he said,

"This is a potion to cut off the connection. Maybe you can use a sharper knife!"
