(T/N: Chapter for your Power Stones)
Most people in the ninja world today have no real sense of how powerful Uchiha Madara truly was.
After all, the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, had heavily revised the curriculum at the Ninja Academy to solidify his own position, distorting history in the process.
He even had the audacity to call himself the strongest Hokage.
Even someone like Namikaze Minato, who had heard the real history from Yamanaka Shinno, only had a fragmented understanding of it.
Uchiha Madara.
This was the man who, even in his Mangekyō Sharingan state, could single-handedly beat down the Five Kage and the entire Shinobi Alliance.
If it weren't for the Sage of Six Paths secretly lending a hand...
If Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke hadn't been as tenacious as cockroaches, constantly getting back up no matter how many times they fell...
If Black Zetsu hadn't backstabbed him at the critical moment...
Madara would have been the final victor, without a doubt.
With just Shinno and Minato's current level of strength, facing Uchiha Madara head-on—even in his old age—was basically suicide.
"Damn, this world is ridiculously dangerous. First Madara, then the Ōtsutsuki clan... too much to deal with..."
Shinno muttered to himself.
If it weren't for his system, which had been rapidly boosting his strength, he would have already considered running off to some remote mountain and living in seclusion.
Just as he was lost in thought, a sudden fluctuation of space rippled beside him.
"Huh? Myōboku Mountain is using Reverse Summoning Jutsu. I need to go."
Minato sensed the technique activating. He quickly embedded a Flying Thunder God kunai into the ship's railing before vanishing in a thick cloud of chakra smoke.
By the rules of Summoning Jutsu, once the contract was broken, the summoned individual would return to their original coordinates.
Without a marked kunai as a guide, by the time Minato returned from Myōboku Mountain, this fast-moving three-masted ship could have drifted who-knows-where.
Minato wasn't gone for long.
In less than twenty minutes, he reappeared on the ship using the Flying Thunder God technique.
Shinno was still lounging on the deck, soaking up the sun and enjoying the sea breeze.
Noticing Minato's return, Shinno couldn't help but frown at his odd expression.
"What's with that face?"
"The village issued a notice. The gist of it is... Uzushio Village has always been a steadfast ally of Konoha. Due to certain circumstances in the past, Konoha was unable to assist the Uzumaki clan when they were attacked. Now, all Konoha shinobi are encouraged to provide aid whenever they encounter any surviving Uzumaki..."
Minato chose his words carefully as he relayed the message he'd heard from the toads.
Shinno's expression immediately turned just as strange as Minato's.
And he completely understood why Minato had reacted that way earlier.
Summing it up in one thought:
Oh, now they remember their allies?
The Land of Whirlpools had been destroyed years ago. The Uzumaki clan had been nearly wiped out.
And now Konoha wanted to act like it cared?
"The Third must be trying to gather up any remaining Uzumaki."
Shinno saw through the Hokage's intentions immediately.
The Uzumaki clan...
The only things that would interest Konoha's scheming old guard were their bloodline and their sealing techniques.
And given that this kind of development hadn't happened in the original story...
Even without thinking too hard, Shinno could guess that this was all because of the rumors flying around about his relationship with Kushina.
Was Konoha worried about their Jinchūriki?
Or were they trying to keep the Yamanaka clan in check?
Or maybe both?
"Probably. Looks like Kushina will have some clan members settling in Konoha soon."
Minato nodded, genuinely happy for her.
Konoha was one of the Five Great Shinobi Villages.
No matter what, its living conditions were far better than the chaos of the smaller nations.
If members of the Uzumaki clan could settle in Konoha, they'd at least have a chance to survive and pass on their lineage.
"Don't be too optimistic. The Uzumaki clan might hold a serious grudge against Konoha."
Shinno scoffed but was already mentally checking in with his system.
Since this was an unexpected butterfly effect he had caused, would he get a reward for it?
This was definitely an alteration to the main storyline, right?
Hey, system! Where's my reward?
Hello? You there, you damn system?
The hell?
After waiting a while and getting no response, Shinno frowned and turned back to Minato.
"Minato! Do you want a wife or not?"
"???"
Minato looked at him, completely baffled.
"Red hair, long and silky. A face like a finely sculpted masterpiece. A body—sexy as hell. Personality? Gentle as flowing water. Do you want her or not?"
Shinno slung an arm around Minato's shoulders and vividly described the girl from his memory.
"As long as she isn't the type to punch me so hard I cry for a week... I guess I might be interested?"
Minato chuckled.
Truth be told, he always found red hair beautiful.
That fiery color gave off an endless sense of passion and vitality.
Back in the Ninja Academy, if Shinno hadn't been so fast to make a move, he might have actually tried pursuing Kushina himself.
"I'm gonna repeat that word for word to Kushina."
Shinno smirked, now even more determined to set Minato up with this girl.
One: If he successfully altered Minato's fate, the system might reward him.
Two: Kushina was his.
Minato needed to be paired off and settled somewhere else ASAP before he became an obstacle.
"Hey, hey, I was just repeating what you said! If Kushina gets mad, she should be mad at you, not me!"
Minato protested.
"She wouldn't hit me. So..."
"You're gonna lose a friend if you keep this up, seriously!"
"Ahahaha!"
The two laughed and bantered for a while.
Then Shinno gave the order to the ship's captain to change course—heading straight for the Summoning Island in the Land of the Sea!
A ninja on a mission could encounter all sorts of unexpected situations.
Arriving back a few days late wouldn't raise any suspicions.
...
The Land of the Sea was located north of the Land of Water's waters and south of the Land of Lightning's sea borders.
Like the Land of Grass, the Land of Bears, and the Land of Rain, it was one of the small nations sandwiched between major powers, serving as a buffer zone during wars.
Summoning Island, though technically part of the Land of the Sea, was actually controlled by Kirigakure.
In the original timeline, this island was home to many powerful creatures that could be used as summoning beasts, making it highly sought after by ninjas.
There was even a research facility there, dedicated to studying, breeding, and modifying summoning animals.
Back when Shinno had read that Kiri-nin's memories, he'd learned that many of the creatures used in battle against Pakura came from there.
At the time, he hadn't given it much thought.
But now that the Uzumaki clan had been brought up...
He recalled a certain Uzumaki girl from the original story.
She had been living on Summoning Island—until she was tragically killed by some so-called "ultimate summoning beast."
From what Shinno knew, combining the canon timeline with the memories he extracted, there was a very high chance that Uzumaki Honoka was still alive.
And she was about their age!
Wouldn't giving Minato a wife be much better than letting her die in some beast's mouth?
"Damn, I'm a genius!"
Shinno grinned, hands on his hips, immensely pleased with himself.
