CHAPTER ONE [1]
Anyone near that dark ally would have heard it, a loud sound a of a gun being shot , followed by a thud, the sound of a body falling to the ground. As if luck was on their side the sky let out a loud roar as lightning struck in a far distance , thus muffling the sound of the gun . Thinking back then the change of weather should have been a sign indicating the arrival of doom.
He lay there looking to the heavens as his life flashed right before his eyes "I am dying"he said to himself , the bullet wound in his chest makes it hard for him to breath ,he chokes on his own blood causing him to cough a little ,blood drips from the side of his mouth as a small arc forms on his lips .As soon as he said this laughter can be heard in the vicinity ,giving a hint that someone was near , faint footsteps can be heard, and a soft voice says "wow, look he is smiling ".Its the voice of the girl he had sworn to love until the rivers run dry. Maverick tilts his head as he looks in the direction of the voice , there stands a girl 5'6 tall , wearing a short skirt that barely covers the essential parts , with a cute top to match. It was his girlfriend Chloe , no his ex girlfriend at this point . Behind the girl he could see a tall blurry figure which he guessed was his older brother Axel. A few seconds later his guess was proved to be correct
''That's one thing about you that I have always hated , that fucking smile of yours '' his bother said. Although he said this with a soft calm voice, a faint hint of malice was tinted each and every word he said. '' That positive mindset of yours is the reason you are in this situation, always trying to be hero , the cool brother , the good and obedient child , for fuck sake you are nothing special!'' he says shouting but his voice is drowned by the pouring rain. At this point all Maverick can do is laugh , but this only lasts for a brief moment as a sharp pain pierces his chest , with his last breath while looking at his ex girlfriend Chloe clinging to his older brother Axel arm , he asked with a smile on his face '' when did you start dating ''. A cute giggle escapes Chloe's lips ''we have been dating for two years and a half ''. Maverick looks back to the sky as he does the math in his head calculating the years he has been dating her,'' so when we started dating you were already in a relationship with my brother '', they had been dating for a little over a year now . As he said this the puzzle in his head that had been bothering him for a while now was finally solved
In all the time he had dated Chloe, they had only held hands , she had told him that she was waiting for marriage so she shut him down when ever he had tried to cross the line of holding hands . He had told himself that it was worth the wait , he was going to propose to her on their second year anniversary .The funny thing is that he had told his brother all his plans for the future ,even the name of his first son was going to be his brothers name , that was the plan but not anymore . He remembers the time he told his older brother whom he loved dearly that he was going to name his first son after him , his brother cried saying he was so happy that he had a little brother like him. He had felt so lucky to have a older brother that was doting and loving. He was all he had, he was the only one that treated him like a human being , he had lived his whole life to make his brother proud.
Having been born out of wedlock, everyone treated him like a bastard and avoided him like the plague. His mother had died during child birth , he only knew her from a picture his nanny had showed him . When the going got tough he would ran away from home and go sit on his mothers grave until dawn when the security guards would come to pick him. When they took him back home his stepmother Veronica would beat him until he fainted , his nanny tried to protect a couple of times but that didn't last for long, Veronica made sure she disappeared from the face of the earth. The nanny's family couldn't even file a report to be police because they were sacred of Veronica Valentine. The Valentine family was a prestigious and wealthy family that stood second only to the Dalton family, the Dalton family was the family Mavericks father belonged to and he was the oldest son making him the heir to the family. Veronica had paid off the nanny's family to keep quiet and they had agreed with sum offered. After the nanny's death Maverick had no one , that was until his older stepbrother came into his life and started to shield him from his stepmothers wreath. His stepbrother was always nice , he would feed him when all others ignored him , he would give him warm clothes in the winter , he would do all the brotherly thing one could think of . When he was bullied by the workers at home or other kids at school his brother came to his rescue , that was the kind of brother he was .
All this came to him in vivid images that flashed in his mind , indicating that his life was coming to an end . Before he died he looked at his brother with tears falling at the side of his face and said in a husky voice '' I loved you and thought I was lucky to have a brother like you , always thanked the Gods for giving me a loving brother like you , I did not think that my life would come to an end by your hand '' shifting his gaze to his ex girlfriend he said '' you betrayed me , led me by the nose all because of money , you threw my love for you in the dirt and took me for granted ''. As he said this he looked to the cloudy sky the letting the pouring rain fall on his face , he cursed the gods for abandoning him at birth . With the loudest voice he could use he said '' to the gods above I curse you for giving me a hellish life and I wish eternal suffering to those that have hurt me in this life '' he lift his bloody hands and pointed to the sky and continued saying ''I swear on my blood to take revenge in my next life '' as he said this he took his final breath and his hand flopped to the ground and a smile formed on his lips for the last time .As if the heavens are moaning his death continuous roars of thunder could accompanied by large and flashy lighting strikes that illuminated his lifeless body .
His brother began laughing '' he thinks there will be a next life , what a naïve a stupid idiot '' without missing a beat he signalled to his henchman man that were present to dispose of the body and get rid of evidence before the police arrived .Grabbing Chloe by the waist and planting a kiss on her lips ,he kissed her as if his life depended on it . After what seemed like five minutes he let her go and said '' you are my plaything and you belong to me '' he said this as he got into his Lamborghini , before driving away taking Chloe with him
