Chapter 77 - Chapter 77: The Diary

In the dimly lit shop, after hearing Boggin's stance, Light made a bold decision.

That's right, it was to escape!

Light left with a hasty remark, "I got it! If Garcia and the others come, just send them straight to the basement!" Then he scurried back to the basement.

Once Light disappeared into the basement, the oily smile on Boggin's face vanished in an instant. He didn't feel as at ease as he appeared.

Boggin, who had lived through the First and Second Wizarding Wars, was acutely aware of the contradictions and conflicts between wizards and Muggles.

The animosity between pure - bloods and half - bloods was merely a leftover from the previous conflict.

As a merchant and a master of Dark Magic Spells props, he knew better than anyone in the wizarding world about the technological development in the Muggle world.

Once a potion that could endow Muggles with Magic Power emerged, it wouldn't just stir up the wizarding world!

"This is such a headache! The situation here is so complicated that just thinking about it scares me," Boggin couldn't help but force out a bitter smile.

Rushing into the basement, Light plopped down on a chair. He let out a long sigh. Although he was troubled, he wasn't overly worried.

His eyes drifted to the box containing the Horcruxes, and Light felt even calmer.

"Well, if push comes to shove, I'll just die once! What else can you do to me after I'm dead? Hehe!"

As Light stroked his chin, his mind raced as he thought about his next step.

"So, my next goal is to obtain the method of making Horcruxes and then strive to become stronger! I need to at least reach Old Dumbledore's level before the news gets out!"

"As for forming a gang, forget it! Even a bunch of fearless Death Eaters weren't a match for Old Dumbledore alone!"

After formulating his grand strategy, Light clenched his right fist and uttered a famous line.

"When people suspect you have the ability to endanger world peace, you'd better actually have it!"

Light took a deep breath, picked up the wooden box with the Horcruxes, and took out the diary.

The moment he touched it, a multitude of distracting thoughts flooded into Light's mind. If it weren't for his high Dark Magic talent, he wouldn't have detected the hidden danger at all.

He invoked Occlumency to block out all the distracting thoughts and gently flipped open the diary cover. On the first page, there was a name written in bold.

"Tom Riddle"

The moment Light saw the diary, he felt a delicate force seeping into his spirit, trying to steal information from him.

Light exhaled softly. He fed the pre - prepared false information to Voldemort while concealing his true self even more deeply.

Suddenly, words slowly appeared in the empty diary, then faded away after a while.

"Hello! I'm Tom Riddle!"

Light wasn't taken aback by this. It was an advanced application of Legilimency, using words to intimidate, deceive, and Guidance the other party to break down their psychological barriers and acquire the information one desired.

This skill was imparted to Light by the most powerful figure in the wizarding world.

Light suppressed the distracting thoughts in his mind, picked up a quill pen, and scribbled a bunch of questions in the diary.

"Hello. Who is 'Tom Riddle'? Is he a master of Alchemy? Why can you write?"

"How were you created? Can you teach me how to make you?"

Light cut to the chase, asking all the questions he wanted right away, and was ready to see how this diary was gonna pull the wool over his eyes!

At the same time, he disguised his memory as that of a young wizard proficient in Alchemy!

It seemed that the diary hadn't communicated with anyone for a long time. While using Legilimency, it also had to answer the questions posed by others, looking as if it was caught off - guard!

After a long while, the words Light had written in the diary disappeared. Then several lines of words appeared again.

"I don't know this kind of profound knowledge. I'm just a diary! I also don't know why I can suddenly communicate with others."

Light curled his lips and wrote in the diary again, "Then how do you know you're Tom Riddle? How can you communicate with others without memories?"

"I don't know either. I woke up with his memories! That's why I can communicate with you..."

It seemed that the diary was afraid of being exposed by the questions, so it also started to ask Light questions.

"Do you know Hogwarts? I was once a student there. How old are you now! Maybe you can consider going to school there!"

Seeing the diary playing dumb while knowing full well, Light was all too happy to play along and kept writing.

"I'm already a student at Hogwarts. I'll be in my second - year after the next class!"

Words quickly appeared in the diary.

"Is that so? What a wonderful coincidence! Then I should be considered your senior. If you have any questions, you can ask me!"

After thinking for a moment, Light decided to drop some bombshells to see if he could fish out the method of making Horcruxes!

"Do you know about Horcruxes?"

"What do you mean? What do you know?"

Seeing the words in the diary, Light knew it had taken the bait!

"I saw a book in the Restricted Section! It mentioned Horcruxes, saying that they can give people the power to transcend death!"

"I'm not sure about this. It should be false. I've never even been to the Restricted Section. It's too dangerous. You shouldn't go in there without permission!"

Looking at the words that quickly appeared in the diary, Light had a guess about the location of the book about Horcruxes.

'The book is in the Restricted Section. People who have delved too deeply into the field of Dark Magic won't show kindness to others unless they have other motives!'

'But the book should have been taken away. Otherwise, Old Dumbledore would have known about Horcruxes long ago. In the worst - case scenario, the book might have been destroyed!'

After getting the information he wanted, Light was too lazy to continue chatting nonsense with it. He casually found an excuse and put it away.

Time flew by. The next morning!

Garcia appeared at the shop door with a large sealed bucket of blood, smiling at Light.

After checking the blood, Light found that it was very fresh. He guessed that it had been preserved by some Spells.

Then Light looked up into Garcia's eager eyes and knew that Garcia had used the potion he'd given before.

"I already have an idea for improvement! Adding the roots of devil's snare won't cause too much problem with numbing the spirit without affecting the effectiveness!"

Then Light took another look at the shop and said to Garcia, "Boggin has run out again! Help me watch the store!"

When Garcia saw Light was about to cast a spell on the bucket of blood, he quickly said,

"Just pick it up gently. It's an Alchemical Spells props! It can reduce the weight and preserve the blood."

Light readily took the advice and gently picked up the blood bucket. Just as he was about to go to the basement, he suddenly remembered and asked Garcia, "How many bottles do you want?"

"Twelve bottles for now!" Garcia showed a big smile.

Light said it was no problem and then turned around and entered the basement.
